  1. It may be a design intent rather than a ‘problem’. You did not create these patches, and it’s quite common for min/max values to be reversed. I do it frequently in patches, for instance when I want to increase the Drive value of an amp I generally need to simultaneously decrease the Channel Volume to keep the overall preset volume consistent. Before looking for a way to ‘solve the problem’ I suggest you analyze the reason for the preset designer to have done that. Once you determine why it was done you can then decide whether you like that design and, if not, change the design. The solution may not be to simply make the Max value correspond to a light.
  2. You don’t mention which device you have so I don’t know which sub forum to move this thread to. It belongs in the device specific forum, not the Lounge. But in any case devices that support Snapshots usually have a Global Setting for a Snapshot Edits parameter. Make sure it’s NOT set to Discard.
  3. You can use Snapshots to do this, but amps are DSP intensive and you likely won’t be able to have more than two on the same preset. But no, you can’t directly change amp models using midi.
  4. You can’t select specific factory resets to restore so you’ll need to proceed in several steps. First use HX Edit to save all your custom presets individually to a folder on your computer. Then perform a factory reset to restore all the factory presets. Finally, import all of your individual presets into your preferred locations. If any custom preset will overwrite a factory preset that you also want to keep then you’ll need to relocate it first.
  5. Two snips from the HX Edit manual pg 31: Split Paths - To create a split (or “parallel”) path, simply drag a block down from the main signal path (Path 1A or Path 2A) and you’ll see a split path (Path B) appear, with both a Split and Merge block created at each end (as shown in images at the start of this chapter). …… Split Crossover: Splits the audio content so that treble frequencies are sent to Path A and bass frequencies are sent to Path B. Use the Frequency parameter to set the center frequency; Any signal above this frequency is sent to Path A, and any signal below this frequency is sent to Path B. If you already own the Big Helix Book of Tips and Tricks you’ll find an in-depth discussion of multiband processing as well as sample presets. If you don’t already own it you might find the cost worth it for this piece alone.
  6. There may be a routing issue in your preset. Before pursuing this possibility let’s test whether cabs and IRs work in the simplest situation from a known start point. Please do this and report back: 1) Perform a complete backup using HX Edit (see File menu). 2) Perform a factory reset by holding down FS C + D while powering on the device. 3) Import an IR block. The factory reset will have deleted all IR blocks. 4) Select a New Preset. Add an amp block, a cab block, and an IR block - nothing else. Assign the imported IR to the block in the preset. 5) Experiment with bypassing the cab and IR blocks. Alternately turn one on/off, then the other, both on, both off, etc. Do you hear any difference in the sounds? Report your findings back here. 6) When finished experimenting and coming to a conclusion about whether the blocks are actually working or not use HX Edit to Restore the backup you made in step 1. .
  7. Are you signed into your account within HX Edit (see bottom left corner of the window)?
  8. Yes you can update it without registration. You can also get it registered by contacting Line 6. More important than registration may be the discount for Helix Native that comes with each Helix device. That can only be used once per device so if the current owner has already used it you won’t be able to.
  9. From the HX Stomp manual, referring to the parameter knob controlling the Time parameter: Adjusts the delay/repeat time, with higher settings providing longer delays. Press the knob to toggle between ms and note values. Choosing a ms value provides a specific time in milliseconds; choosing a Note Division value provides a time based on the current tempo. With a note division value, this parameter’s value is retained when changing models. You may need to do some math to convert a bpm number to milliseconds (ms).Just take 60,000 (milliseconds in a minute) and divide it by the bpm value. So for example, a BPM of 120 = 60,000 / 120 = 500ms for 1 beat (1/4 note).
  10. Yes I’ve noticed this with all audio devices I’ve used with Windows since I started with the POD X3 Live in around 2009. I think it’s a Windows issue, not Line 6. For sure it’s not specifically a POD Go issue. It seems Windows does not retain the previous volume level for any connected device but starts up at 100% every time.
  11. Yes. You may have to configure your computer to use the Stomp as its audio device. The other thing you will have to do is balance the levels if you want to do things like play along with backing tracks. You can do this either by using the Stomp Global Settings control for the USB In trim or simply by using the computer’s volume control.
  12. You should be able to do it using HX Edit. If I recall correctly right click on the Snapshot name and select Rename. Don’t forget to hit the Enter key to lock in the change.
  13. I only use IRs for acoustic guitar now. No more IR cabs.
  14. In the Mac world, with which I am not familiar, I believe there’s something called an aggregate audio device that supports this.
  15. I think not. Helix uses the ASIO protocol which requires that the same audio interface device be used for both audio input and output. Hence Reaper can recognize only one of your devices at a time. There are pseudo-ASIO drivers (e.g. ASIO4ALL) that claim to be able to handle this and some people seem to have success with them. They are not supported by Line 6 and have caused issues with many computer setups.
  16. I responded to your similar question yesterday. Have you reviewed the manuals?
  17. You’re right - it’s not your phone that’s outdated. It’s the app. It hasn’t been updated in about 4 years and probably won’t be. The AMPLIFi product is discontinued.
  18. The MIDI capability in Helix isn’t sufficiently granular to target individual FX blocks. I’m not exactly clear on what you want to accomplish but you can use MIDI to load or reload a preset as well as select any snapshot within a preset. Seems to me you could arrange your snapshots appropriately, with desired FX on/off as desired, so that loading a specific snapshoto at any time should give you what you want. You may have to set the Global Setting for Snapshot Edits correctly.
  19. I presume you are using a Helix device. The firmware update procedure required you to create a system backup; that’s what the reference means. Since your presets were deleted you must have performed the recommended device reset which installed the factory presets and deleted all else. You can restore your entire device to its pre-update state using HX Edit. Select the Restore from Backup item in the File menu. When restoring the backup file If you wish to keep the new factory presets click on the triangle beside the Presets item and de-select setlists 1, 2, and 8.
  20. Back to your original issue.... While a separate mixer would be very flexible I'm not sure it will actually solve your issue. The problem you describe should be manageable using only the Helix and either its Global settings USB In trim or controlling the PC volume independently. If you can't get a suitable blend, at least for a single session, that indicates a problem that won't likely be solved by a separate mixer. I suggest you get the problem solved using your existing equipment first, then decide if a separate mixer would be useful to you. Question: can you get a decent blend/level using one Helix preset but things are unbalanced again when you switch presets? If the answer to that is yes, then your issue is preset leveling within the Helix and won't be solved with additional equipment.
  21. Make sure Reaper is configured to use the LT and it’s ASIO driver as the audio input and output device.
  22. Try updating the firmware. Launch POD Go Edit, login to your Line 6 account (see bottom left of Edit screen). Then follow all prompts carefully. You should also be able to use Lone 6 Central to perform the update.
