Pod Go FX loop doesn't work with my Roland JC-120 FX loop
silverhead replied to EVargas1959's topic in POD Go
You could also use the POD Go in front of your amp, instead of in its FX Loop. In that case, connect your guitar to the POD Go Guitar input and connect the POD Go Amp Out jack to your amp’s guitar input. -

In addition to connecting the cables as described did you also set the POD Go Main output level to Instrument (or Amp)? -

A quick Look at the JC-120 features shows the FX Loop applies only to Channel 2. I presume that’s what you’re using? Also try moving the Level switch for the FX Loop on your amp. -

Does the POD Go alone work OK without your amp? Does it produce sound? -
Pod Go FX loop doesn't work with my Roland JC-120 FX loop
silverhead replied to EVargas1959's topic in POD Go
I deleted my previous post because it was misleading. The POD Go FX Loop is a single block in the POD Go preset signal chain meaning there is no separation and hence no signal processing between the Send and Return jacks. It’s designed to send a partially processed POD Go signal to an external device and receive the further-processed signal back from the other device to continue the processing within the POD Go preset. It’s not designed for the reverse, as you are trying to use it. Try connecting your amp’s Send to the POD Go Guitar input and connect the POD Go Main output to your amp’s Return. If necessary set both your amp’s Send and the POD Go Main output to Instrument level. Deactivate the amp/cab in the POD Go preset; use only FX blocks. For maximum flexibility using both your amp and the POD Go use the 4-Cable Method connections as described in the Setup section of the POD Go manual. -
Helix Stadium Looper - Did Line6 really forgot the quantize function???
silverhead replied to enjalt's topic in Helix Stadium
No, they didn’t forget. The Looper in Line 6 products has never been quantized and it still isn’t. Nor is it permanently stored; it disappears on device shutdown. It’s perfectly adequate for its intended use: practice and hands-free tone shaping. It’s not intended for backing tracks during live play. The introduction of the Showcase feature (coming soon) in Helix Stadium provides permanent storage and playback of backing tracks and makes a quantized looper redundant. Showcase Songs can be assigned a tempo. -
OK - thanks. No, the indicator is not gone. Helix Stadium XL displays the active assignment in the same space above the pedal. The online manual is available now; you'll see the display indicator on the Quick Start -> Top panel and Footswitches page.

Not sure what you mean. Can you elaborate? The Vol pedal can be assigned as a FX block at any point in a preset’s signal chain as before, and will appear in the LCD display.

Expression Pedal Control of Output Volumes?
silverhead replied to rondesjardins's topic in Helix Stadium
The Matrix mixer operates globally; you can't set the Showcase Song level per preset. You can assign the Level of an Output block to an expression pedal, but that only applies to the Output block of a preset. It does not apply to the Matrix output level of the Showcase Song (your looper backing tracks). This can be useful to dynamically balance the preset level with the backing track level. You adjust the preset level up/down depending on the backing track level. But this won't affect the level of your Beatbuddy. Seems to me that your problem, as I understand it, is that your backing tracks are not properly levelled relative to each other. Some backing tracks appear to be louder/softer than others so you want to compensate by adjusting other levels. I think the best solution for this issue is to level the backing tracks before importing them into Showcase. Once your backing tracks are leveled they will sit well in the mix with your Beatbuddy and your preset levels (assuming they too are balanced among themselves). Then you set the Matrix levels globally and you don't need to think about it again; no expression pedal required. -
Eventually? Maybe. But nobody here knows. If it’s in the plans only Line 6 knows and they generally don’t announce features in advance.

Stadium and Variax
silverhead replied to rwinking's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Extra hardware (the Expand D-10 unit) is required for Variax interaction with Stadium. The reasoning behind that seems clear. Variax users represent a very small percentage of Helix Stadium owners. As recently as the Helix product Variax support was included in the main hardware. This meant that all owners paid for a feature that was used by only a few. With Helix Stadium the cost of Variax support is paid only by Variax users. While that business decision may be disappointing to Variax users it may be welcomed by everyone else. The Stadium device costs less than it otherwise would. btw… the same applies to Powercab owners. L6 Link functionality also requires additional hardware. -
Expression Pedal Control of Output Volumes?
silverhead replied to rondesjardins's topic in Helix Stadium
I would use the Matrix feature to balance the output level of the Songs (backing tracks) with your preset levels. Stadium is a different beast and it’s not always best to try to do things the Helix way. The online Helix Stadium manual is available now, accessible in the Support -> Manuals area. Check out the Matrix (section is found in Quick Start -> Display area of manual’s Table of Contents). -
I’m not sure I understand the latency you describe. Can you attach a preset that demonstrates this?

