  1. The HX FX device excludes amp/cab modeling. You can find HX FX presets in the Customtone area of this website (see top of this page). You can use HX Edit (I think - or Helix Native) to load these presets into your LT device.
  2. I asked because it is known that startup is quite prolonged after new IRs are added. But that may not explain your situation since you haven't added IRs recently.
  3. Maybe running the Line 6 License Manager will restore your Platinum. I believe the old UX2 models included a license for POD Farm Standard (pre-2.5 version). That may have been installed, overwriting your Platinum license. If that doesn’t work I would open a support ticket.
  4. Not at this time. There’s a feature request in for that. Please submit your own request - the more requests the more likely it will come. https://line6.com/company/contact/productfeedback/
  5. There’s no official word that I know of from Line 6 about their reasoning for this, but I expect you hit the nail on the head: a more competitive price point for the vast majority of potential customers who own neither a Variax nor a PowerCab. The few who do own one or both of these (myself included) are the ones who will have to pay for additional functionality that they want. Those who don’t want it won’t have to pay for it. Personally, I wish they had taken it one step further and offered 3 such specialized devices: one for just the VDI interface, one for just the L6 Link interface, and one for both. That way I wouldn’t have to pay for your L6 Link and you wouldn’t have to pay for my VDI.
  6. Open a support ticket. Meanwhile someone else may be have another suggestion.
  7. Try logging in to your Line 6 account within Helix Native (bottom left corner of HN window).
  8. Final suggestion: as you use each factory preset you might want to copy it first to a USER a preset location before you edit/save it. That way you preserve the original in case you want it again.
  9. OK. Then I think you’re stuck with editing the factory presets as you use them. You can still create the baseline USER preset and start with it if/when you want to create your own tones. Most of all…. Have Fun!
  10. Frankly, I don’t think the X3 is the best choice for your use case but I might be misinterpreting your intentions. You might want to keep an eye out for a good deal on the Line 6 HX FX unit. If you don’t want amp/cab modelling (do you?) and you do want stereo inputs the HX FX is a better option.
  11. There is no global setting for X3 inputs. You can create and save a preset with the Input settings you want and then use that as a starting point every time you want to create a new preset.
  12. You’re right. Note on/off messages are not currently supported when using Song MIDI flags. However the keyword is ‘currently’. The manual uses that word, implying that other MIDI commands might be added someday. No idea when, if, or whether Note commands might be added. I suggest you submit a feature request for this.
  13. Also, you may need to boost the input signal before it enters the Helix device. I need to do that with an acoustic guitar that has passive piezo pickups (no onboard preamp). Recording the dry input signal direct from the guitar results in a very low signal, not a completely flat waveform but close to it.
  14. These two statements seem contradictory to me. A completely flat waveform should be silent, no? Are you able to hear the dry signal at all during playback? If so, seems the waveform is not completely flat. If you can’t hear it then it wasn’t recorded correctly.
  15. You can download and install the Helix Native plug-in software on a trial basis. It has a Hardware Compatibility mode which allows you to edit and save presets in a format compatible with the specific constraints of each Helix hardware device. So you should be able to, for instance, load a Helix Floor preset into Helix Native while in the Floor compatibility mode. Then you can edit the preset within Helix Native, removing blocks until you can successfully change the Hardware Mode to HX Stomp with the preset loaded. After Saving it as an HX Stomp preset you should be able to load it successfully into HX Edit for transfer to your Stomp device. For details, consult the Helix Native manual.
  16. Anyone who wants to see this feature added can submit a feature request here: https://line6.com/company/contact/productfeedback/
  17. You are probably aware that using Snapshots within a preset eliminates the gap while permitting significant tone changes.
  18. No, Showcase cannot respond to external midi commands at this time. A feature request for this has been submitted by several users. You can add your request here: https://line6.com/company/contact/productfeedback/
  19. Just another thought…. I don’t know if the default presets can be overwritten. If so, and depending on the history of your device, the current presets may not be the default set. Perhaps the default set is more ordered and predictable? If you pursue this possibility make sure you back up the current set before resetting the device to the factory (default) state.
  20. Yes, I can see that the default presets seem to be in random order. The midi program number of a specific preset does not seem to be predictable (e.g. preset B of the "VINTAGE DIGITAL" setting). I guess that leaves you with a choice: abandon the idea or continue the manual task of listing the preset mapped to each program number.
