  1. I would try it again with a different cable and try another usb port if that doesn't work. Does Monkey see it? Or whatever OS you are running? You can also check to see if the usb port on the UX2 is damaged - center block, bent pins. -B
  2. http://line6.com/support/tickets/ Best way to go - shoot them the problems and they should be able to sort it out. -B
  3. Hey man good job. If that error can be repeated be sure to shoot the L6 guys an email. -B
  4. Hey my man - not a vetta user/owner but can't L6 Monkey do the "offline" reflash like one can do with the Pods? My understanding was too many people bricked their Vettas during failed reflashings - I am thinking it is probably the midi/usb cable, as a comm issue always pops up for the old Pod 2.0s which need them. -B

    Amplifi vs. HD

Hey RL I like to look at the X3 as a MFX not necessarily as a deep modeler per se. Can I get a good metal sound? blues? or cop a tone like a artist I like, yep. Still sound real good. Drawback -> seems to be the longevity of Gearbox for editing in relation to OS(s) moving forward with limited backwards compatibility. The HD is indeed the next level, to me at least, in realistic modeling as opposed to a really sweet MFX. So for some things like a quick down and dirty edit session for a good tone the XT/X3 can do it which I like it for. If its something that requires more depth and I want to invest more time in -> the HD hands down. I hope that made sense somewhat. -B
  6. Pretty Awesome my man! Love it. Listening to Big Bad Joe :) -B
  7. Hmmm I wonder if thinking about "lollipops" would work while looking at the amp? Kind of like trying to think about baseball while getting.... well at least we have a support group ;) -B
  8. To be honest with you a lot of the "will it sound good" questions are tough. My opinions and personal preference may not be the same flavor you prefer. That said, for me it will sound great. I like the power amp/cab combo myself and with a tube power amp it can get even better - to me. Others like a FRFR setup be it PA, keyboard amp etc. None are right or wrong just preference. You will have to put some time in with it and read the manual to get the most rewards. These forums have a wealth of info and The HD Bible: http://foobazaar.com/podhd/toneGuide/ IMO anything can sound bad. The HD is extremely versatile and has some deep editing options which can put some people off. True your fave Angus or Eddie tone will be a challange to dial in at first but with experience you will be able to get some really awesome tones. -B
  9. I love iTT! Ole Santa Bill is starting to develope some GAS (in a good way)! :) -B
  10. I <3 shameless plugs!!! Rock On Bro! -B
  11. Haa haaa I think you are correct Triryche! I think his neighbors got a sonic treat last night! -B
  12. This can be frustrating but hang in there. As a last resort dig up or borrow an old PC (WinXp if you can) and give it a go on that - its tough to determine if its the computer or the device sometimes. -B
  13. You know it could be just a matter of adjusting the input in the DAW. Just saying...... -B
  14. Whew! I was running out of things for you to look at too! Enjoy that puppy! -Bill
  15. Uh Oh that box is out in the open! Quick the wife is coming!!! Congrats man its gonna be a tough wait! -B
  16. I guess the question is have you tried it with an amp or headphones? Has it ever worked for you? Its either the unit or the PC. In Pod Farm can you see the level indicator moving when you play? Another thing to check is (for Windows at least) check in the Sound Properties that the UX2 is the in and out device. -B
  17. Have you turned up the volume on the UX2 itself? If the needles are moving all should be good. -B

    EQ Pedal

Sweet I thought that's what it was - good job Brazzy. Call it mojo but the tube seems to give a drive pedal a certain something :) Pedals ooooh...... don't talk to the ole lady about pedals! After a set I was talking to some local guitar guys and we began with the pedal talk and the wife just shook her head - lol!!! Gotta have tools in the toolbox, ya know ;) -B
  19. Yep good old days...sigh.... saw Prong open for Ozzy ~ 90 something (its a bit fuzzy) ;) -B

    EQ Pedal

Hey There Brazzy! The HD is indeed a big eq :) One of my favorites pedals was the Akai G-Drive (Eq->Drive->Eq) all in one massive tank like pedal. I used to always run a Boss GE-7 (crap and I think I still have a old as sin GE-6) but have had luck with an MXR-6 and have heard good things about the 10 band. Its really the key to get where my ears need things. BTW I have seen that 12ax7 drive pedal of yours somewhere too :) -Bill

    EQ Pedal

I hear ya - I bounce around a bit but end up pulling stuff back out and fall in love again....... Love Mick Ralphs too. The S-Jam is real nice too - don't have one but have had GAS for one here and there. -B
  23. I like to run the HD into a power amp (or the FX loop in on a head) then to the cab of choice (2x12, 1x12 or 4x12). It gives you a tonal variety which you couldn't get unless you had a wall of amps and cabs. From clean to mean in one board. -B
  24. You have to connect the PC speakers to the UX2. If they only have a 1/8" jack you should be able to use a 1/8" to 1/4" stereo adaptor. -B

    EQ Pedal

Hey Man! I don't see why you can't try it. IIRC the SJ doesn't have a fx loop but the EQ can certainly be used in front for tonal shaping or even a signal boost. Brazzy has a SJ and if he's tried it I'm sure he'll be by! Rock On! Bill
