  1. Yeah but keep hope alive. There is new product developement going on and I (IMHO) like to think that the desktop will be included. Love the beans myself (that I and have quite a few of the different floorbaords) :) -B
  2. I used to pick up CB radios now and again when I lived near a freeway (back in the old days) - always fun. Reminds of the classic tune Beer Breaker :)
  3. Welcome to the Forums Bobby, The vids may be old but they are still relevant and use the correct terminology for the purposes you need. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_u8j9ZAUzC4 That is the vid for an X3L but its the same for X3. 1) Download a tone from CT (link is at the top of this page). 2) Connect your X3 via usb cable to your PC. It should install it. 3) Start Gearbox and you should see your X3 detected. 4) 2 windows will open the "HW Memory Window" of tones on your X3 and the editor itself. 5) Drop & Drag the tone you downloaded into a slot of your choice 6) There is an option at the top left to save (its either sync or save - not home so its a IIRC). The vid will go through visually what is done albeit a lil briskly at times. But once you are connected to Gearbox things will look more familiar and you give you a frame of reference. -B
  4. Well you can certainly give it a shot - it will depend on how the SV likes drive pedals in front. There is no reason the X3L can't be used as a mod/delay pedal board in the loop with the TD coming in the front of the amp. Don't trip on those cables! :P -B
  5. There's a blast from the past - I still have one of those in a box somewhere - real nice sounding. I've never ran the pedal version into anything other than an old Fender Champ but I have used the rack mounted one into various power amps which sounded pretty good. This may sound nuts but IIRC a TS clone in front of the Tube Driver (little to no drive at first) seemed to really beef it up. The grain of salt warning is the IIRC part, I may have been stacking the TS in front of a different OD pedal (it has been years......). FWIW I don't see anything why it couldn't be done to see what it sounds like on the Spider's power amp. I would turn the volume on the pedal way down first though - it may get loud :) Maybe a SV owner who tried this will pop by with thier power amp experience/recommendation. Let us know how it goes. -B
  6. The ole "id10t" error raises its ugly head (no pun not intended). ;)
  7. Excellent my man! We've all done that too. If you ever get the chance try it with a tube power amp even a lil 5w Kustom defender screams. -B
  8. You do make a good point and I agree somewhat with Rlblues. But there is still a gathering on masses that want a standalone device for easy travel minimum setup outside of the home. Should be interesting to see what L6 has up their sleeve. -B
  9. Hmmmm you should hear a difference even if subtle - even cranking the gain? Still try it with L6 Edit and you will "know" the model is loaded and what settings are there. Yep when you shut the Pod off with the amp on you will hear a noise, happens with my D-Tech Stuff, Zoom, R-Tron..... I turn the amp off first. Clip -> indicates your input is hitting the ceiling. Hitting a chord hard or using hot/active PUs will do this. But if its once in a while no biggie. I've had a Pod Bean since V1 and still love them in the various editions. It can be under whelming at first but as you get into it the tones will come. Which is another reason to get it connected to the 'puter -> you can download tones into it. That is a good way to find a base tone and tweak it to your ear and gear. -B
  10. Hi Chas! Do us a solid and post a follow-up if you can. Issue found, part replaced, $ estimate (stuff like that). It should help others in the future who are on the fence regarding repairs. Thanks! Bill
  11. Not your PS, you jammin at the library Brazzo? :) I hear ya on the RF I would get that once in a while from the ole PC and a lamp with a CFL - maddening I tell ya! Thanks for the info! Bill
  12. Hey There DD and welcome to the site :) If everything else is good except for the model pack not being authorized or found (and you are certian you are using the Login for the account you purchased it with) you need to shoot a support ticket to L6. They should be able to fix things. http://line6.com/support/tickets/ -B
  13. I think the OP is talking about running two cabs in mono at 4 ohms each. Not recommended. However dependning on the speakers rewiring for your needs is do-able (and pretty easy): http://www.usspeaker.com/speaker%20wiring-1.htm Hope the link will clarify things a bit. That said 2 (2x12)s spread out is a beast too. -B
