  1. You have options. Choose the one (or more at different times) that best serves your needs. It partly depends on whether or not you are using a regular guitar amp as your output for the Stomp, or a mixer/PA/studio monitors. 1. Place your pedals in front of the Stomp: guitar -> pedal(s) -> Stomp Guitar input. All pedals come before the amp in the signal chain. 2. Place your pedals in the Stomp FX Loop (Send/Returns): guitar -> Stomp Guitar input -> Stomp Send -> pedal(s) -> Stomp Return(s). All pedals are either before or after the amp depending on FX Loop placement. 3. If using a guitar amp with its own FX Loop consider the 4CM method, which allows more flexibility and permits you to have some pedals in front of the amp and some after it. Look this up if you need cabling details. Note that the Stomp can be your audio interface for recording.
  2. Yes, just download and install v3.60. Make sure you backup any critical presets first.
  3. Typically a recording program scans specific file folders for VST plugins. Make sure you include the folder where POD Farm was installed in this list, or move the POD Farm plugin to a folder that is already being scanned.
  4. The manual (pg 7) describes how to save a User preset, which includes specifying a destination within the User group of presets. This procedure overwrites an existing preset and replaces it with the preset being saved. I don’t know whether you can save a Style or Band mode preset to a User destination. It’s worth trying. If not you can try using the Pocket POD editor called Vyzex. Again, I don’t know if this will support what you want to do. Vyzex is very old technology now and you may have difficulty using it on modern computers but again, worth a try.
  5. How are you monitoring the sound? In other words, are you sure you are hearing ONLY the sound from the Amp Out jack?
  6. Check the level of the master volume knob on your LT; make sure it’s near maximum. If you increased it turn down the levels of any outboard equipment (e.g. your speakers or headphones). Check the Input and Output blocks. Make sure the Input is set to Guitar or Multi. The Output should be set to include the 1/4” outputs and the Level should be 0db. Also test the 2nd cable in your setup.

    IR's? Help

It’s not POD Go nor Line 6 specific. Google is your friend. Try “what is an IR?”
  8. Welcome to the world of Helix! There’s a learning curve for sure, whether bass or regular guitar, but a bit of perseverance will yield great results. I suggest you start by clicking the Support tab at the top of this page and check out the Helix Tutorial Videos section. Also check out the General Tutorial Videos, especially the Jason Sadites series. They’re not specific to bass guitars, and I’m not a bass player, but I expect that once you’ve learned the basics of using the device and creating presets all you’ll need to do is select the bass guitar amps and cabs when building your presets. Then exploring the different tones and FX geared to bass guitars. You’ll find the bass amps in their own section of the Helix amp options. Have fun and don’t hesitate to come here and ask when you get confused (which is likely for everyone getting started, not just you).
  9. I have moved this post from the Helix to the Line 6 Lounge subforum due to its commercial and self-promotion content. While it is a useful firmware update guide for Helix noobs it also contains advertising and self-promotion content. This is more appropriate in the Lounge than the Helix subforum. @dougb415please post future content in the Lounge area if it contains similar commercial and self-promotion content. Thanks.
  10. The answer is also simple. The discount applies to the device, not the owner. If you bought it new you are eligible for the discount. If you bought it used you may or may not be eligible depending on whether or not the previous owner already used it. Contact Line 6 Support to clarify.
  11. Sorry, didn’t notice that you have the HX FX, not a full Helix. The dual path suggestion I made is not possible on the HX FX. I don’t think snapshots will allow you to do it. Snapshots don’t allow you to reposition blocks in the signal chain. Unless you have a free block to add a second instance of the block you want to move I don’t know that there’s a solution for you. You could experiment with using two different presets with the only difference being the position and on/off state of the block you want to move. However there may be an audio gap as the presets switch.
  12. Check to make sure you are using version 3.50 or later. That was the introduction of a new cab engine and cab models, resulting in (imho) a big sonic improvement. Personally I don’t find the sound muffled at all. Then again I haven’t done the comparison that you mentioned. Also your monitors or headphones play a huge role in the sound you hear. If you have access to different ones do a comparison of those as well as the plug-in.
  13. Re: screen size and switch spacing. It is what it is. If either one is a show stopper you bought the wrong device and need a different one. Re: pedal performance, Have you been able to get it working again? If so, take some time now to figure out how to fix it on the fly.
  14. Yes, hopefully. Although it sounds to me like it’s baked into the firmware, and it doesn’t match the documentation. My guess is the replacement will behave the same. Hope I’m wrong! If it does behave the same I suggest you open a support ticket pointing out that either the firmware isn’t behaving as it should or the document is wrong. I know what the easier fix is!
  15. I had a similar issue years ago with my POD X3 Live. There’s a similar switch on the back of the unit that surprisingly acts as a Mute switch when in the middle position, neither Amp nor Line. I spent hours trouble shooting before checking that switch and remembering I had vacuumed the device surface the previous day…..
  16. Have you tried the procedures in the link two posts above yours?
  17. If you want to try to recover this unit, I suggest you back things up and do a factory reset. Make sure it’s running the latest firmware and update if necessary. If still not working open a support ticket.
  18. Have you experimented with changing the default settings? What version of Helix Native are you using?
  19. If you have sufficient DSP available you can put the same FX bock with identical (or not) settings in both paths and use a footswitch to toggle them on/off. Each press of the footswitch will turn one off and the other on simultaneously. I think that achieves the result you want. If there’s insufficient DSP in a parallel path you can probably create a dual path setup to achieve the same result.
  20. I would open a support ticket. I had a similar issue once in the Windows world. Iirc the solution was to delete one specific installation file and allow Native to regenerate a new one on the next use. I can’t give you details for Mac.
  21. The manual describes the Settings View for the HX One. Page 8 of the Settings View allows you to specify the MIDI channel,1-16 or Omni (manual page 29). It says this: Select the MIDI Channel on which HX One receives MIDI messages. Note that MIDI OUT/THRU is always sent on Channel 1. This note on pg30 may also be relevant: HX One does not transmit MIDI for any of its own actions, but will pass incoming MIDI control and MIDI Clock out via its MIDI OUT/THRU and USB MIDI ports.
