It tough to say dude. Its been a few months since I fired the X3 up but are you saving the presets as Dual Tones? You can try saving via the unit itself too once the tones are loaded. If you think its a bad flash you can always reflash it. -B

TBone has it right. The rabbit hole can get quite deep, which is good when you want it but a MF when you are starting out. I like to look at the HD like a virtual setup. Start with an amp in the chain (like you would in real life) and slowly build up from there. When you built a pedal board you didn't just toss random pedals velcro'd all over. BBQ elephant ribs! -B

Broken capacitors in TonePort?
BillBee replied to marcin79w's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
IMHO the caps look ok. The bad caps I have seen normally have a domed top or bulge. Just my opinion though, that stuff looks like epoxy or glue.- 10 replies

Pod 2.0 controllable via Midi?
BillBee replied to ozweepay's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Yep! I used a Midimate (old red button one) for a bit and an ART X-15 and X-11. :) -
UX1 from Ebay - What software to download
BillBee replied to stpwaddell's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
What version of the UX1 is it? Black faced or red faced? -
It depends - based upon my experience with the XT model packs, if purchased "on sale" they cannot be gifted, if purchased at the normal price I think they can (how the gifting works I don't know as I have never did that). Though you could probably turn over your account to the buyer if all else fails. -B

You should get the FBV MK I or II. The II if you want the looper (which really isn't that much time). The MK I has a slightly larger display. BTW. The FBV Express (4 button one) is OK at best and is the minimum one for using the wah.

Help reinstalling Line 6 Monkey
BillBee replied to jckinnick's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Off the top of my head on Win XP there is a folder somewhere with the drivers in it. One other way would be to uninstall the L6 stuff and reinstall. Just make sure you don't use a usb hub when connecting the XTL. -

Pod Xt Live Problem...
BillBee replied to brenocunha's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Toughie to say then my man. IMO if the firmware is cool and everything else is too (amp, cables and guitar) then most likely it is a hardware issue. Last resorts would be contact cleaner on the jacks (DeOxit for ex). Maybe try a recalibration on the expression pedal and see if that is fluctuating in value. If all else fails you can shoot a support ticket in to L6. Sorry Dude, -B -
My Man, The HD is kickass even with a single amp model and it is exceptionally gig worthy just setup a patch per footswitch. You will learn in time - its not like the old days when Pop tossed us in the water to swim. We are here for ya brother! :) The vid is only one example of how far down the rabbit hole you can get.

Way to go Brazzy! Dig out the 7-String and go for some chugga chugga! \m/

Whose fist is this anyway? :) I have a soft spot for Prove you wrong too. Suicidal Tendencies' Lights, Camera, Revolution was next in that rotation.

Take some of the patches you can find at the Meambobo Toneguide page and disassemble them see what does what and baby step it. Best of all have patience. Check this vid out. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=39rvm-peVMg Loved how the guy set it up and the use of the EQs. BTW loved Prong and still have some old cassettes of them \m/ -B

I believe you have to set it up in Gearbox so take a look there have the wah engaged and then save the patch to the X3L.
-
The first step is to get the UX2 installed and see if the L6 Monkey sees it (for the drivers etc). Then get the UX2 happy with License Manager after that, with the UX2 connected and PF2 fired up it should see it. Do not use a usb hub as they generally won't work. The UX2 is tied to the PF. -B

You should be able to manually point windows to the folder where the driver is in the windows directory. -
Pod Xt Live Problem...
BillBee replied to brenocunha's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
With the unit off rotate all the knobs clockwise and then counter clockwise a bunch of times. This can help clear up the pot jitter. -
The L6 guys while they do pop in may not see this so be sure to go here and put the idea up: http://line6.ideascale.com/ -B

Cool Dude, you do have to play with it. With the amount of options the HD has it can get interesting (or frustrating). Once you get a baseline patch setup save it as a template so if you go too far and cannot make it back you can just reload the template. :) Just jumped back a bit into jazz and 36 positions for a C chord so far. Good stuff.

The PE60 is just a power amp and speaker in a combo. There is no preamp - it has other features xlr out etc. But that's just what I use. You know one thing I forgot was to set the output level of your HD low when going into the Blues Junior. You are going to have to sit down and turn some knobs.
-
To be honest, for me, I like to run it into a Tech 21 Power Engine 60. Its basically a power amp and 1 12" speaker in a combo. Some people go straight to the PA, some powered monitors. There is not a hard and fast rule. The FX loop thing is for people that have an amp already as it gives a few options. 4 cable method (if the amp's preamp is sweet and the dude wants to use it) or right in the FX loop to bypass the amp's not too desirable preamp. Once in a while I'll drag a head/4x12 out and just go into the loop too for example. I have a 2x12 old Marshall Master Lead combo and I have gone straight in and it sound awesome (gt12 speakers in that). When I got the HD I didn't use it with the band for a number of months until I had useable tones dialed in with the gear I use. The Blues Junior still a great amp. -B

Tough to say to be honest, a lot depends on how well you know the HD. But there is no reason not to try it on the other amp.