  14. I think that statement of "but people bought this with the implication that, like previous Line 6 devices, the number of models would grow" is misleading. I would say that people bought the HD series because its one of the best affordable modeling units out there. Extra models and such are gravey, if it comes "sweet" if not "there are still no short comings model wise"... there is so much that can be dialed in already if the time is put in. Not saying I wouldn't like "more" but I would rather have the L6 efforts spent on firmware and OS support (all IMHO) for now. Now the next gen of Pod that will be another story :) -B
  15. If its under warrenty I would have to agree - return it. If the tuner is seeing the signal and there is no sound output otherwise it could be the MoBo. Hopefully a SIV guy will pop in and give you some better advice. If not I would recommend submitting a support ticket (if you are going to keep it): http://line6.com/support/tickets/ -B
  16. Hey Clay, I would only replace the part you know is bad. No point in poking a hot iron at things that are fine :) Taking the HD apart? Never did an HD but if it is anything like an X3L it should be straight forward. Take photos, go slow and don't force anything. Knobs, screws etc, all have been logically screwed in there. Use little bins labeled "chasis, front, back , etc" as there were a lot and it will help in reassembly. That would be the time to address any switch issues too. -B
  17. Hey Plumber Dude, You are going to have to list what the problem is and what you are trying to connect it to. Any errors? With L6 Monkey? Gearbox? How are you connecting it? PC/Mac? What OS? What have you tried so far? Stuff like that. If you have another thread somewhere I missed - sorry :) -B
  18. Hi There Marcelo, There are a few things which "may" cause this: Power supply, firmware, corrupt tones. The easiest is to try a reflash "without" saving your tones. You already backed them up before right? This will make sure that nothing is throwing an error when trying to load a bad tone. http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/pod/pod-x3/pod-x3-series-factory-reset-reflash-and-firm-r412 Read though the page and try the "safe mode" reflash: Q: How do I reflash in "safe mode"? A: Safe mode can be used when a unit cannot be reflashed using the normal reflash procedure. Hold the four-way arrow key to the right while powering the POD X3 unit on to start your unit in safe mode. You can then reflash the unit as decribed above. The next thing to try is another Power Supply: PX-2/PX-2g AC: (Stomp modelers, All PODs, XT, and X3 series, XPS, Micro Spider): Output: 9V AC, 2000mA. Plug Length: 10.5mm, Diameter: 5.5mm, Center Pin: 2.5mm. Hopefully one of the above will sort the issue out. -Bill
  19. Hey There and welcom to the L6 forums! Yeah you should hear a change - some may be more subtle than others. Is the tap button working? Can you tap tempo a delay to check it out? It has been a while so I can't remember if there is a led that pops when in alt mode (I want to say no). You could fire up the Line 6 Edit program too as a check. Then you will know for sure. But if everything else is working fine it may just be a sticky tap tempo button. -B
  20. I like the blue one  . .. ... She's here isn't she?
  21. Put the looper at the end and use its head phone jack it what I do with one of the old 2 button D-Tech Jammans. Guitar->pod->looper->headphones you will have to play with the levels a tad to avoid clipping. -B
  22. I like the idea for being able to drop-d during a cover set but other than that I do agree not needed (never been a big fan of seeing the headstock tuners during a performance either mind you) :) Loved that tune - one day a "what's in your mp3 player" game would be interesting! -B
  23. If the amplifi is in the woods and no one is there................ One day this grasshopper will snatch that pick from Sensi Triryche's hand! ^_^ -B
  24. Thanks CP, One last thing try a safe mode flash - copied from another thread: -B If it has never been serviced AND you've had it fror about 2 years with no problems, let's try to reflash the unit in safe mode: Under the LCD screen are four solid black keys: Press and hold down the first one on the left while powering on the unit. This boots it into safe mode. Now connect it to your computer and launch Line 6 Monkey. Proceed to reinstall EVERY item under the UPDATES tab. Let me know if that works. Try it again if the first time does not work. If after the second attempt the problem still persists, please consult a service center in your area. You can find one here: http://line6.com/support/serviceCenters/
  25. I hate to to recommend support tickets unless all things were tried but I have not seen a solution to the USB and ESN 00000000 issue (hardware). http://line6.com/support/tickets/ Unless someone else can come up with something else to try I would start one. Sorry I couldn't help you more. -B
