A Pedal Edit mode (foot operated) is available. The release notes for firmware v2.80 describe an addition to this mode as follows. It implies that some capability was already available but I can't find the associated release notes. I expect it operates in a similar fashion. Hands-free Pedal Edit for Input/Output Blocks Helix Floor, Helix Rack/Control, Helix LT In addition to Amp, Effect, Cab, IR, Split, and Mixer parameters, Input and Output Block parameters can also now be edited with your feet, including the new Variax String Level, Powercab Plus remote, and DT25/DT50 remote parameters. Press and hold MODE to enter Pedal Edit Mode. The switches flash. If necessary, press MORE one or more times to view additional blocks and press the Input 1A (or 1B, 2A, or 2B) or Output 1A (or 1B, 2A, or 2B) footswitch. If the block has more than one page of parameters, press FS8 (FS9 (PAGE>) until you find the parameter. Press the footswitch displaying the parameter you want to adjust and use an expression pedal to adjust the parameter. For fine adjustment, press FS10 (VALUE) and FS11 (VALUE+). Hold FS10 (VALUE) or FS11 (VALUE +) for faster adjustments. When finished, press FS12 (EXIT). If you want to save any changes made to the preset, hold FS12 (EXIT) for two seconds.

Pocket Pod Confusion
silverhead replied to mwells148's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Not sure if this will help or not but worth a look.... https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwiC8p22uuLlAhWhneAKHdsEAMgQwqsBMAF6BAgJEAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DoCnCchbqXNQ&usg=AOvVaw0C5e3z7JGT6F9whyi_xGxL -
Try adjusting the Mic In gain in Global Settings -> Ins/Outs. Increase a few db at a time until you get a good signal strength.

Open a support ticket.

Consider it closed. No need to return here.

Don't joke around with my maple syrup and back bacon!! I'll have to beat you up with my moose antlers, beaver tails and Mountie hats. But of course I wouldn't actually attempt that - you might be packing a few AR-15s .... because one is never enough. ... just kidding of course, in case I might offend someone's political sensitivities......;-)

As you get familiar with your new gear for recording I suggest you compare the capabilities of using the Helix vs. the Scarlett as your audio interface. Helix supports 8 channels over USB allowing you, for instance, to simultaneously record a stereo processed guitar track, a stereo processed vocal track, as well as the dry mono guitar and vocal tracks for potential post-processing with a DAW-based VST like Helix Native. (The DAW is your recording program, whatever you choose that to be.) I doubt that the Scarlett can do that; it can likely only simultaneously record the Helix-processed mono guitar and vocal.
-
The Helix is itself a very capable audio interface. You don't need the Scarlett.
-
Not sure how you came to that conclusion but as others have pointed out it is simply incorrect. Helix powers a Variax guitar through the VDI connection. This one connection also carries the audio so it is the only cable you need. You can choose to power the Variax seperately using either its battery or an external power supply but in either case you lose the command and control features that the VDI connection supports - things like saving Variax model selection, alt tunings, and vol/tone knob settings in any Helix preset.
-
Make sure that the FX Bypass controller is set to Snapshots. Then turn it on/off as desired in each Snapshot, saving the preset before moving to the next Snapshot.

Helix LT (as a sound card) + Reaper - am I setting this up incorrectly?
silverhead replied to krisDOTco's topic in Helix
Make sure the Record Monitoring feature in Reaper is turned off. -
Main Outs: two EQUAL mono signals (summed from stereo) possible?
silverhead replied to Elephantstomp's topic in Helix
Try placing a mono FX block (e.g. a simple EQ) at the end of the signal chain. This will sum the signal to mono before sending it to the main outs. Use neutral settings on the EQ so that the tone is not affected and make sure the panning is at C in the Output block. This should deliver two equal mono signals to the L and R outputs. -
Check your headphones.

I wouldn't say they gave up. Technology moves quickly and virtually every technical product, from any manufacturer, reaches a point when further updates simply don't make sense. Firehawk is still being manufactured and is still supported but its feature set is in all likelihood now fixed.
-
I think there won't be any further updates to the AMPLIFi/Firehawk products.
-
It's possible that dirt/dust has collected underneath the knobs. This can cause interruptions in the signal flow within the underlying electronics. There are a couple of solutions: -'rotate the knobs quickly and aggressively in both directions from min to max positions. This can dislodge the grit. - purchase some pot (potentiometer) cleaner at your local electronics store and apply it per directions. Do not use a standard household lubricant such as WD-40. If the problem persists then it is more serious.

You can do it easily using snapshots. Not sure you can do it without. But you could do it using Workbench HD and a few models in one of the Custom banks. You would switch using the JTV model knob and/or pickup selector switch rather than a Helix footswitch.

You could find the YouTube video again and chase down the rep who said that.
-
I think an online seller of used stuff like eBay may be your best bet. They come up periodically.
-
The X3 Live is not a compatible Workbench HD interface. Your Variax Standard included a Workbench hardware interface (USB connections) when it shipped from the Line 6 factory. If you are the original owner you should contact the retailer and demand it. If you are not the original owner you could try contacting the seller but you are likely out of luck.

It's in the HX Edit manual, not the Helix manual. See pg 49 Inspector Window Shortcuts.

You're not the only one who gets the heebie jeebies; not by a long shot. There is a very brief mention of firmware updates on page 51 of the manual - the intro paragraph of the Global Settings section. I know the update instructions are intimidating. But that's because they are very detailed and written for the trepidatious.Just read them carefully and follow them exactly. Be brave!! And don't hesitate to come back here with any questions or difficulties. You can't harm the device irreperably - it is always recoverable. You will be able to get the job done!
-
You should update your firmware to the latest version 2.82. Here are the update instrucionts. Follow them carefully!! Note that you should follow the second set of instructions: Updating to 2.82 from 2.71 or Earlier (READ ME!)

This has been mentioned many times before, but to repeat..... You can create any number of 'template' presets that contain your customized default versions of FX blocks. Then you copy/paste them when creating new presets. The presets containing your default block settings would never be used as actual presets; they're just a repository for your default settings. The Templats setlist is a natural place for them to live.
