2 questions. How do I use my Pod HD500X with my guitar cab?
Brazzy replied to EncoreBlade's topic in POD HD
It really depends what you like or what you need. For instance, when I want to practice I use a Jet City Picovalve and a JCA12S+ which totaled $270. This is a really bulletproof tube amp and sounds great when I run modeling through it. This way I don't use up my DT50HD's life. I also have this cheap little stereo speaker cab with a little solid state stereo car amp that I threw together for practice, it actually kicks lollipop, lol. I spent $70 to put it together and I even made a rechargeable battery pack which will power it for hours (8 D Cell 10 amps), which I use to power some of my pedals, so it has a multi use not specific to this amp/cab combo. I've found that if I power up my little Spider III 15 watt in test mode the modeling sounds great through it too. I think that amp was about $100 when I bought it in 2008. Still works great. Two of these would sound great for stereo from the Pod. Electro Harmonix makes a pedal, I think it's called the 44 Mag and it might power your speaker cabinet. might be the cheapest and easiest thing to do in your case. Plus it's very compact. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDtDRfIUyv0 -

Brazzy replied to EncoreBlade's topic in POD HD
You have a speaker cabinet but do you have an amplifier? You'll need an amplified speaker and the left analog out from the pod can be plugged into it. Then you just need to configure your output settings for the type of amplification your plugging into. As far as the settings go, it's all up to what you hear as to what setting your going to use. You should try them all to see what gives for your particular environment. -
Hey BillBee!, I had to use Data Erase 3 times (about 3 hrs) in order to get the Complete Recovery to take hold, lol. The 'puter works great now, like new. Before I just erased it once and then did the recovery but I had all kinds of weird symbols on the screen and different colors and designs pop up during startup and the OS just didn't work right, lol. I guess I had some really bad corruption on the disc, hahahaha. I guess I should've done the NSA Erase process :). Any it works great now and still has the original hard drives. Just for lollipops and giggles I ordered a Solid State Drive for it to see how that goes. Rock On! with DeepDown

Thanks for the tip BB. About your last statement........There's so much heat in my furnace the shingles almost completely burned off, lol. I'm thinking about ripping the roof and just throwing on some tar paper and calling it day, lol. :)

tone port will not load on windows 7 64 bit help!
Brazzy replied to purpleboost's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
Your UX2 should work with 64 bit Windows 7. I'm not sure what's going with your install. Try installing it in "safe mode" or "safe mode with networking". -
I wish you success in your Ol 'Puter resurrection!!! I gotta hand it to Sony. The hardware is pretty strong on the one I got. Just wish the software it came with was, lol. Maybe it's just me though Hahahahaha :)

Hahahaha That was Cooooooooollllllll!!!!!!! I watched it while I was running some restoration programs on the ViiiiiiiiiiiYoooooooo. Thanks for sharing that. I'll be laughing at that for a while now.

Hey BillBeezzter!!!! Thanks Man! I'm still toying with this Ol Vaio, lol. This laptop has 2 hard drives so I'm installing a second version (config) on the other hard drive so I can toy around with different settings, lol, 'till I break the software again. The first time (4 months ago) I must have had a bad video card driver. I don't know for sure though, how can I.???? hahahahaha I hear Windows Vista is very buggy but what do I know as an end user :) I'll toy with it 'till I have a real problem such as hardware. Rock On!

