  1. With Snapshot Edits -> Discard any change you make to a snapshot will be discarded if you switch to another snapshot without saving the preset. With Snapshot Edits -> Recall any change you make to a snapshot will be retained if you switch to another snapshot; you don’t need to save the preset until you are finished edits to all snapshots. This behaviour hasn’t changed, and yes, it affects parameter changes as well as block bypass states.
  2. There’s no such thing as a ‘click and release’ as a single identifiable action. All functions start with the click which is critical to get the timing right on the loop start/stop functions. The release is meaningless unless it’s after a hold of sufficient duration.
  3. None of the HX family of products has built-in Bluetooth technology.
  4. Interesting request. The looper would respond to the initial push down by immediately playing back the loop before it can recognize that you are holding down the button. So you would hear the loop playback for some time interval. Is that OK with you? Because there are a number of threads here complaining about exactly that behaviour.
  5. Since you don’t plan to use amp modeling, why pay for it? Get the HX FX.
  6. There’s a section in the Workbench HD manual that described how to manage the Alt Tunings presets associated with the Alt Tuning knob. Perhaps that will help.
  7. That’s sometimes the result of a large difference in the volume levels of the two presets, or a gain staging issue within a preset. First try leveling your preset volumes. Then try using the built-in Noise Gate in the Input block.
  8. What was the device doing when it generated this message? During a firmware update? While importing presets? something else? If during a firmware update, was it before or after the device backup step? If after you have the backup file from which you can restore your setlists. If before then you can use the most recent manual setlist backups that you made (you do that regularly, don’t you?). In any case, try following the recovery procedures described here:
  9. You can still get a used Variax. There’s no ‘Ric’ model in terms of body shape and style; they come in styles of Les Paul, Stratocaster, and a more modern heavy metal look. But all of them include the Rickenbacker sound models.
  10. Actually the instructions tell you to begin by downloading and installing the HX Edit package which includes the latest Updater program. The Updater is invoked in the background but you shouldn’t even be aware of it. Try again, starting with HX Edit, and follow the instructions it provides. If it fails…..
  11. Right. Thanks for the correction and sorry for any confusion.
  12. That could be the problem. Can you test without using the USB hub? They are not recommended.
  13. Helix Native has a Hardware Compatibility setting that removes the DSP limits of any Helix device. Then the limitation becomes the power of your computer. Presumably that will allow more stuff in a HN preset.
  14. If you are trying to replicate the physical amp setup as closely as possible you should use the Amp and Cab models separately (not the Amp+Cab model) and place the Spring reverb model before the Cab. That’s where the built-in Reverb is positioned in the phyusical amp in terms of signal flow. You may already be doing this. If not give it a try. Your Mic model can also have a great effect on the tone; experiment with several different mic models.
  15. It’s probably a USB connectivity issue. Try different USB ports in your computer. If using a Windows desktop use the rear panel ports. Search this forum for related threads - there are many.
  16. The Reverb FX block must be added separately; it’s not included in the amp model. For authenticity select the Reverb model (probably a Spring reverb) that is available on the real amp. You may need to research that.
  17. See manual section 9-1 for a detailed explanation of the required button pushing. You need to first load the firmware update onto an SD card or USB drive. If your very old (apparently beta) firmware release does not show the buttons in the manual open a support ticket.
  18. Open a support ticket to report this. That’s the way to have Line 6 investigate and acknowledge a bug.
  19. Also, the Tuning knob on the JTV has a setting labelled Model. I believe it has to be set to that in order for the Workbench HD-created alternate tunings for the model to be recognized. So it may be that your alternate tunings per model have in fact been downloaded to your guitar from the Workbench HD bundle but are being suppressed by an incorrect setting of the Tuning knob for your purpose.
