Tuner not muting signal (Helix LT used 4CM with amp)
silverhead replied to Mike1225's topic in Helix
You don’t mention this. I assume you are aware of it but just in case… Make sure the Tuner Settings have the Tuner Out parameter set to Mute. -
The M20d is designed for live playing. It is not designed to be an audio interface for your DAW. It will record live playing and generate a separate WAV file for each input as well as the stereo mix of inputs. You can do this with a SD card, a USB stick, or directly to your DAW. If you used an SD card or USB stick to capture the recording you can then transfer the WAV files to your DAW and continue with overdubbing, adding tracks, etc. But you cannot use the M20d as an audio interface to your DAW.

I agree. There will be latency using Input Monitoring in the DAW with Helix Native processing and I too try to avoid it. Impossible to predict whether or not that will be a problem because it depends entirely on the DAW/computer processing power as well as his personal tolerance for latency. But if that’s what he wants to do he now knows how to do it.
-
Don’t you need to make sure your Output block excludes USB 1&2? If included won’t you hear the Helix Direct Monitoring as well as the Helix Native processed signal?

This wasn’t your query in the first place. You seem to have hijacked the query from @mg52465. Start a new thread with specific details of your query, or open a support ticket if you find the user community to be unhelpful.

There’s a section of the HX One manual the describes in detail its midi capabilities. I notice that there’s a setting regarding the preset (PC) commands. You need to make sure the MIDI PC Rx parameter is set to on. Between them the HX One and HX Stomp MIDI sections of the manuals should clarify things for you.

You don’t mention it but I presume you have a MIDI cable connecting the HX Stomp Out to the HX One In?

Line 6 is always developing the next-generation flagship product. So undoubtedly Helix will eventually be discontinued. But right now it is still being manufactured. Line 6 does not disclose product development activities or new product release plans or timing. So nobody knows the answer to your question except Line 6, and they’re not disclosing their long term plans. Short term Line 6 has announced (on TGP) that firmware v3.80 is under development and will likely be available late summer or fall this year. You may hear lots of speculation here about answers to your question, but that’s exactly what it will be - speculation. The situation you’re in is always the case with any purchase of a new electronic device. Is a next-generation release imminent? Should I buy now or wait? You can purchase today’s flagship now or wait an unknown duration until the next-gen is inevitably available. Your new Helix, if you get it, will continue to do what it now does for a long time. It won’t suddenly stop working when the next-gen is available. Meantime, it is now still being manufactured and will continue to be technically supported after it is no longer being manufactured for as long as Line 6 decide to support it. My personal speculation is that Helix will continue to be supported for several years after its successor is released, and will continue to operate for years after that. But eventually it will fail, like all electronic products including its successor.

The following paragraph in the manual is this: When a DAW track’s software monitoring is active, you’ll likely not want to hear the Helix hardware monitoring signal simultaneously. To achieve this, you can set the Helix Output block to USB Out 3/4 or 5/6. These Output block options will route your Helix-processed, stereo signal out to your DAW software without also providing the Helix hardware monitoring to USB 1/2. You’ll then need to set your DAW track to receive from the same selected Helix USB Out to record the Helix-processed signal into the track. Or, you can optionally set the DAW track input to Helix USB 7 or USB 8 to record a dry DI signal—see the next section. Does that answer your question?

3.71 Update Failed Half-way through updating firmware
silverhead replied to slowrower's topic in Helix
The latest version of Helix firmware is v3.71.0. The latest version of HX Edit is v3.70. There was a minor firmware update that did not require an HX Edit update. Make sure that you these versions installed on your computer and Helix. -
The fact that you are signed in and able to make the post that you did means that you are also able to open and reply to threads in the other sub forums. As far as I know Line 6 has designated retailers in different geographical regions throughout the world. They may not have any Line 6 inventory on hand but they can place orders and obtain the equipment for you. Use the Support tab at the top of this page, then the Contact Support link, then the link to the Distributor page. The listing for Sweden shows an address and contact info for Yamaha in Germany.

I think both XLRs as individual mono outs will be fine for your purposes unless you decide to use a stereo signal. Check the Output block to make sure the panning is centred. It breaks down with stereo which is when you would need the adapter in the L/Mono XLR output.

Why? Understanding that might help us give advice.

Of course every electronic device eventually fails, often suddenly. My personal habit is: before shutting the power off back up anything new you did and want to keep. Expect that someday, maybe tomorrow, it won't turn back on. Your X3 Pro is likely about 15 years old. Not bad for this type of device, actually. Good luck with it.

Looper issues (robotic pulsing sounds of being stuck)
silverhead replied to a6strng's topic in Helix
Could be a firmware glitch. Try restoring the Helix to factory settings (make a system backup first). If that doesn’t work try reinstalling the firmware.- 1 reply

Before giving up completely it might be worth raising a support ticket, or contact your nearest Line 6 service centre and see what it would cost to at least get a preliminary diagnosis and cost estimate if any repair is available.
-
I would contact Line 6 directly via support ticket.
-
The HX One MIDI capabilities are limited to the implementation described in the HX One manual. If that does not specify the ability to handle Note On commands as you desire then there is no workaround.
-
Is the difference so great that it makes one of the devics unusable? There is a known hardware issue in some of the early POD Go models involving impedance with the Guitar input. It’s possible that this could cause a perception of different volumes. Contact Line 6 Support to determine whether your device is affected. If so, they offer a lifetime warranty repair for this issue.

If you have any refund/return/warranty I would get it replaced. Otherwise open a support ticket.

Finding Midi mappings for controlling the M5 with Midi Baby 3
silverhead replied to loganfive's topic in M5 / M9 / M13
As the manual says: "The MIDI Reference Tables below represent the currently implemented MIDI spec." So if it ain't listed it isn't implemented. Other MIDI commands will be ignored. -
Finding Midi mappings for controlling the M5 with Midi Baby 3

The list you want is in the M5 Pilot’s Handbook, pg 8. See Support above, then Manuals, then select for M5.
