Enjoy I really like my 170 I almost bought the 700 but I wasnt really sure if my 212 would have handled it.The 170 is plenty loud and if I ever get another 212 I might get the 700.I have a helix patch with just some effects and it sounds good thru the 170. I usally use a sim amp and cab they all sound great.

List your real Overdrive Pedals that you use with Helix
cgar18 replied to vertibration's topic in Helix
I picked up a Fulltone OCD,the helix does a good job but the real pedal just really sounds full Im not knocking the helix version at all it sounds pretty close, beisdes I can now use the ocd pedal with my peavey delta blues 115 also. -
The tablet bluetooth part was something i never liked I wish it had a pc editor.THe sounds are ok I was happier with my pod and the helix is just the best out of all, that is what I use mainly. If I was you I would try a hd 500 first before a firehawk.

yeah I might take a leap of faith because I dont want to be one of those guys who plays a guitar in a store then buys it online.Zzsounds isnt making it easier for me to resist.I saw this on you tube site and the guy played it thru a clean amp.
-
Yeah thats what I want up o a certain price.Ive played squires and owned a mexican and cheaper strat highway one and it just didint do it.There is of course a price I would not go over.THis video makes a good point at the end about the crazy prices of guitars. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuHoEBoAoTM

ok well first day playing it more and yes it gets loud Im sure it will be good for mid size bars anything bigger with this and a helx im sure you will be runnin it to foh and this will be good for backline. If you band plays louder than this thing then they need a good talking to hahaha.I never played with a band that was really loud we were old school break down the volume when vocals are going then bring it up duirng chorus and solos but not overpowering.Blasting in a bar just creates a wall of sound not music.

im sorry but imo opinion I rather save or make monthly payments if you live in the US at zzsounds and get a helix LT or original.I have the firehawk and Im just looking to get rid of it,it was an impulse buy on my part and not a good fit for me.Since i bought the helix i really havent played it much at all.just my opinion but I think you will enjoy the helix alot more.P/S I got mine a zzsounds 84.00 month for 12 months

yes Fernandez were nice guitars I haven't seen one in person in years.Last time I saw them was (big SIGH)on 48st Rudy's music store back in the (sigh again) 80's where I worked and love and will always miss and love the 48 st Music Row!!!! I just didnt own a really decent strat in years I mentione it in my first post I had highway one strats and a MIM one and I switched out pickups but it didnt do it for me so I got rid of them.So the search begins I welcome a G&L Fenandes or any other strat type.I kind of like that olive green one in the video.
-
I understand that but you need a good starting point, like the green strat he is playing.I have a korean prs se custom that has a push pull but Im not gonna get a good strat sound out of it,i guess someone could but not me.
-
well im using it at home with out a amp and cab sim it needs to be turned up a bit with an amp and cab sim it gets prettty loud. Ill try it again during the day and see if it gets loud. it seems to be loud enough, then again the band I played with I was able to use a 112 marshall and played a decent size bar.If not there is the 700.

so far it sounds pretty freaking good with my helix.I have to play with it some more with just the effects but when I use the helix amps and cabs it works well with the 170.I have it going thru a blackstar 212 cabinet,I forget the model its a low price one but it sounds good.I also own 2 mackie thumps 112 and im doing an a b comparison and the 170 once again sounds good. I alos have an SD pickup booster going thru the helix fx loop that pedal adds so much to the sound I freaking love it.

nice cool to have great options.I didnt mean to turn this into a strat forum but its kind of helix lt fault.I get a great twin sound prs amp marshall sound and other amps I never used in real life and I just felt with a good strat I can really enjoy all of the amps more. Not that I dont enjoy them now but I lack a good strat type guitar that I realize i cant be with out. https://deanzelinsky.com/z-glide-guitars/tagliare-z-glide-custom

yeah Ive heard a few of suhr sound good but a bit out of my budget.LIke I said I was just wondering how the new 2017 Fender American Professional Series played I found this on you tube I like the clean sound.
-
thank you I was just wondering how the new strats were I know the sound is a combination of effects amps so on but I just wanted a good strat sound, all of the strats I've owned were highway ones. They werent the greatest.
-
I had 3 strats but nothing amazing now Im looking for another one does anyone have a 2017 strat? this guy has a great sound

Ok im just being simple minded but how about just switching the usb cable.Or maybe moving it to another usb port.
-
Duuuuude thanks for that info. I was hearing lots if bass when I thought it was flat so im glad someone else pointed out that the thump is very bassy. I know its advertised as that but I didn't think it would be that much bass. Thnx again im gonna go and try that setup.

Any way you guys can model a Andy timmons drive? Ive heard it on you tube videos and it sounds great.I really dont have money to get one soon but might have to unless there is and update. That and echoplex ep 103 mxr carbon copy boss CS-3 just to name a few.wishful thinking!!! I can dream.
-
My Buttocks hurts from all the hours I spent sitting down playing with the helix. Is that a good enough endorsement?
-
Any one in here uses this with their helix? I just bought a second one and I like it.
-
U have 1 Thump 12 it is a bit bassy but sound good I have the bass and treble set in the middle so I guess I can make it less bassy. The new ones look like the altos maybe they will be differnt and not much bass. From what I hear on you tube the alto has a good midrange sound to it.
-
I was going to buy the altos which keeps getting good reviews on here but now Ill wait and see how these are. I like the fact that they look like the altos so we will see.http://www.zzounds.com/lp/mackie-thump-pa-system-giveaway
