  1. Hahahaha!! Awesome Rads! That guy could have used a L6 Can cozy! -B

    pickup booster

I'd say Nico is pretty much right on too. Its tough to say (IMO) if the PU Booster is acting like an exciter. Its tough to get singlecoils to do a HB tone and HBs to go SC. For a bit more ooomph I usually add a Tube Screamer in front of the amps with little gain but use the tone and volume (with an EQ too btw). -B
  3. Hey my man! What did you discover? Just curious to see if you have had some success. -B
  4. Nice bever!! Har har!! -B
  5. Like Pianoguy I have dumped alot of 500x into my 500 but I use the conversion utility: http://line6.com/support/topic/2164-pod-hd-tone-conversion-utility/ Aside from DSP they should be pretty much the same but you can always try the ute - in case there is some nomenclature that needs tweeking. -B
  6. Just tried it and it pops up for DL just fine. Its there. http://line6.com/software/ -B
  7. Hahaahaa!!! Cool.... I thought the early models had the cup holder? :P -B
  8. Hey There - start up the L6 License Manager the connect your XT and when it asks you to authorize, do so and see what the number is on your L6 page which should pop up. IIRC that is the same number. All else fails shoot an email at L6 support - http://line6.com/support/tickets/ Hope that helps, Bill
  9. FWIW I still really enjoy the XT/X3 models and still have an XT Pro stuffed in a rack case. The HD series is sweet (HD500 and a Desktop) but it is nice to fire up the XT if only for the metal pack. I still love the Big Bottom model on it and IMO it still sounds great. I was sitting on the fence for a while too but just said f-it - I'll keep both. -B
  10. Best wishes and Good Fortune to all of you!!! -B
  11. http://line6.com/support/topic/5226-gearbox-is-dead-what-a-shame/ What Zap said "some" have got it working go to the above and read the posts down near the bottom. A user seems to have found a way to get it going on his mac. -B
  12. You have to send the email to Line 6 my man. http://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html -B
  13. This is wrong info my man and I am not sure where you got it from. Go here: http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/effects-controllers/fbv-mki-mkii-controllers/the-complete-line-6-pedal-compatibility-faq-r58 A true 2.0 will have "FBV" above the port. I have used the MKII Express and MKI FBV with it (and the older FBX longboard) with no issues. Communication with the PC is done using a midi/usb cable for use with the L6 editing programs. -B
  14. Yep the X3 will stuff into the XT case. Did the same as you and tried the 2.0 one first :) Same for the FBV/pod bag both the XT and X3 fit that as well. -B
  15. Hey Man welcome to the forums, Describe your setup and cabling. Could be a few things: Noise gate? Hum - ground loop? When you say "color" what do you mean? As far as coloring the sound of your Marshall Stack I can only assume you are running the 4CM and its sucking the tone out of it a bit. You might have to screw with the EQ as it will do that. -B
  16. The FBV MkI has a larger backlit display (than the MKII IIRC) which I can see just fine. Depending on the genre of music you are doing it might look better than taking your hand off the guitar to poke at a tablet. FBs of any variety get to be second nature after you use them long enough. Unless you are reading lyrics of the tablet too it can cause some problems. Shame. :)
  17. The HD "is" widely popular and IMO is that at its price point Amplfi (and the new TT) is an excellent rig for a home jammer which is the intended market. If you are into the Kemper, Axe FX level of use then of course your "opinion" on the subject would be bias when considering its modeling and target audience. I still love the Xt/X3 models and on occasion still use them. You last comment could also be taken as trolling btw. The old "I apologize its my fault you suck" ploy. Just saying......
  18. Yep - hopefully he will check this out first. My amp guy starts at $75 to just set it on the floor :)
  19. Ahhhh - I would stop your experiments for now. If I read correctly you ran your Head's out channel into your Spider's ext speaker out? Yikes, my man its a bad idea and you are risking your equipment connecting them incorrectly. In theory you could disconnect your 2x12 speaker and rewire a jack (or jacks) assembly for the correct ohmage your head would require and mount it with a bracket in the rear of the cab. Might be better to pick up an extra cab though. -Bill
  20. and............. value will depend upon your intended application: live? or home jamming? I don't have a TT (yet? hmmmm still debating) but I have a few X3s which are easy to edit on the unit itself (or the PC) and with the FBV translate well to a live setting (and at home for recording). Yes Gearbox is not being updated so keep that in mind too (I have a few "retro" OSs running to take care of that for editing). For quick flip the switch and less muss and fuss for bedroom noodling the Amplifi series is quite inviting. So I do see the attraction there. I can't remember if the TT can do dual paths (if that is important to you) - so you may want to sit down and compare manuals and if you can try one out. Best -> both :) -B
  21. Quote: "Excuse me can I know the setting-effect joe satriani - always with me, pod hd 500?" Well you probably shouldn't pick random topics to post the request. You should go here and take a look around: http://line6.com/customtone/ Welcome to the forums btw! -Bill
  22. Pretty schnazzy my man! Be sure to upload it to Custom Tone! Nice vids too - I have watched them from time to time and have gotten some good ideas. Arpeggios (outside of the usual M and min) drive me nuts sometimes :-) -Bill
  23. Have you went into Control Panel-> Line 6 Audio/Midi Devices and tried to change it in there? I'm still on an XP but it should be similar for Win7. -B
