  1. Yuo could also hit the CANCEL footswitch, which is what the MODE switch changes to until you select a new preset. This cancels the preset change operation and returns you to the previous display of the current preset. Yes u will then have normal control over your footswitches during the solo.
  2. Try configuring Reaper to use your Spider amp as an Audio (not MIDI) input device. Select the word Device immediately above the highlighted MIDI Devices in the Reaper Preferences (your screenshot #3). Your Spider amp should show as one of the available audio input devices. Select it. Then after adding a track as you show in your screenshot #1 you will select Input Mono (or stereo if the Spider amp offers it).
  3. Did you have the Input Pad on when using your other guitar? If so try turning it off.
  4. Since you've said you're not a developer and hence aren't going to do this yourself, seems to me you have a choice. Either: - continue to keep this thread alive and hope someone someday will see a business case in this and develop it, or - explore your entrepreneurial self. Do your own business case analysis and determine whether it makes sense for you to hire a developer and retain ownership of the product. A key part of a business case is determining the sales and marketing channels. In this regard you may have a good answer already - persuade Line 6 that this would be a good product to add to the Helix Marketplace. That would give you instant exposure to the Helix user community with a built-in e-commerce mechanism. (And don't forget to include ongoing maintenance activities and costs in your analysis.) If that sounds daunting to you it probably would to anyone else you're hoping will pick up the torch. And then the idea will probably die right here. So, are you a budding entrepreneur?
  5. True, but it still meets the 'offline' requirement which I interpret to mean 'no Helix device connected'. Helix Native operates much like HX Edit so you will probably have the same issues. Suppose someone could develop what you want - how much would you be willing to pay for it?
  6. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by 'switching amp models' but that is normally done by switching presets. And yes, there is a noticeable delay when switching presets. Also, as you say, there is no delay when turning FX blocks on/off within a preset. It's the preset switching that takes time because internal memory is being reloaded with a new preset definition. The M9 uses the concept of 'scenes' rather than presets. I'm not 100% sure but I expect the behaviour would be analogous. I would expect a short audio dropout (not as long as the Firehawk due to less complexity) when switching scenes but not when turning FX on/off within a scene.
  7. I haven't absorbed the details of this request but I have two questions: 1 - why the need to be offline? You need the Helix to Export the presets to the Master Library in the first place, and then to import the setlists produced by this utility. Why not just use HX Edit? I understand that you don't always have your Helix with you (traveling, etc.). Do you really think it's worth the effort? Of course, it's not your effort you're talking about .... -:) 2 - Helix Native already provides most of your main requirements. Why not get it?
  8. Review the manual - the Global Settings -> Footswitches section. I believe the description there will help you understand what's going on.
  9. I would say the 59 neck resembles a Gibson Les Paul - a bit thicker/fatter. It also comes with Jumbo frets. The 69 is more like a Fender Strat neck and comes (I think) with medium frets. Based on your preference for smaller necks and fretboards I would go with the 69.
  10. I'm not sure I understand. When switching presets Helix has always loaded the Snapshot in the new preset that was active when the preset was last saved. This is not new behaviour. The Snapshot flashing/selection that you describe is the behaviour that occurs (with certain global footswitch settings) when changing snapshots within the same preset - not when switching presets.
  11. No. The filetype *.s4e is not compatible with Firehawk. The Firehawk app does not comminucate directly with a computer or your phone's local storage. It only communicates (for tone transfer purposes) with its own defined space in the Cloud. I'm not aware of any way to get that Spider IV tone converted into a compatible format and transferred into the Firehawk tone space.
  12. Snapshots allow you to change the state (on/off) of amp and FX blocks within a preset and also allow you to change the values of up to 64 parameters of the defined blocks. The specific blocks and the routing/signal flow of the preset are not changeable by snapshots. You define a preset based on the DSP and signal routing limitations of Helix and then define different states and settings of the given configuration using snapshots. Yes - there is still a short audio gap when switching presets.
  13. Snapshots. You can have up to 8 snapshots in the same preset and switch among them with no audio gap. It's well described in the manual.
  14. I don't recommend using headphones to dial in tones intended for playing live. IMO your live tones should be dialed in using equipment similar to what you will be using when playing live. If you connect Helix XLRs to a mixing board when playing live than you should dial in your tones using PA/FRFR speakers at gig volumes, or as close as you can get to that in your practice space. If you route your Helix output to a guitar amp on stage and then mic the amp to send to FOH, dial in your tomes with your amp volume set to the same level that it will be on stage. Many players maintain a separate setlist of tones for using headphones when practicing. They are generally not directly useable for live situations; significant EQ and perhaps other differences are usually required.
  15. I have been using those exact headphones with my Helix Rack for more than 2 years now. The sound is great, but it is coloured differently than the sound from the speakers connected to the board. You're probably right that the audio signal from the Helix XLRs to the board is not coloured differently than the signal from Helix headphones jack. But nobody actually hears either of those signals directly. What we hear is the sound coming from the headphones or the speakers - not the incoming audio signal. And each of those output phones/speakers will sound different, even based on the same incoming signal, because of their different characteristics. I think Fletcher-Munson has much to say about that.
  16. The number of setlists is fixed at 8. You can't add or remove any. You can export and import setlists, rename them, and populate them with different presets but there are always exactly 8 setlists.
  17. The maximum loop time is between 30 seconds (stereo at full speed) to 120 seconds (mono at half speed). You can overdub as many times as you want within the original loop - the max times are not affected by the number of overdubs. The sound quality degradation at half speed is minimal - few people would notice.
  18. Select the ‘flex’ FX block whose type you want to change. In the display area above the parameters you will see a coloured icon representing the type of FX selected (blue for Mod, green for delay, etc.). In the screen image you posted it is immediately left of the word Stomp. Click on this icon and the display should change to show the word Type. Click on that.
  19. I'm missing something here. Why is the brief silence an issue when you only need to switch presets between songs? Don't you have some moments of silence between songs? If you're clearly switching songs will the audience know/care?
  20. I believe that the app allows you to change the Type of some FX blocks (Delay, Chorus, ...). To do so select the FX block. Where you see the list of models available within that FX Type you should also see an option in the top left area of that panel that will allow you to navigate 'up' a level and select a different Type
  21. Is it possible that you are confusing patches with snapshots? Perhaps your footswitch layout is defined to switch between snapshots within a preset rather than presets within a bank? Check your Global Settings -> Footswitches.
  22. I suggest you open a support ticket. https://line6.com/account/tickets/view
  23. Acoustic guitars typically do not use any amp model at all. Try creating a preset that uses just the LA Studio compressor, the studio preamp, and optionally some chorus, delay, and reverb. Go light with the FX to start with and increase to taste. Also, the acoustic models will sound best if your Helix LT outputs go directly to a mixer or PA/FRFR speaker. The sound will not be as good if your outputs go through a guitar amp.
  24. That's explained in the manual. When you're new to a product and know nothing that's generally the best place to start.