About 4 months ago my prized vaio laptop developed a problem which rendered it useless to me. Suddenly when I pressed the start button the BIOS splash screen or whatever you call it, lol, had strips of red lines consisting of red dots running through it vertically. Then when it started, right before the vista logo would pop up, the screen would just go blank and it seemed as though windows was running but I had no GUI. What a bummer. I tried to restore it but it still had the same issue so I ended up getting a newer computer and set this one aside for future education. Recently, I dusted it off, got out the restore disks I created when it was new and started to boot up to my external CD/DVD drive. I tried complete restore several times and had the same problem but I kept trying to do a complete restore. Erased the disc with 0's twice still the same issue. There are 2 hard drives in this computer so I took out them and switched them just to see what would happen. I had 2, 2GB RAM cards in it which I had bought to upgrade the RAM so I put the originals back in, just to see what happens, lol. I finally got a good restore and started to remove Norton 360, Live Update, etc. etc. and started the Windows Update which seemed to go fine up until Service Pack 1, lol, when bammmmm the dreaded vertical red dot stripes on the BIOS screen again, back to square 1. Make a long story short, I didn't give up and it's now a good running, back to original Vaio AR630E. I never had to buy any hardware for this laptop yet and it's still going strong, lol. Moral of the story is, "Give it a break but don't give it up". P.S.: In case your thinking it, I don't believe in Jinx's, lol.

I'm not sure about the actual spec but I think that may be the nature of a "hot rodded" tube amp which these are considered.
-
Daaaaaaaammmmannnnn, lol. On a more serious note, I wish you well with your new device, whichever you choose.

Maybe the reverb knob pot is causing an issue? Only thing I can think of right now. Might need some deoxit in that pot. Also, if there is enough vibration the knob could move and turn it on. Could also be a corrupt patch maybe rebuild and save the patch.

HD500(x) : can it send computer audio playback via USB to L6Link?>
Brazzy replied to ColonelForbin's topic in POD HD
That's a good question and I think it's asked before. I wish I could answer this but I don't use L6 Link. -
in your opinion....which line 6 amp?
Brazzy replied to mikejones5's topic in Dream Rig - Line 6 Product Integration
I can't speak for spaceatl but but I think it would be safe to say the DT25 is a worthy opponent to the DT50. I use my DT50HD in 25w mode most of the time and I think it sounds amazing. I'm sure if I had the DT25 instead of the 50 I would be happy as well. -
I know the forum is filled with problems and other issues so I've decided to put this up. I've decided to fool around the other day with modeling so I took the analog 1/4' L mono out from my KB37 Studio and plugged it into the FX Return of my DT50HD. After I opened up RiffWorks with Pod Farm 2.57 VST and Ableton I had a good time making some music and it sounded great. What a simple set up too. Details; I was at home so I ran the DT50 in 25W mode with the master at 50% and the FX Return at 50%. I ended up with the KB37 output at 25-30%.

Thanks for the update, I hope you get it fixed up. I'll be wondering how it's working out for you.

Was wondering if anyone would know if this would work. If I plug a 1/4" Push to Talk microphone into the instrument jack of the GX would it work? I "think" it would but was wondering if anyone is more sure than I, lol. I suppose any 1/4" jacked dynamic mic would work if the one I've got pictured does as there's many other kinds available. The attached photo is what I have in mind, also a link to the page; Push to Talk Mic with 1/4" plug connector

Hello, I've used an iPad with MIDI Mobilzer to record and replay the moves I make on my DT50 and HD 500. For example, as soon as I hit record in the app it starts recording any changes I make to the DT. So if I run my hd500 midi into the amp I have the amps midi out going into the iPad and the iPad's out going into the hd500 I can record moves and then play them back to change settings. Takes some getting used to, at least for me it did, lol. I haven't done that in a while but I had fun the last time I did.

