FWIW - my old GNX4 has the same type tactile switches and would stick and not respond after years of being mashed. After a careful disassembly I gave them an application of DeOxit contact cleaner and they all came back to functionality. I can't say that it will fix your problem but if you are out of warrenty it may be something to consider having done. -B

The usb adaptor idea is in the right direction - if they made a right angled version it could be hot glued in place. I finally picked up a HD Bean so I can that usb always in for tone working then transfer over to the HD500 if needed. My pups like to run all over things so I've been trying to keep the $$ of the floor in common chaos areas :) -B

Like myself the 11 people may or may not have a Spider IV/Online. I found this old doc which might help you dial in some tones: http://line6.com/media/club/spideriv/SpiderIV75_settings.pdf or for a Spider Online: http://line6.com/spideronline/tones/spideriv30/?sort=posted&sort_dir=DESC Hopefully you can get in the ballpark and tweak it from there. -Bill

Not a Mac dude myself, but I support open source software and that is a good idea though I don't know how much proprietary code would be in Gearbox that L6 would want out there. IMO it is a competitive market and the editors can be a big tipping point in sales. -B

I am with you Joel. I have tried the 4CM into the PA (very nice) but my ears like it straight into a power amp & depending on the cab I flip through the output setting (studio direct, combo power.. etc..) to find the better match. My current favorite is an older 100w valvestate I recently dusted off. -B

Thanks for posting the tones Allen, I will try and give them a run this weekend - I've been trying to move into a Vai'ish style lately and have been working on a bit of pitch shifting integration. He and Satch make it seem alot easier than it is :) Thanks Again! Bill

No probs my man! Just paying it forward - I have stalked these boards for a loooong time :) I made a separate folder for "the keepers" to save them unmodified in case I need to go back to the original. Load up a tone you like in L6E and if you like it, then yes you can save it to the slot of your choice on the Pod. Rock On! Bill

FWIW - I have a newer UX2 and a older Toneport (no UX1) and as long as the model packs are the same Pod Farm sounds identical. -B

Thanks Peter, I've really liked the way these have turned out and its helping me with setting up some of my own tones. -Bill

Cheers my man! Download a tone (or the BAB - big @ss bundle) and fire them up in L6E then store the ones that pass muster on your Pod :) There are alomost too many on there but once you separate the wheat from the chaff you will find some gems. -B

Try using a delay in front of the chain set at a really low ms time. There was also a trick using a chorus but its been a loooong time - IIRC I think it was putting the chorus early in the chain and using the the setting to dial in a subtle delay. -B

Hey Allen, Once purchased they are your model packs so if you can dig up an old email addy (from that account) L6 "might" be able to find the account for you. Unless you gave it to someone else. -B

If Line 6 Edit is running and you go into (IIRC) one of the tabs at the top and select the mdi ins and outs and it still doesn't see the Pod. Then it may be your midi/usb cable. If you got a $3 special they usually don't work well - I would suggest you try the M-Audio Uno (be sure to get the lastest drivers for it too). That usually makes things work with L6 Edit. -B

Awesome my man - hopefully if someone else has the same problem this will help them. Score for Garbanzo! -Bill

^ Nico is right - usb ports can cause issues - no hubs either. Did windoze detect the HD and go through the new hardware found routine? You may want to consider uninstalling everything and starting the installations again. Be sure to grab either the 32/64 bit version you need. -B

Pod 2.0. 17-32 amp models??
BillBee replied to ericSDMF's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Cool my man, The classic Pod is a still a great all around MFX which is pretty easy to dial in! Take Care! Bill -
Hey there, I hear you, this happens once in a while with my XTL. With the XT off, try turning all the knobs about 20 times left then right all the way round. Sometimes the knobs get dirt or dust in them and the encoders get a lil jumpy. IMO your XT is possessed by some good tones only :) Hope that helps, Bill

No I read it (and to me - correct me if I am wrong) you basically compared the HD to some VSTs. You thought the VSTs sounded vastily better and that L6 should have more updates to remain competitive. You are dissapointed in the Pod and will be selling it. To run your HD in a live situation you could always go straight to the PA. As with any FX there will be a floorboard 9/10. If L6 is not for you - sell it and move on. Regards! Bill

Hmmmm The default HD500x setlist was posted here today I do believe a DL and conversion to the ole 500 is in order tonight! Good eye Huub! -B

Bought Used Where to start
BillBee replied to zovs66's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Ah but the triple pack gives 3 for the price of 2 which you could authorize on both your XTs (if the current packs go poof). But I do understand :) -B -
I thought you played one on TV :) With time so short I would suggest you stick to your studio/session rig to give you some time to learn the HD. Even the different output modes can cause tonal differences. This link is priceless too: http://foobazaar.com/podhd/toneGuide/ -B

Bought Used Where to start
BillBee replied to zovs66's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Hey Bo, Some model packs are included depending on the model of pod. The XTL comes with the FX Junkie and is always with it so that would never go. The XT, XT Pro, XTL come with the standard and the Power Pack. If you bought the packs (triple pack is what I have) you can authorize them to be used an a variety of things (IMO they bring the XTs to life). Check em out: http://line6.com/modelPacks/index.html Or you could score an X3 in which case everything is already included :) -B -
Yeah I agree it does sound real good - thanks for that. When I get home I have to DL it and dissect the EQ section - I had a handle on the fizz in the XT/X3 but the HD is a different beast :) \m/ Bill

Copying patches from PodXT Bean to PodXT live
BillBee replied to boocephus's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Cool beans my man - I shall keep the midi - midi trick in my pocket. I still fire up the ole XT and XTL, now and again, and yessir they still make some purdy music. The FX Junkie pack can get pretty out there. Glad everything is cool! Bill