IR loading in new firmware? Is pod express abandomned by Line6?
silverhead replied to nizmememmn's topic in POD Express
When and how did you get the expectation that an IR loader would ever be implemented? Is that just a hope on your part or do you have any evidence of this intent on the part of Line6? -

silverhead replied to nizmememmn's topic in POD Express
No, not abandoned. It’s still being manufactured and supported. You are disappointed that there have been no updates or new features. Clearly you expect some. Why? Has Line 6 indicated that there would be updates by this time? -
I have two observations, neither of which have to do with your Global EQ settings: 1) If you never want to use amp models and are just looking for FX, sell your POD Go and pick up an HX FX device. That will be the best bang for your buck. No waste of $$ on stuff you won’t use, and up to 6 simultaneous FX blocks with no more DSP issues. Sounds like the amp modeling available in the Catalyst will suffice for your needs when you want to branch out from the Deluxe. 2) Global EQ is primarily intended to be used to fine tune your EQ when playing in different venues . It’s not really intended to be a fixed, static EQ block that’s baked into all your presets at the end of the signal chain. Rather it’s intended to be a way to adapt all your presets to a different room, without needing to change every preset. So. nothing wrong with doing what you’re doing but, imho, It’s not the best setup you could have. If you’re happy with the setup and settings you have then carry on!

Total noob question - using Helix Floor purely as an effects unit
silverhead replied to Mastodon2's topic in Helix
I suggest you use the 4-cable method (4CM). That setup is described in the manual as one of the options for connecting to other equipment. It allows you to use Helix FX both before and after your amp in the signal chain, so you can position some FX (e.g. dynamics, distortion) before your amp’s preamp section, and some FX (delay, modulation, reverb) after your preamp but before the cab/speaker. In your Helix preset place the FX Loop block in the signal chain where you want to send the signal to the physical amp’s guitar input. Try the setup as described in the manual and come back with further questions if necessary. -
Re-installed OS - how can I get Metallurgy Back?
silverhead replied to BryanMichael's topic in Metallurgy Collection
Not sure this is the way to do it, but I would try running Line 6 License Manager while logged into your account. You might also try authorizing your (perceived as new) computer within your Line 6 account. If those things fail I’m sure opening a support ticket will get things resolved. -

How to make Gearbox work as a VST plugin?
silverhead replied to aleshin's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
An audio interface is a (usually external - not part of your computer) device that accepts your analog guitar (or other) input, converts it to a digital signal, and passes it through to your computer for digital processing, e.g. in a DAW. You mention a soundcard. Do you connect your guitar cable directly to your soundcard? If not, what do you connect it to? There are other VSTs in your picture - e.g. Amplitube. Do those work OK? -
How to make Gearbox work as a VST plugin?
silverhead replied to aleshin's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
What audio interface device are you using? Your version of Gearbox may require a Line 6 interface to work. The license is tied to the hardware. -
The Gearbox-like plugin is called Pod Farm. A license for the original Pod Farm product was included with many Line 6 audio interface products that are now discontinued, and that version of POD Farm would not work with other audio interfaces. A license for the current POD Farm 2 product, which works with any ASIO audio interface can be purchased. Of course, more recently Helix Native was released. It’s a superior plugin that can replace POD Farm.

See pages 15 and 48 in the Pilot's Guide Rev A v1.0. Since you've read this already, please be specific about what you don't understand, or what is not working for you.
-
OK - now we can understand your question better. What foot controller are you using? Also, good to know that you read the manual. You hadn't mentioned that, and many people don't so I referred you to it.

Helix Native using FX loop on physical amp
silverhead replied to deanwitherden's topic in Helix Native
Please provide details about your physical setup. Amp? Audio Interface? DAW? Computer? Are you mic’ing the amp into your interface or going direct (bypassing your amp’s speaker/cab)?
