I agree with everyone else. Monitor using the HD500. If the 'puter speakers are powered and use a 3.5 mm stereo jack you could unplug it from the 'puter and plug the 3.5 mm stereo jack into the Pod's headphone jack.

Yep that's it. Go to the MIDI devices web site to update it's software. More specifically you want to update the MidiSport first then make sure your using the latest Line 6 Monkey.

The warranty might be the deciding factor in this. You might be able to get both. Buy one and save up strategically and get the othe later. For me having a back up device was always important. "Sound is so very subjective" is truth.. My experience concerning reliability with the UX2, X3 Pro and Hd500 have been very good. Keep in mind I don't gig with them and they generally stay put. Since they've lasted all these years I would have to say they are all great builds. Many people buy used and have good experiences, too. That's a good way of putting it "H" I have to agree :)

I was thinking about what you said here. I would say think about warranty. If your buying used there's no warranty. I do like the X3 Series and wanted the X3 Live but ended up with the Pro, forget why exactly, the Lives may've been sold out. The HD's models sound better to me though. It's a tough decision for me since I have both. I use the HD more than the X3 these days. but I'll break out the X3 every now and then. IMO, the X3 has tones the HD doesn't. The X3 may be the way to go for you. You already know it since you've had the UX2 and it has the feature you want. You could save money for sure. Ultimately it's choice to make. Whatever happens I hope you get what you want. PS: I really liked how the X3 Live looked. That pedal was cool!

Yeah you might want to keep it and try the new mic with your UX2 to see what kind of tones you can obtain. I had a lot of fun with Gearbox and my AKG Perception 420. You could also ReAmp two speakers with it at the same time. The UX2 is a very cool device. Since I still have my X3 Pro I basically have everything the UX2 had so I was good by giving the UX2 to my nephew.

I think your referring to the "Q". The Q narrows or widens a particular frequency range. You should just try it out, example make a riff and record using the looper then play said riff and then go the GEQ and choose a freq range and completely cut it by turning gain all the way down and then narrow and widen the Q. I hope I explained that right but by testing like this you can actually hear what kind of effect it has to your tone.

Hahaha Sorry 'bout that. My fingers were faster than my eyes, LOL. I was wondering if you were going to catch that before I edited it. Your more than a GURU!

Right back at Ya "H"! You're truly a Guru!

I think an Old-Rocker is gonna have some fun! We've all been in the line 6 learning mode so your not alone, and guess what??? it doesn't matter how old you are there's always something that's overlooked every now and then. Hope you have fun Old-Rocker.

True, I should try both together next time. Keep in mind I didn't say they sounded really bad. :)

My HD500 will have to die before I get rid of it, lol, and I would try to fix it first before that, hahahaha. I also have the DT50HD with one DT25 Cab and it sounds fantastic. I never did try the FRFR thing. I've plugged into a Bose set up and cheap stereo speaker cab and amp I put together, the cheaper one sounded better, lol. Off Topic: Recently got a Zoom MS-100BT and plugged that into the Aux in on my Spider Jam and could not believe my ears. I was blown away with how good it sounded dirty and clean. Gave me the goose bumps since I didn't really have to tweak much at all. Then I watched a video on the device web page of the creator Tommy Bolan, lol. Holy lollipop Man! In the end I really like the HD500 and it will be placed on my chest as they 86 me, lol. Jus Kidd'in. lol

When I got the HD500 I ended up not really using the UX2 at all. I used them both at the same time a few times in a few different ways but unless you really need it for a condenser mic I would sell it or keep it for backup or other options as "H" stated. I gave mine to a family member recently. I don't really need it anymore and if I need phantom power I can get something else. I'm pretty sure if you bought the model packs for the UX2 they're linked to the device so it must be plugged in via USB in order to use them. There might be a way to unlink them but I'm not up on the subject.

What else is in your chain? Maybe post an image of it. What exactly is the symptom?

I hope the tube change works for you, wasn't the case for me. I had to send mine back to Line 6, it made an approx. 3000 mile trek, lol. I ended up shipping it back in the original box it came in since I saved it but I probably could've just removed the chassis and sent that back leaving the cabinet at home. They sent a call tag so they paid the shipping the last two times, the first time it was a few days out of warranty so I shipped it (paid). It's a long story, lol.

This is what happened to my DT50HD. It's been a while now but I had to send it in to Line 6. I had to send it in 3 times if my memory serves me, lol. It's working ok but I just noticed that the L6 Link isn't working with my HD500 since I mainly use it with MIDI and the other inputs. I really should've checked everything when I got it back. Forgot to mention that this amp sounds excellent. It's the best sounding amp I've got.

I had a Zoom MS-100BT on the Christmas wish list, got lucky and Santa came through. Was just trying it in the Aux in of my Spider Jam and had a really good time 'cause the tone quality was great. It was so easy to get good sound from. I was using a Epiphone Special II which I had just put D'addario 9's on. I still have to run it into my HD500 but man it's so easy to use with the Spider Jam and get some good tone. Thanks for posting this radatats 'cause I may've never thought of looking at the Zoom pedals. Thumbs Up to Ya!

Kb37 Not Functioning Correctly At Laptop Startup
Brazzy replied to Hangman85's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
This is what I've been doing. I just unplug it before I shutdown or hibernate and after the 'puter is finished starting I plug it back in. -
I use Bose AE 30 something Ohm with the UX2.

Yep same to you dudes! I like this forum too. Personally I think it's difficult to explain how to navigate, tweak things and set ups through a forum but sometimes all one needs a tip to get the ball rolling!

Did you try to delete all recordings? I think by holding down the undo button and pressing it again.

I had to take a look at the FAQ's about HD Model Packs Installation and License Manager since my curiosity got the best of me, lol. LOL, I just learned how to turn off the Global EQ. Always learning something new. Didn't realize that all I had to do was hit enter while in the Global EQ to jog between on & off.

Here's to wishing everyone the Very Best in the up and coming New Year! Happy Celebrations! If anyone has anything to add to the above feel free to express yourself. Rock On! Sincerely, Brazzy PS: Thanks to everyone in this forum I know quite a bit more about music than I ever did, still learning though. Thanks Everyone!

Since he has the model packs I would presume.

I have a different take on it. My old computer died not long ago and I got a new Dell i7 Inspiron 5737 with Win 8.1 and upgraded to the free Windows 10. I didn't expereince anything alarming and the first thing I installed was Line 6 Monkey. Then through Monkey chose HD500 without it plugged in then installed the drivers for the HD500. After that I installed HD Edit through Monkey then plugged in the Pod and let it connect. After it connected I opened Monkey to see if I had green check marks for the things I installed. Then I opened the License Manager and made sure it was authorized along with the computer. It's been working fine ever since. Keep in mind I didn't buy the model packs yet so I didn't have to check that but I would think License Manager would help you along if you read what it says. I save any files that are important to me on an external hard drive so I always have them separate from the computer. I realize it seems everyone has a different experience so it's a very subjective subject. Good Luck with it and I hope it goes smoothly for you.
