Its all good Bro! I sucked down a copy for that "just in case" moment. ;)
-
I've used an exciter between the FPP and amp with no probs. Tried to run a DS-1 in front but it sounded like poop. But other than that, like you found out, it has pretty much all the basic goodness needed.
-
The first thing to try would be a different power supply meeting the specs of the XTL.
-
Hey Snuggs, There is no aux pedal input on the FPP. Its been a few years since I've used it but you might be able to put a vol pedal between the FPP and the amp then see if you can assign the built in exp pedal to something other than volume. There is no line in/line out either so the OC-3 would have to be tried at the front or end of the chain. Welcome to the board btw. The FPP does give some solid tones and I'm going to have to dig that puppy out now. :) -B

2 questions. How do I use my Pod HD500X with my guitar cab?
BillBee replied to EncoreBlade's topic in POD HD
You don't need to buy a monster power amp either. I've used a Kustom Defender (5w tube) and it sounded great through a 1x12 closed back cab. Suprising how loud it was but that was for jamming around the house. -

Sony always did build the good stuff. If its drivers and stuff like that do a search for Driver Pack Assistant. Should be a free proggie IIRC - I use that all the time to spare myself anguish for re-installs of hardware. There may be snow on the roof but theres fire in the furnace!!! Well there is a lot less on my roof too these years - bwahaha. -

tone port will not load on windows 7 64 bit help!
BillBee replied to purpleboost's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
Yeah get mad at L6 because you upgraded your system. :) I may be wrong but a 64 bit system usually can run 32 bit proggies. Till someone more in the know pops by do a quick Google search on it. Might be something simple (I hope). -B -
Just caught this and was greatly amused. Hey... at least its not about OSX. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EvPvQjDU7_c

On my old GNX2 the little micro switches were suspect as I would get some random action too. I hosed them with contact cleaner and the issue cleared up. I can't say it's the same cause but just an fyi.

Great to hear that. Everytime an OS update comes out angry masses pile in here screaming bloody murder for a fix, but few come back for a simple "Thanks L6". Kudos to you Dude! Bill

Yep, the GX is the dongle which gives it the "ok its cool" code. -
can put Digitech Jamman Stero from preamp out to power amp in?
BillBee replied to xeluaxeman's topic in Spider Valve
It should be fine, that's what the FX loop is for. Just be careful on how high the input to the Jamman is or you will get a lot of clipping. -
That is Plan B my man! Going to call an audible depending on the tax return. ;)

Well put Phil. I agree that a $1500 price point will be a sticking point for the casual user. My wife almost went nuts at the price for the HD. In the end it will be market, margins and price point. Long Live the Bean!! \m/ B!ll \m/

Actually you do have to give props to the OP for sobering up prior to MF shipping the unit. :) Buyer's remorse sucks. -B

POD X3 LIVE No sound other than Aux in via Phones Out
BillBee replied to crypticify's topic in POD X3
Hey Fellas, My spare X3L has the same issues but I correct me if I am wrong here "that after setting the unit to tone 1 and the inputs to guitar + aux" if the tuner does not detect an input signal its "service time". Jack failure or mainboard. If the tuner never sees the signal the output settings won't matter much. If any one can ballpark a rough estimate for worst case scenario (mainboard) shoot it over. -Bill -
That Boston tone is a beast to chase. If I remember right an article I read was pointing at pre-distortion EQ (Q?). I use a cocked wah sometimes as a filter to give a warm fuzzy simulation. Thanks for the patch Duncann I'll be sure to give it a try this weekend. I always thought the Sustainer + the EQ was an awesome combo way back when.
