  1. Sorry, I must've missed your post on this. I knew I couldn't be only one thinking about this since I might be the most inexperienced music guy here but I know there is a difference when going Pre or Post with Effects 'cause I'm hearing it and so I thought the Pod being a modeler it should reflect that, so I just created a new thread. Suppose this happens often, lol. And Yeah, better late than never right. :)
  2. Some great posts here in this great thread. I won't be getting a Helix anytime soon for sure unless something unusual happens, financially that is. I get the feeling that from what I've learned by using gear such as Line 6's TonePort UX2, X3 Pro, HD500 and KB37 that I would be able to get good tone happily, quickly and easily with the Helix. I just get that feeling with the experience I've gained and from what I've seen in the video's, ad's and specs description. I'm sure whomever gets the Helix is going to really enjoy it.
  3. This is teasing me something fierce, lol. Nice deal man!
  4. The Dell Speakers you have aren't stereo? I tried looking them up and it looks like their stereo but I might be mistaken. Try using a stereo adapter if you have one. You'll be happier if you use a descent stereo powered speakers FRFR and run the 1/4" analog outs into them respectively. A nice set of stereo computer speakers can work good too. Sometimes I just run the headphones out into TV Speakers (Samsung).
  5. Thanks for your input on this friend! I missed that idea scale post or I would've voted it up for sure. I understand what you mean concerning the rest of your post and value your opinion. I'm enjoying what I got now and am getting to have more fun than ever jamm'in to drummers every now and then.
  6. Thanks Phil! Who knows I may end up with a Helix someday. :) I'm really happy with all my Line 6 purchases and with their customer service and tech dept. I've been really enjoying the DT50HD lately and as I get better with dialing it in I'm liking it even more.
  7. Or did I miss something? This may have been asked before but I was curious if anyone else has asked themselves this question. Are there any modelers that work this way?
  8. I use MIDI In cable from the Pod to the DT to switch channels or just assign a footswitch to the amp model I want to use. Doing it this way I can either go into the pod with my guitar and use the footpedal for wah or volume but most of the time I just plug the guitar into the front of the DT and just use the pod as a midi switch. You can also use the 4 cable method so you can use the FX loop to put effects into the power amp of the amp. There are so many ways to do it, it blows my mind but I'm finally getting it and I only have one DT50HD, lol. Don't give up you'll figure it out and probably like the options. Look up the manuals for the DT MIDI Implementation guide and try to learn the MIDI side of it. You can still use the L6 Link and assign a footswitch to change the Amps channels. Also, I think if your using the L6 Link and disable the amp in path A the DT channel will change to B. Anyways, so much to say (see), so much to do, you'll never know if you don't go.........and try stuff ~ Smash Mouth Rock Star lyrics. 9. Ahahahaaaaa, Your Welcome, Thanks for sharing it 'cause I really didn't know about it.
  10. Yo BillBee Thanks! Good One!! LOL You mean this one? https://www.youtube.com/embed/008BPUdQ1XA
  11. I was checking out this thread that someone created about "How to dial in an amp" so I figured I'd share it here. I found one post particularly interesting. The link to it > http://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/good-sites-to-learn-how-to-dial-in-an-amp.1596818/#post-20271733 Anyone use this method of dialing in their amp?
  12. I may've never even seen this fraudulent thing that you guys found if you didn't post anything about it. It's nice t know you reported it and that your hearts in a good place. cruisinon2 has a good point in that if you don't buy what they peddle they become null and void, of course there's always the unsuspecting victim of fraud. If a person does a bit of research before buying anything he/she is interested in, the fraud trap window gets significantly smaller. Buying things spontaneously can be very dangerous too. The very wary, trophy, white tail buck doesn't live to see many years of life by being unwary, of course there's always the lucky ones, lol. "Ignorance is Bliss" but "Knowledge is Power"
  13. So simple yet elusive. I might have done that once. Glad ya found it.
  14. Maybe the headphones out jack components need to be cleaned. If you have deoxit you could spray some on the phones jack and quickly run it in and out the headphones out jack. Maybe that'll help the connection.
  15. Yep you can do that. The XLR from the VK II is mic level. In fact I've got a VK II 20MH and do this with my KB 37.
  16. You sh/ttin me?!!! That's too freak in funny. I needed that "A". Thanks Man.
  17. I've got to agree. The DT50 has great tone. I love the sound of it and the variety of configurations it offers. I'm only using 1 DT25 Ext. Cab too. To keep things in perspective, I don't have the kind of experience with amp as spaceatl.
  18. Holy CRAPS! I hear Ya. I remember yeeeeaaaaars ago a group of guys that were in a fast food place, nobody really paid any attention to, went to the crapper one by one, by the time they were done... the toilet bowl looked like a giant bowl of chocolate ice cream. People can be very disgusting, I agree.
  19. I hear Ya's. It can be a test of patience and will power for sure. I think everyone should have a go at it but it must be at least as long as it takes to have the cuss'in customer in front of you cuss'in about someth'in you had nuth'in to do with except being associated with a company, lol. I mean to say it's an experience that one should be able to say they have under their belts, hehehe :). Thanks for the responses and I hope more chime in.
  20. Took me while to figure this out but it popped into my head after dealing with the public behind a counter but here it is. A "customer" is some one who will eventually "cuss to me" their problems, LOL, just add an "r" at the end of 'cuss-to-me' and you've got customer. Yes I've got a really good amount of time dealing with the general public in a certain area which I will not mention. I always appreciated the the ones that didn't cuss the most although some of the ones that cussed a lot had potential to be very entertaining, lol. Can anyone else relate to this? Hope everyone has a Great Day!

There isn't a save button. Once you change a setting it's saved. Your going to have to try changing things and testing to see how the changes you make stick. This is what I had to do to be sure of how the DT responds to dtedit program. The lack of info related to this program certainly does not help but this is the way it is. The drive, bass, mid, treble, pres, reverb and volume knobs will change the settings if moved so if your trying to make a change of these parameters stick with dtedit be ready for them to change, if you know what I mean. If you make changes to the reverb settings such ad predelay, delay and tone they will stick....I think, lol.

I've never seen a manual for dtedit but you can read the project page which has info about tips on using it and known bugs associated with the program > https://code.google.com/p/dtedit/ How I use it is....first I hook up the MIDI cable to my computer and make sure it's using the latest driver, then I plug in to my amp (in & out) and turn on the amp. Then I open dtedit and I'm ready to start tweaking. Also a link to the archived thread about dtedit http://line6.com/supportarchivenew/thread/89457

You will need to hook up a usb MIDI interface such as the M Audio Midisport UNO
  24. The 12AX7 Boost works good. You can also switch from 25 Watt Mode to 50 Watt Mode. I've got more things to try, lol.
  25. Nice post and comparison. Thanks for sharing that. It's been a while since I used the L6 Link but I'm pretty sure it sounded compressed also at least compared to going into the front of the amp. The other day I was using the Pod's MIDI and the signal chain by going into the Pod with my guitar and out the 1/4" L Mono into the front of the DT. This way I was able to control using MIDI and also add a compressor, distortion or wah in front of the DT. This worked good too. If you do this you must understand that if you want to use the MIDI you need to be on that screen (press and hold the Pods MOVE button) and if you want to change a patch or turn on/off an effect you must be looking at the "Signal Chain". I've been recording my moves via MIDI with the "MIDI Mobilizer II" and an old iPad so I can access my moves with it without having to go from screen to screen. I'm still trying to get better with this. It's pretty neat too. I know there are other MIDI controllers out there but since I have this one I'm trying to use it the best I can, lol.
