  1. Last week I got my POD HD500x back from repairs thinking it was my POD not working. What is happening is when I have my JTV-69s plugged in via the VDI cable and power up the POD, when I make my first patch selection the POD reboots. After that is works fine. So the repair person suggested trying my guitar on another 500x to see if it does the same and that it does, it made that one reboot too. So it's my JTV. I then rolled back the FW from v2.0 back to v1.9 and this problem goes away. I know others have had different issues with v2.0 but I haven't read any post that have v2.0 do this. Guess I'll be staying on v1.9 till a new firmware comes out and see if the updated one fixes this issue for me. Here is link to the video of what it does: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/11788446/IMG_1790.MOV Jd
  2. Radatats, My bad. I figured it out. It's a setlist and not a bank for import into the HD500x. These are great. Thanks for putting this out there. Jd
  3. Radatats, I finally got my POD HD500x back from repairs, turns out it my be my JTV guitar causing the issues. Anyways, I was trying to get your patches into my POD. I'm guessing you have a POD HD500 and not 500x as it doesn't want to load the file I downloaded. I even tried changing the extension to try to make it work. Help!!!! Jd
  4. Another thing to keep in mind is you will have to have the 1/4" cable plugged in or the VDI cable to the JTV or nothing will light up.
  5. Peter, "Preset" would save the tuning with each individual patch you create or edit. "Global" is just that, it's tuning is setup so if you change from patch to patch it's the same on all selected. So you'd have to use the Preset to then see/use the 8/10 as you must have it in the Global setting elsewhere. Hope that makes sense. Jd
  6. Radatats, I tried looking this up in Customtone but don't see it at all. Would you be so kind to send it to me in a private message, that would be much appriciated. Jd Thanks!!!
  7. I had the same issue with a few of the cables I've bought, that it didn't feel like a guitar cable. I did finally come across this Bose T1 Tonematch Ethercon Digital Cable for L1 System and it works great. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bose-T1-Tonematch-Ethercon-Digital-Cable-for-L1-System-/111258495296?pt=US_Pro_Audio_Speakers_Monitors&hash=item19e785e940 Jd
  8. Milesargall, Yes you can use the HD500 patches in the HD500x. When you download the patch from CustomTone site, you just need to change the extention on the file from ".h5e" or "l6t" to ".5xe" when using POD HD 500x edit program. Hope this helps. Jd
  9. I use 9's on my JTV69s and also having played for so many years a step down I had to adjust the springs and action.
  10. I've read in an other post elsewhere here about someone moding a MIDI wireless unit to work with the VDI. http://line6.com/support/topic/574-help-with-wireless-variax-please/?hl=%2Bmidi+%2Bwireless Worth a read at least. Jd
  11. The pots, pickups, pickup selector, and tuning wheel are all screwed to the pickguard. Once you pull that off there are wires that feed to the battery compartment and to piezo pickups. Jd
  12. Ponyk, if you haven't figured it out yet the VDI cable will not charge the battery in the Variax.
  13. You should look into the 4 cable method to connect to your tube amp. Here is a example, just don't worry about the second path on it. http://line6.com/support/topic/3529-4-cable-methoddual-pathshelp/?hl=%2Bcable+%2Bmethod Jd
  14. Brazzy, you maybe correct that it's a setting with his software/Focusrite interface settings. Here is how I have mine setup, JTV-69s into POD HD500x via VDI, POD to DT25 via L6 cable. DT25 is in LVM and in Standby on. Master Volume on DT25 is at 2 o'clock. My mistake with my earlier post, I going into a Mackie Onyx800R, channel gain is set to 30dB and it sounds good into ProTools.
  15. I have a similar setup DT25, POD HD500x going out the simulated cabinet direct out to a Presonus Digimax Pre into ProTools. I'm not having this issue you are describing. I run the DT25 in bypass and Low Volume Mode. I'll post later what my levels are set at once I'm in front of my gear.
  16. I had this error of 8000000A also when trying to update. I also registered my DT25 and tried again, nope. Then I read the instructions on the Flash Memory download page: Procedure: Connect your MIDI interface to your computer via USB cable Connect the DT25 MIDI Output to your MIDI interface Input, and connect the DT25 MIDI Input to your MIDI interface Output Launch the Line 6 Monkey with the DT25 connected via the MIDI interface and powered on Select the Flash Memory line item and click the Update Selection button to install the flash memory update into the DT25 The device will receive the firmware data and the unit will be updated to the latest Firmware My mistake was using only one midi cable. Once I connected the other Midi cable to the DT25 Midi Out to the Midi In on my Midiman 1x1 connected to my Mac the update worked. When the update is being done all lights on the DT25 amp are on. After the update the Monkey shows the updated firmware as 2.0, this didn't show anything before it updated, just the usual warrning Triangle with the ! in the middle. Hope this helps someone. Jd
  17. I ordered a Sonic Port and got it this week. I could use it with my iPad but not with my iPhone 5. So I took it back for a refund. :-(
  18. I have my new JTV-69s with HD 2.0 and a Variax 500 with v1.9 but at this point now use the 69 more.