All you may need to do turn your guitar levels down some and readjust you OD levels, have you tried that? Whenever I have this excess noise issue I turn all my levels down and work my up. For example I'll turn my guitar volume to about 2 position and set the tone knob/knobs in the middle. I'll take the amp's tone stack and gain and set them all to position 1 or 2. The amp volume I set to noon or to where I can hear it. Then I play the guitar and start adjusting the tone stack. Usually I'll start with turning up the mid to 3-5 or higher and then gain. Then I'll try turning up the treble and see how far I can go until I get excessive noise and back off unless I want that kind of tone, lol. The bass usually stays on the low side for me at about 2-4 maybe 5. After that test play the guitar with it's volume knob in all positions and then I try going both ways with the tone knob/knobs to see what gives. If the amp model your using has a master volume you can work with that as well. Don't try to make too many changes at one time this way you can better judge what the noisy culprit is, lol. After I'm happy with that I'll put a distortion pedal in front with the levels all at 0 and work my up with the level knob to see what gives and then add gain after that. If there is still noise I'll add a noise gate but only after I put any other effects in the chain. Of course the master knob on the Pod needs to set at least at 50% -75%, this setting is obviously a personal choice and then the level on your amp need to be at least 50%, again another personal choice. It's all personal of course, lol. Hopefully this helps some. If I have something to add I'll add in this post. IMO, higher setting always get you more noise, that's the one thing that always remains the same. You also may be able to cut it with a parametric EQ but I'm thinking this won't help the buzz, it's always worth a try though. I'm think it's more of a level issue.

That's kind of interesting about Class-B Pentode being more efficient, just so happens I like that topology and exclusively use it. :)

DT50HD Output Suddenly Went Silent, Any Ideas Why? And More...
Brazzy replied to Brazzy's topic in DT50 / DT25
Hey mtreehugger, Hope things are rock'in for ya. I saw that in he was using JJ's in that thread you spoke of, thanks. I'm one that likes to heed the recommendation of the Line 6 Staff and I'll be using EH tubes that are supposed to go in my amp. They have good reason to tell me to use a particular tube. Although others have used JJ's in the pre and power amp sections of their DT's with success doesn't mean it will work for me, lol. I'm not an amp tech but I think I would like to learn how to be in the future. I'm sure I could handle building one of those all tube amp kits too, maybe one day, lol. In the meantime I'll heed the recommendations of the people who made the amp, like a good boy. :) BTW, my DT50HD still sounds great. I don't use the L6 Link instead I go into the front with the guitar and change setting via HD500 MIDI or iPad MIDI. Works great. Also, I plug my Beat Buddy into the amps effects return at the same time and play with the drums. If I don't use the Beat Buddy I'll the take the L 1/4" analog out from my KB37 and run that into the effect return and control drums and keys with the computer. It's fun for me right now, lol.- 56 replies

DT50HD Output Suddenly Went Silent, Any Ideas Why? And More...
Brazzy replied to Brazzy's topic in DT50 / DT25
Hey jamesnlcc1, That is very strange thing going on with your DT25 and I hope you can get fixed. I don't have an answer for you or any idea where to tell you to look. Since you smelled something burn it's safe to say a component such as a resistor has burned, could be something else though. You might want to seek professional help with this issue. If you decide to probe around inside that amp always be careful of the potential to get electrocuted. Please be safe and ask a lot of questions before touching the components inside. Have you made a thread on this subject? If not you should do that so others may find what you post easier. Someone who has more knowledge on it might pop in with some good info. Also, did you buy this amp new? If so Line 6 may still help you with it. If so you should call them and/or do a support ticket. I've had good experiences with the busy guys at Line 6, I think they're good people by experience. If you think you can safely get the chassis out you should take some high definition photos of different parts of the circuitry and post them in a thread or here so others and I can look for possible burnt components or areas that may need attention but that may not be the say all end all of your problem. Hopefully this helps some, it's a hard thing when ones amp breaks down. Remember, the more info you can provide the better but you may need a good tech and I would recommend the people specialized in the Line 6 DT series amps since not every tech will have sufficient knowledge, in my experience.- 56 replies

I am just sooo confused about the Lin 6 product line???
Brazzy replied to howarddavidp's topic in AMPLIFi TT/FX100
You should call Line 6 and see if you can get answers to all your questions. They're good guys there, IMO. Line 6 staff doesn't look at these forums very often. I've only seen 2 staff in all the years I've been here. -
Thanks for the heads up!
