Well that would only be a % of us - har har!!! Like the above guys said - it can really shine when on clean stuff that "should" have it. I've used it on intros - the ole plug it in noise and hum prior to kicking things off on a bluesy jaunt. -Bill

Hey there, While I don't have an Amplifi I would think you are better off running the X3 into a power amp or the line in of a combo. If you are determined to use the Amplifi with the X3, set everything on the A-fi to as clean as possible and don't set the X3's output too high. -B

Oh OK - I was hoping it was the toe switch.

Hey Joel, Have you ever opened that puppy up to see if it was either the plunger mech or the switch? If the assembly is like the X3L it should be on a separate daughter board. Might be a connection - like a ribbon cable - needs to be snugged up. -B

I would say wait until the HD firmware comes out in a few months. I still use the XT on occasion and love the Big Bottom amp model. The next firmware will have a global eq (which will help greatly) and allow for the purchase of amp model packs which will have some of our fave XT/X3 models. As far as the HD being buzzy we all have different ears (and patience) I would say its an EQ issue. There are alot of threads here (well in the HD section) which can help. But then again with a Mesa Rig you really don't need much anyway :) -B

Hey There and welcome to the forums (sorry it had to be because of the DL4). If it is out of warrenty you might want to open it up and see how the switching is done. I have one but (knock on wood) have not opened it up. If you see the usual tactile switches (small little square with a little black push button) you might be able to revive it with a shot of De-Oxit contact cleaner. I have done this with some unresponsive switches before with success. This assumes that there isn't a bigger problem which might mean a trip to the shop. Might be worth a try. -Bill

Well Clay it most likely came because of: http://line6.com/support/topic/10055-hd500x-no-new-featuresno-updates/ The natives got restless and L6 made a spectacular suite of add-ons for the same $ as they always did. I agree "why the fuss". -B

Pod Xt And Pod Hd 500x Together?
BillBee replied to heliobluesrock's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Silence = "no-one has tried it" most likely my man. Give it a shot and see how it goes and report back. -B -
FWIW my man as long as its just the pot (or encoder) it shouldn't cost an arm and a leg to repair and if you are apt to do some soldering you "might" be able to do it yourself. My bean did have some tight pots too but did loosen up as time past. Best would be to do what Brazzster suggested. -B

To replace toneport GX and purchased adds to another computer
BillBee replied to STGOL's topic in GearBox (Legacy)
Hey Sergy there should be no problems at all - just run the license manager on your new 'puter. All your authorizations are saved under your L6 account. -B -
pod xt live patch downloads

Hey Bill, I replied to your other post so check that out. Welcome to the forums too! -Bill -
Hey There, The Floor Pod Plus will require the Vyzex Editor and IIRC Monkey is not useful for anything. The M-Audio Uno usb/midi convertor is the usual one that will work. The typical $2 -bay special usually won't. http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/pod/pod-20-podxt-family-pocket-pod-floorpods/floor-pod-floor-pod-plus-faq-r494 Once you get everything gathered and setup be sure to read the help file that comes with the editor. Any other probs be sure to come back. -Bill

Looking 4 the Best Practice Amp (portable) for my FX100.
BillBee replied to kevinm213's topic in AMPLIFi TT/FX100
Hey There, While I don't have an FX100 - I've been running an HD500 (and Zoom G5) through a Tech 21 Power Engine 60. Its been pretty sweet and gets LOUD plus you can run its XLR out to a board if you need too. 33 lbs too **woot**. Used YMMV but $2-300 should score one. -B -
Airy white noise on fade outs and palm muting
BillBee replied to JEISEN's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
Its been a few since I fired up PF but there is a PAD setting in there somewhere. I usually do what you do and have the gate 1st and just have it barely kick in. Hmmm are you running a comp/sustainer? Check how fast the decay is. There are a few real good PF dudes here who will probably swing by when they get a chance. Though, if its not there on playback..... :) and check your batteries! -B -
But it would have to be a 1 month old car which you had purchased $10K+ of accessories for but because the spare tire didn't fit you had to junk it all and just sit at home. That is the lunacy my friend! Bill

With the upcoming model packs for the HDs you "may" be able to recreate it though. -B

Airy white noise on fade outs and palm muting
BillBee replied to JEISEN's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
Could be the noise gate just barely triggering. Tough to say. -
Fair Dinkum! In the way back machine - L6 would have some specials on the packs too ($49 or $79 for three). So I would not be suprised to see those flashed. I'm not worried L6 always takes care of its peeps. -B

Well sometimes the software that comes on the disc is outdated. Go here: http://line6.com/software/ and get all the latest versions. You will want to get the License Manager too as you will want to get registered and authorized for PodFarm. If none of that works you will probably get better help listing your system specs as we can only guess what you are using and how its connected. -B

I've ran the ole XT into a variety of power amps with no problems. For an old Rocktron Velocity it was left to left and right to right, no issues there. I've also just ran the left out into the FX return on heads and combos with no problem. For PAs I've just ran the left out into the mixer and left the EQ flat. Hope this helps or I misunderstood the question :) -B

Question about new "old" models in the upcomming Metal Pack
BillBee replied to RipperShred's topic in POD HD
I am looking forward to using some of the XT/X3 series amps with the HD500s FX and FX loop (the 4cm of the X3 was so-so). Being able to rearrange the chain should add alot of life and spice. *woot* -
Another forum suicide. Alas poor Venom5150 we knew him not! -B
