  1. Always cool to see Wim playing but I really think they need to redo the tone for the demo too. Unless that was what they were going for. Neat idea though. Thanks Dude! B
  2. Love Canada (Don Cherry and Peter Puck) - My pop was from a lil place outside of Hamilton. Pretty much grew up there working on my uncle's farm - I still sweat OV! BTW: you forgot the "Eh?" -B
  3. There is probably a better answer than this but........... I use the mixer in HDEdit and "earball" the levels per patch. When I run a practice I will record it and take note during playback. I find that percieved volume can vary depending how I have the EQ setup and affect how I lay in the mix with the rest of the band. That's it on my end as the patch levels through the cab are then set. I am at the mercy of the soundguy for the PA volume after he mics the cab and let hime do his thing for PA mixing (volume). Some people use a db meter to check and set patch levels.
  4. Dude - IMO he's just poking some fun at southern stereotypes (and if he's actually from Georgia) at himself as well. So no harm intended. Now if I did that about my relatives - wooo they get upset - being from Canada and all. :D Grabbing the AR and some deer jerky (not the fornicating kind mind you) sounds like a good day at the range. :) -B
  5. The Big Bottom amp is my fave right now (from the Metal Pack). Though lately the Roland JC is coming along nicely but I need to "woo" it a bit more to round the tone for cleans.
  6. If you purchased the model packs in the past (for an XT or Pod Farm) you are good to go. L6 License Manager to authorize the XT. If you never bought them, you will have to. The XT Pro has a few included already - you should see them at boot time. Power Pack, FX junkie IIRC. The X3 has the packs built in - so a direct model pack transfer is not going to ever happen AFAIK. -B
  7. I usually set it to "mic" myself as I swap patches between the Desktop and the 500 and adjust gain within the patch. As Dutch sez though there are lots of options. Don't ignore the Z settings either.
  8. If you are running the pro in Live mode there is a cab/speaker selection option that can be set by holding the save button on power up. Its been too long to remember but if both were set to "amp/live" it probably would affect the sound of the Pro (see Chapter 4 Pod Pro Manual). Not sure the Bean had that option but that wouldn't matter for studio direct. Just thinking. :) -B
  9. Sorry if I caused any undo dis-assembly. I have all three: V1 chipped to 2, 2.3 FBV and the Pro (I know I know) and the only one that sounded noticeably different was the V1 Pod Bean. After the Eprom swap (10+ years ago or more) it still sounds like the V2 (fbv) version. -B
  10. Try flipping the in/out cables. On a MAudio cable sometimes that does the trick.
  11. Hope it works my man maybe try it on a different pc! Steam - ugh.... I ran into that when I used to play Half-Life.
  12. The HD Loaded bundle went into the cart and I went to the check out screen. Keep in mind I am in the US don't know if that matters. -B
  13. Dude, Try here: http://store.line6.com/termsofsale/#contactus L6 should be able to help you. -B
  14. Yep that's what I thought. You are just running it in the FX loop of the amp. Biggest problem is to keep the input level into the XT from clipping - XT Lives have a pad switch and IIRC the XTs can be set via Gearbox. Could be the cause, clipping excessively hits those units pretty hard.
  15. The XT Bean has no FX loop how are you attempting the 4CM? Could be the problem. :) -B
  16. FWIW - The Version 1 of the Pods do sound a bit different than the 2.0s. There were some people who prefer the V1 eprom. Assuming the Pro's chip is V1 than that would propably be why the sound is different. Its been many, many years since I popped the chips in and out, so this is off my memory. -B
  17. Hey, Assuming you are talking about the XT Pro, do you mean the sound increases and decreases on its own? Not when turning the loop on/off? Just off hand, check the 4cm routing, is the clipping light on? guitar cables and possibly the amps fx loop jacks might need cleaning. Just guessing, B
  18. You may have to do a uninstall and reinstall everything if the old system driver is hiding on the system. I'm not running Win7 but you night want to make sure you are in the admin account too. Try downloading the driver directly and installing that way. When updating the Flash the nav key stuff is for safe mode reflashing (depending on the key held) but I wouldn't bother with that at this stage. I do like to actually download the files and choose the Monkey option of Flash from File, less retries if I get a time out. -B
  19. Welcome to the board Nic. What you say is true - it does take some effort and understanding to get things to really sing and scream. As the modelers get more involved and realistic so does the learning curve. Time warp back in time with me and the fun it took to chain up a multi-unit rack and control it with midi and midi through. They could be a beast to setup (learning curve) but once they were done they were sweet. It why we love the forums - lots of gold in them thar threads! \m/ B \m/
  20. Ooosh sorry to hear that my man. I know they will post Support Ticket answers on the ticket itself so I would check again if its been a few days. Normally, L6 is pretty quick to fix things like this. If still no answer give them a ring or resubmit. -B
  21. I think you are correct Titchy. They are both individually mono (L/R) as seen through panning in the mixer. Though stereo fx can probably change that scenario I haven't screwed around with stereo enough to be honest. :)
  22. I think Martin is right to an extent. I took a listen to some vids and read a bit. I sounds like they changed from the old way of using a matching tone for the FB. http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/nov12/articles/boss-fb2.htm It almost sounds like the FB part is a sustainer cranked with a real slow decay. -B
  23. I have one of the old orange Boss Dist/Feedback pedals and all it does is produce an overtone. It doesn't "drive" the guitar and amp into feedback. If the new version is similar there shouldn't be any issues as long as it receives a signal.
  24. My old GNX4 had this feature referred to as "warping" mixing amps/cabs and the technique can make some pretty cool tones. Try using a Q-Filter at a different setting for each, different mix levels, etc. Easy way to spend a bunch of time trying it out. I like Cruisin's exp pedal tip too. So +1 Dude! -B
