I think NucleusX is right. The HD is awesome but alot of time is sucked into the plethora of options and that rabbit hole can get quite deep. I took a page from one of our other guys here (Smrybacki) and went back to basics with just amp models so I could get back to playing. As your skill improves (no need to be a pro mind you) all the effects and options become more usable rather than novelty. IMO of course. Sometimes I can't hear the tone through the gear myself :) Good luck in all you do my man! B

Well I am thinking that a PF HD is in the works, only speculating though. If you post on Ideascale be sure to report back here with a link if you can. -B

2nd class? no.... more impatient? yep ;) I am just glad they "will" be here! So cheers to Line 6 *woot*!!! -B

This is really good advice if you need to load up on some extra fx. The MS70 can cycle through its own presets and is really compact for squeezing in on a board. -B

There is an editor for the FCB too which helps. A google search should be able to score it. Here too if you are unaware of the Uno chip for it: http://host.mtnsys.com:81/faq-fcb/UnO%20Firmware.htm -B

Hee hee it is really priced well and not too expensive once you get the G.A.S. going. Ask my wife..... on second thought its best she not know  That said - just wait until you run across a guy who with a $20 stomp and cheap amp makes you want to throw the guitar out the window. Humbling. -B

http://line6.com/support/topic/12865-fw-26-and-license-manager-problem-with-pod-hd-bean/ Check it out Dude, AFAIK its going to be a little wait for the non X series update. -B

You shouldn't have to save everytime you use a footswitch. I believe the edit light only shows that something has changed "chorus on to off" etc while having a patch already selected. If its just changing patches with no other adjustments (vol, fx, etc..) I don't remember the edit light coming on. Hope that makes sense, sorry if I didn't explain it very well :) Bill

Eh... the DSP % increase would be nice and I've hit the wall a few times in my HD (500 & bean) but judged selling and upgrading to the X not cost effective ATM. I would only recommend a non-X new if it was an insane deal. Its not only the DSP increase its the footswitch upgrade which would tilt my favoring of the X. That said still love my HDs :) -B

Cool, I want to say that this is normal as a parameter has been changed. For example say you turned the flanger "on" the unit should show that it was changed hence the "E". This lets you know the change hasn't been saved in case it was something you wanted to keep. The XT is similar but pops a * in the display. Sounds like its all good my man! Bill

No you need Gearbox my man - try it.
-
Yep - it can be a maze sometimes and I have resorted to doing a google search where it will just pop the L6 page I was looking for. A side menu with branching would be nice but I am used to it by now. Where is my cheese? :) -B

Nothing we don't know already HD = goodness. I still like the XTs tones myself and really beauty is in the ear of the beholder. OP: Thanks for the link! Bill

Monkey has nothing to do with changing tones/sound on the X3. You need to download a copy of Gearbox. -B

http://line6.com/legacy/floorboard/ Is this the floorboard you are using? Its been a while since I used the Pro so I may be misunderstanding what you mean by "Edit Mode". Does the unot behave normally but just indicates that a parameter was changed for the patch? Like turning an effect on or off or volume change? -B

How to use POD XT just as soundcard??
BillBee replied to tuato's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Amp bypassed on PODxt Q: How do I bypass the Amp Models? A: In preset mode turn the amp model knob counter clock wise to Bypass with all the effects buttons off, this will put the Podxt/Bass PODxt in bypass, then "save". You are really making a bypass channel or bypass preset. Q: If I set the PODxt to bypass the amp sounds, is the preamp of the PODxt bypassd, will I get the pure tone of my amp? A:Yes, you can also save your setup as a preset (no amp model, just effects). http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/pod/pod-20-podxt-family-pocket-pod-floorpods/podxt-series-application-faqs-r487 -
IIRC - as thankfully I haven't had to reflash things yet - download the flash update to your desktop, fire up Monkey and there "should" be an update from file option. Select that (and you might have to point it at the flash file). I like the "from file" way myself. -B

IIRC try using the save button on the HD itself. -B

Pod xt live help!!!!!
BillBee replied to razakelkrieg's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Hey There and welcome to the board. Go here for the software: http://line6.com/software/ You will probably want to get the License Manager and the latest version of Monkey while you are there. Be sure to nab the ones that match your OS. -B -
I can't wait to try the global EQ with the new pootware - it should help with my fizz issues

I have pod 2.0 & Pod HD - is there 1 pedal i can use for both ?
BillBee replied to guitardrummer2's topic in POD HD
Hey Joel the old days were crazy. I 1st got a Pod V1 and chipped it to V2 so controllers were no problem even the same for the Pro - then the 2.0 came out and eeeesh! Which one? :) Lucky its mostly a legacy issue with the older Pods now.
