  1. Read the manual its really that simple, once you see what all the dials and buttons do then its a matter of time to discover the sounds you like, also this is the guy to watch after you figure out the the knobs and buttons,if you don't find him helpful then you can forget using it.Sorry but if you can use a smartpohone you can figure this out, getting the right tone is a matter of time and patience.

    Tube amps Gone?

Wow time flies. I found the best combo for me is the Seymour Duncan powerstage 170 with my blackstar 212 cabinet and I really like it alot. I sold my amps because i had to move but I probably wpuld have kept them because they were cool, but my helix does everything i need it to do.
  3. Honestly? Read the manual Im not being an lollipop Im serious thats how i figured out alot and I watched videos

    My Humble Studio

    this is humble
  5. Just bought one yesterday it works just fine plug and go.im using it to set different setting in gain delay volume, but it didn't feel so good as a wah.BTW do you think its ok to use a wah between my guitar and helix, using it in the guitar input of helix?
  6. im glad i saw this post because since i put the pad on I think im gonna keep it on,it smooth out the sound for me.
  7. i had a blackstar ht60 and did the 4cm and it was fine I used the sim with out cabs and also with it depends on the amp.after adjusting and playing with the cabs it worked out fine.I had to get rid if the amp and I now use a Seymour Duncan powerstage 170 with a blackstair 212 can.works well.I had a mackie12 thump and switched to the SD.
  8. I have one and I really like it.I use it with a blackstar 212 cab its loud enough for small clubs.I like that it has a 3 band eq so it great to set the helix up and if i need to tweak it I dont have to go onto the helix I just use the eq on the SD.

    Im done!!

custom tones has some of his settings basically just minus the amps and you have his templates.its gain split compressor eq reverb at the end of chain. or watch an earlier video of his and he explains it. this is where he used the slit method and basically he uses the same template with a few chafes look at his vids.

    Im done!!

I think I found my amp,wow something about that clean friedman that makes this unit freaking incredible.I mean for 1000 I now get this great clean amp.I freaking appreciate the value and what i get with the helix I would have spent over 2000 just getting the right equipment for the sound i want and one patch covers it all,and i have many other options. That last update imo was really good.I want to thank this guy for sharing his videos,he has helped me alot in getting a sound I want and I use his templates for all of my patches.https://www.facebook.com/jasonsaditesmusic/
  11. tell us what you think.I wanted to try one myself because im a man child and i want new toys.
  12. i play at home with the hope of one day playing out again, but regardless for me inspiration comes with a good sound.I use a 212 cab with a seymore duncan powerstage 170 it gives me great sound so imo I would go with at least the 12 inch alto and if you have money get a second one runin stereo should make you a happy player. If you have a helix one again my opinion why not pair it up with something nice?
  13. Yes it could be fizzy and you need to adjust it but imo i think it depends what you are playing it thru.I had a balckstar ht 60 and i used the 4cm and I also had 15 inch speakers frfr witha powr amp I had mackie thumps 12 and i even used roland 10 inch drum monitors. Then I bought a power stage 170 and use it with a 212 blackstar and so far its the best combo.Yes its might add a bit clor to sound im not gonna go crazy and tech about it,it just sound smooth and better than every else i used

    my setup!!

yes it does i wish i went for the reg helix so i can have more return and send but it works fine like this. Also the scribble pad looks cool.

    my setup!!

I just wan to mention that the helix is a great unit I love it.I dont want people to think when they see my setup that there is anything wrong with the helix effects. The helix alone is great and i get great sounds out of it but i just really liked these pedals alot, it's like having a great dish with some added spice.I have and OCD pedal and the helix OCD pedal is right on.

    my setup!!

it gets pretty loud.At first for some presets you have to put it on 10 oclock but i crank up the volume on presets and dial back on the powerstage. It gets pretty ;loud like my 212 ht60 blackstar.

    my setup!!

So far this is the way to go(for me) it sound pretty close to direct out and it kind of smooths out the sound a bit.My powerstage 170 and underneath the table is a blackstar 212. I might get a 412 cabinet im gonna look around for a good cab.
  18. have an mt 2 i think you can play a banjo in a metal band with that pedal, its an entertaining pedal never got rid of it.So I would try a ANGL Meteor with a Compulsive Drive and a Red Squeeze it should be a good starting point.
  19. I used the 4cm with my blackstar ht 60 and it was fine, but now i use the seymore duncan powerstage 170 with my blackstar 212 cab and I like it alot more.I like my setup better than the frfr setup i was using it sounds better and I can tweak the eq with the powerstage if i need to something I could not do using the 4cm.
  20. you are just gonna get different opinions. This is how i decided if it was something that i can work with and use.
