  1. So true! try pulling Pete Townsend's guitar smashing bit with that beast. I always look for the lighter guitars, lol.
  2. That's how I record drums and keys I run everything into the fx return and I record it all with my DAW. I hear ya though. Hopefully someone has the answer
  3. Have you tried to run them into the FX Return of the Helix. I've got the HD500 and run my drums and any other source into the FX Return of the Pod and put the FX Loop at the end of the chain somewhere. You can even control the mix with a pedal. Can also use an EQ after the return.
  4. Can you use the mixer to boost or cut the amps appropriately? I never really tried this with all the amps to see if it works.
  5. I don't really know any other KISS.
  6. What does your patch look like? You could try to put a studio EQ somewhere near the end of your chain and increase the gain. Have you tried to increase the mixer volumes? How about a boost comp before the amp model? Just throwing some thoughts out there.
  7. Oh I forgot to tell you that if you plug the drum machine into the DT50's FX return it should sound great. I do this with my Beat Buddy with stereo amps (DT50 & Peavey Valveking II 20 MH) with excellent results. Just another way to use the FX Loop on the amps. My routing would be guitar in HD500 guitar input, Pods 1/4" analog out into Beat Buddy and Beat Buddy out into the FX return of the DT. Or Just go into the DT's preamp with the guitar and use the Beat Buddy going into the Amps FX Return.
  8. Run it into the FX Return of the Pod and you'll have control of mixing it with your guitar. Works great for me with my Beat Buddy. I usually put the FX Loop at the end of my chain. If you put an EQ after the FX Loop you can adjust your drum freq's.
  9. I guess if you need to get that cable disconnected you might have to soften the glue with heat. I remember working on a boat and the wire harness connections were so water tight I had to use a small piece of wire in the seal while plugging them together in order to let air out otherwise they would not lock together, lol. Also there was dielectric grease all over it. Now those were some tight connections. Said connectors were low voltage feeds so protecting them from the environment was critical so you don't get stuck in the water.
  10. I agree, It's all about quality control IMO. I've quite a few devices from Line 6 and have only had 1 issue and that was with my DT50HD.
  11. Even something as small as human sweat/oil on a component can cause this. For instance if a worker used bare hands to assemble it and/or touched the contacting parts could indeed cause an issue later. Even a drop of sweat in the right spot can cause an issue down the line.
  12. I Think the main difference betwen the 2 is that the MKII has a USB connection and the original one doesn't. They both have the CAT5 cable connection. Whooops, I think I'm talking about the Express boards or is the shortboard the same thing?
  13. Man that's something serious, glad you mentioned it. I would've never even thought possible. Thanks!
  14. Oh I thought it was like the HD500. Maybe Colonel Forbin will confirm for you since I think he has the M13.
  15. I would think Yes. SInce I do it with my HD500.
  16. Oh sheeeeeeeiiiitttttt that was actually pretty freakin' good!
  17. Yes I'll stop, but I'm in the same boat and miss mine as well, lol :)
  18. I'm not sure Old Rocker, It's the first time I've ever had this happen and I've been using my HD500 for years now. I don't remember it being complained about a lot here either. Keep in mind I was connected via USB to my laptop recording so maybe something happened in the ASIO part of the chain.
  19. That's one hell of a story "H". Thanks for sharing that. I'm so glad you lived! I love those little gif's hahaa Loooooongggg Liiiiiiiivvvvvvvveeeee RRRRoooooooooooooooccccccckkkkkkkkkkk! The video of me going down on the track is on my profile page, lol.
  20. That's my nephew riding the bike. I'll try digging one of me up I know I got them somewhere in the hundreds of unorganized video's I've taken, hahaa. At the time I didn't have a bike so my ride was borrowed, lol. I love that gif you put up there. So Cool! I wish I had a GoPro back in the day when I was really into it, YeeeeeeeHaaaaaaawwwwwwww :) Ok I found one of me on a laid back ride in the rain one day and put it in my sig line. I didn't really review the whole thing so there might be a blooper of me crashing somewhere in there, LOL. I just added one of me going down on the track, lol, I wasn't riding my best hahahaha, had a blast though.
  21. I was playing yesterday with the HD500 and recording via USB monitoring with headphones from the Pod's headphone out jack and I suddenly had a complete volume drop for 1 second and that was the first time in the many years I've been using it. I can't explain what happened but I have an incandescent light in here and it didn't blink so I'm ruling out a power out blip, lol.
  22. I suppose you could try the original tubes to see what happens. It's weird that hear something then nothing. Maybe the transformer has been degraded.
