Pod 2.0 question.
BillBee replied to TheRazorsEdge's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
If it has a "Fx Loop" the "Line In" will be the way to go ( I can't tell from the pic if it has one for sure). You can go in the front but you want to set the amp up as neutral as it goes. Flat EQ, little to no gain, no verb etc... This lets the Pod handle the tones. Welcome to the board! Bill -
You may also DL the flash memory to your PC then use the update from file option in Monkey.

how to connect a line 6 pod 2 to my pc
BillBee replied to llama_shockz's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
What you are linking to are tones from L6 Customtone (not plugins) which you can use with your Pod (not Pod Farm). You will need a copy of L6 Edit, connect your Pod via midi/usb cable and this will allow you to do the tone transfers. -B -
Good one Brazzster - being on the end of the stick that hands out violation notices/fines/etc. I still have to be polite but it gets tough trying to explain to an angry person that "if" they hadn't done "that" I wouldn't hand them "this". Just keep a smile and let it roll of the back - sometimes people just need to vent and usually its whomever is in front of them. \m/ B \m/

Well my man this is a user forum so the "big boys" might not see this. If it is still registered to the old owner you will have to shoot in a support ticket to L6. http://line6.com/support/tickets/ -B

I actually have the same amp still and when I have used it I went direct into the FX return. The 4CM sounds great depending on how you set it up (fx loop placement, level adjustment, blah blah blah a google search will net you more info then you care for) but it negates using the mighty fine modeling of the HD. -B

Sweet! Thanks for the tips. Its always "fun" the first gig with a new setup. :)

Its all in the Gearbox manual. I don't have Win8 so hopefully it will work for you with no issues. -B

Well Glenn is right IMO in respect to overdriven and high gain lead playing "if" you want to have more picking dynamics. Dig in harder with your pick attack and a comp can choke back the volume increase you would expect or boost the light picking used on softer spots. It really is a matter of preference. For good ole chugga chugga ryhthms a comp is great as it keeps things even. Good topic to work on. \m/ Bill \m/

Really good thread on the EQs and the other one for amp setup. As time goes on the importance of proper EQ keeps increasing. Thanks guys! Bill

Invalid Code Error 01....again!

Well this is a user forum and the L6 dudes might not actually see this so its best to put in a support ticket. http://line6.com/support/tickets/ -
Invalid Code Error 01....again!
BillBee replied to Krenzathal's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
I am wary of flashing hardware in general - beginning in the 2000's with a Johnson J-Station - L6 stuff has reflashed reasonably well though it has taken safe mode to do it sometimes. So it has nothing to do with L6 software for a 10+ year old product. Which BTW I love the XT series still. You can also try downloading the flash files and trying to reflash incrementaly using the from file option. Hopefully you can get something working. -B -
Invalid Code Error 01....again!
BillBee replied to Krenzathal's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Forgot to add the "Safe Mode" reflash - usually works: Q: How do I reflash in "safe mode"? A: Safe mode can be used when a unit cannot be reflashed using the normal reflash procedure. Hold the first of the four black soft buttons under the main LCD screen as you power on the PODxt. Then, follow the instructions above on how to re-install the flash memory. http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/pod/pod-20-podxt-family-pocket-pod-floorpods/pod-xt-series-factory-reset-reflash-and-firm-r491 -
Invalid Code Error 01....again!
BillBee replied to Krenzathal's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
I don't think its L6s fault for you rolling back to pre-usb firmware and then trying to roll forward but that's my opinion - I cringe when having to reflash things. Hopefully it will not be a total brick. PODxt Family Error Codes If you are experiencing the following error codes in the display of your PODxt device: Invalid Error Code 01 Invalid Error Code 02 Invalid Error Code 03 Invalid Error Code 04 Invalid Error Code 05 Invalid Error Code 06 please try the following: Try the Edit Buffer Initialization with the following steps: 1. Turn off the POD 2. Turn on the POD while holding down the Save and Edit buttons simultaneously 3. The POD's LCD screen should display Init Edit Buffer 4. Push the Output mode button 5. Turn the Select / Select Page knob one click to the right 6. Turn the Effect Tweak / Change Value knob to the left or right adjusting the contrast. If that does not help, please try re-installing the flash memory on the PODxt device using the instructions in the following link: Pod xt Series: Factory Reset, Reflash, and Firmware Updates -
POD XT Pro Flash Memory 1.05
BillBee replied to Krenzathal's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Hey my man, By chance this wouldn't be the early firmware where you had to use a midi/usb cable to flash it would it? Just guessing on what your error code may be. The "early" XTs had to be updated this way in order to gain use of the USB (if my old mind remembers right). -B- 4 replies

Fundamental question on the use of presets, amps and effects
BillBee replied to MaestrosounD's topic in Line 6 Lounge
I've been building some "base tones" (preset amps and EQs) and just load them when needed so I can change the FX as needed. If you just started using edit then you have been missing being able to do that. -B -
Bah - Had to make him evil again! \m/

Thanks for the heads up! Always good to get 'em working again! -Bill
