  1. Not a mac guy but have you two read through this thread to see if it is the same issue? http://line6.com/support/topic/9951-pod-x3-live-osx-yosemite/ -B
  2. Pod Farm is really good but I don't know if it is "god"-ware :) If you actually list your issues clearly someone might be able to help you. -B
  3. Pretty sweet thread - I've been stalking Glenn's y-tube vids for a long long time :) I have to try GS's settings too. I've used The Amazing Slowdowner (I think that's the name) for slowing down and pitch changing and it works pretty well - export out the adjusted file. The boys have some VH and that tuning varies per album :) -B
  4. IIRc there is a mixer control in WinXP (what I have) where you can set the input volume for the line in. I generally use an amp or headphones w/ Reaper myself. Someone who knows better than I will most likely pop by who is familiar with Sonar and if there are any required settings. -B
  5. From the ole L6 archives :) This should work. -B Hi, Run the analog outputs of your TonePort into the Line Input of your computer. This will only work if you have external computer speakers connected to your computer. You'll need to purchase a y cable with two (2) 1/4" mono leads on one end (connect these to the TonePort) and one (1) 1/8" stereo lead on the other end (conenct this to your computer's Line In). 6. Hey There, Take this with a grain of salt. I think it depends on who made the track and what their terms of use are. IIRC one site I used some time ago said it was cool to use them BUT you had to give them credit. When in doubt its always best to get written permission or make your own - what I did. -B
  7. Hmmm it does make a difference as to what HD you have and we are talking about a "safe mode reflash" not a reset. From Spaceatl's old post: http://line6.com/supportarchivenew/thread/53467 You can bring the HD400 up in safe mode the same way you do for a reset... Power up holding A. connect the USB cable start the monkey and try to flash it. If it isn't coming up correctly in the Monkey, kick off the driver install from Monkey, unplug the HD400 USB and follow the driver install prompts...Once the driver is in, you should be able to flash...I would suggest that you avoid installing the driver again in the all in one installs of Edit and Monkey.... It looks like your firmware got bonkered and needs to be reinstalled not reset. Hope that helps. Bill
  8. If you aren't using the Metal Pack on the XT then it won't matter for the tones on the XTL. I do love that Big Bottom amp. :) I've never done the midi to midi transfer so I can't help you on that but if its in the manual you can always give it a spin. But Gearbox is the easier way to go "if" you get it installed and working. The manual that comes with it is pretty straight forward. If you run into specific problems be sure to pop back and let us know. -B
  9. Cheers my man!!!! Glad it worked out! -Bill
  10. Hey there been doing a bit of the HD500 to Desktop myself lately. IIRC there are some "issues" being worked out for the conversion of 300/400 tones to the other models. -B
  11. Checking the Power Supply and a Safe mode reflash are the usual mortal fixes I've seen. Someone else may pop by with a better method but until that happens I would suggest opening a support ticket: http://line6.com/support/tickets/ Power surges can effect components in a really bad way. -B
  12. Make sure the other power supply is the exact same specs as the X3L. Try this to reflash: Q: How do I reflash in "safe mode"? A: Safe mode can be used when a unit cannot be reflashed using the normal reflash procedure. Hold the four-way arrow key to the right while powering the POD X3 unit on to start your unit in safe mode. You can then reflash the unit as decribed above. It may need to be serviced. -B
  13. Hey there - try this: IIRC Power Up with the Nav Pad Down = should let you hit the reflash mode. That should do it. If it fails be sure to post back and list system specs and such. -B
  14. Easy Peasy my man - I've done it myself. Save the patches you need to your XT folder and then load them on the XTL. While you are in there be sure to back up the bean - just in case. -B
  15. If its one light it might be normal (the left one on the usb side IIRC).
  16. The Uno's lights will only flash when data is being transferred. IIRC there is only one light on when idle. Did you try reversing the connections? In to In Out to Out. MD5 is a checksum used for data checking to make sure its all good. Hmmm re DL and reinstall? When I used the cheapo midi/usb it would connect but the errors came when trying to do the data transfers. On some equipment it wouldn't even do that. -B
  17. Hey there almost forgot - once you get L6 Edit fired up, you have to go into the preferences and select the midi "ins and out". If you haven't already be sure to update java too. Let us know how it turns out. -B
  18. Hey not sure how much of this you haven't already tried but here goes: Have you tried resetting the noise gates/compressor you have in the chains? (EQs may be worth a look at too). A few of the hotter pu's I have seem to trigger the "squash" faster then others. But I hear what you guys are saying and there are times where a patch has to be tweaked per guitar. -B
  19. Have you reconnected the UX1 to the license manager yet? It do believe it needs to authorize the pack for use on it. On PF if you go to the About tab (one of those in the upper right corner) you will see what packs are loaded. -B
  20. BTW -> http://clients.teksavvy.com/~ccoutlee/podman.htm You might give this a try too :) -B
  21. For S and Grins try reversing the Midi connections. For some odd reason I have to go "in to in and out to out" with the M-Audio I have. It works this way with the R-Tron, D-Tech and Zoom stuff I have too. I am still running XP 32-bit so I can't give any Win7 pointers. Hope it works out! -B
  22. Be sure to get the 64 bit version of Edit. http://line6.com/software/?name=Line%206%20Edit&submit_form=set -B
  23. I would second the X3 but would score an XT while waiting for a deal on one - depends on the $ and you can always flip the XT later. If you do check out some used XTs watch the startup screen to see if any model packs are already loaded. They will be functional until you register it or if the seller is cool transfers the pack to your account then they are yours. Also check out Reaper for use as a DAW mostly so you can add drums to the tracks. Score an old Peavey 1x12 Bandit run it into the FX loop and you have practice band volume to spare too. -B
  24. Well lets assume its this: Sometimes the Pods get knob jitter (or some dirt or dust in the encoders) where vibrations (or it seems looking at it the wrong) can cause the setting to jump. My XTL does this once in a while. Try rotating the offending knob many times one way and then many times the other way (~ 20). Hope that helps, Bill
  25. Hey there - I don't have a flextone so YMMV on this one - but I would try to find out what impedance the amps require. 8, 16, 4 ohm. Going up is usually safe going lower in hard on the T-formers. -B
