Hey there, For my HDBean and HD500 there was no "success" message on the units themselves, just the message in monkey. You can go to page 8 of the view menu and see the packs installed and there is another page in there which should show the firmware. You will have to do the pedal calibration - http://line6.com/supportarchivenew/thread/55648/ Check your input settings, make sure it is set to input1 - guitar. I had been doing some vocs and forgot and wondered why no guitar sound was coming out either. I am hoping its just a settings issue for you. -Bill

Well I ran through the process on the HD500 as well, and the packs are not in the little L Manager box but I get the "add ons install" button up top. Computer authorized too. But everything gets loaded and authourized per page 8 of the HDs system menu so its all good. As it happened on both the Bean and HD500 its more likely a 'puter issue :) But in case anyone has this issue hold down the "view" button on the HD and go to page 8 the packs will be listed on that menu page. Love the amp addons! Time to get greedy and start pushing for some FX packs! ;) \m/ Bill \m/

Panning output and editors
BillBee replied to bobka777's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Offhand I would try using a stereo delay (with 0 ms) at the end of chain and pan to the side you want. Sorry I can't help you better but I always run it in mono. -Bill- 1 reply

I finally got around to doing the firmware/usb update and model pack install last evening myself. After launching the License Manager the packs didn't show up in the "add - on" box but there was a note saying something like "you have addons to be installed" or something similar above it. Hit the yes button, it does its thing, cycle power and still not listed in the LM box but they are there in the bean, fully functional as checked in HD Edit. Who knows, either I screwed the pooch, have an old version of LM or its the way it is, either way they are in the bean and work. I'll try the HD500 install tonight and see what's what. FWIW :) B!ll

Per another thread my man - the account can't be deleted but they can do your personal info. You can probably scrub it yourself and just abandon it TBH. L8R! Bill

I don't own a Variax but might be able to help you nonetheless. Does the X3L have any output with a normal guitar? If "no" check your input settings - (set it to guitar). Set to tone 1 and check again. Next would be to check to see if the tuner is getting a signal. -B

I would try again with the support ticket my man - sometimes there are too few people and too many problems for a speedy solution. BTW I think you can use the purchase of 1 model pack on 4 devices so you probably didn't need to buy two. You can confirm via a support ticket (in case you bought them during the recent sale) - might save a few $ :) -B

Pod xt live and amplifi FX100
BillBee replied to slimjaty's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
I don't have an Amplifi so take this with a grain of salt. Try using different output modes on the XTL. Tones will vary based on the physical amp used as well. Tone matching is tough without using the same equipment. -Bill -
Ditto here! The HD series sounds great running "line in" to an amp - direct mode too. :)

They did the same thing back in the day with the XT/PF packs, I do think you will have another chance. :) -B

Awesome my man! Great playing too! \m/ Bill \m/

If I was a gambling man I would say 4th of July.

Really nice sounds. Thanks for sharing the tones too. I've been dabbling a bit with the ambient tones recently myself and this will help. -Bill

Yep Love Rob and Steve's videos and the dudes can shred! Really good stuff. :)

Registering Toneport UX2
BillBee replied to Ronnie6's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
http://line6.com/support/tickets/ Exact info is probably not needed as the warrenty is looOoong gone. A support ticket should fix all problems with ESN issues. It could be under a different user ID you forgot about, for example. Welcome to the forums btw! Bill- 1 reply

The POD Settings Bible
BillBee replied to marvenik's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Hmmm to edit the Pod 2.0 you will need a midi to usb adaptor. The M-Audio Uno is the one of choice. The cable will allow the pod to communicate with the Line 6 Edit program. When you load a tone into the editor it will show you what settings are being used. The real benefit is that some knobs do multiple things (as a geek I am sure you have read the manual a few times) so it is tough to graphically show the picture if you took one. However, I am sure your buddy has developed his ear and that after a bit of screwing around he will get the hang of it. http://line6.com/supportarchivenew/thread/57305/ This post has the links at the bottom. The manuals come in 5-6 languages to that will help him too. http://line6.com/support/manuals/pod2/ Hope that helps! OOooo Lick Library had a Pod DvD at one time there may be some YouTube clips still up. -Bill -
Shhhhhhh... Phil, I think our IT guy is one of them young whippersnappers with a fancy phone. :) -B

Anyone run their HD500X into the effects return of a guitar amp?
BillBee replied to Rocco_Crocco's topic in POD HD
I've run into the FX return on many SS combos and they usually sound decent to great (depends on the speakers in them - to me at least). Peavey Bandits were always a fave. Now I just drag a Tech 21 PE60 but I am planning to go ampless/direct. Studio/direct is normally what I set the output for - sometimes combo power amp. -B -
Hit 47 this year. Still love fx and tech (and yes I still have a box of my Rockman stuff ). :) What do we win? -Bill

The POD Settings Bible
BillBee replied to marvenik's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Hey Marvenik, I looked into that book years ago but after taking a bunch of their sample pages and editing some in, I found them lacking. Most POD settings are ballpark at best and still require a bunch of tweaking to fit "your gear". If there is a certain tone you are shooting for one way to go about it is to look up the gear the guitarist uses and try to edit the tones. Try some of the online tones from here and tweak a bit (some are pretty decent to start with) Just my opinion mind you. If its just a matter of really wanting it there are some used book search engines you can try. Take Care and welcome to the forum. Bill -
My rule of thumb is to match the existing part for what was in there already. If it worked before it should work again unless there is another issue which cause it to pop in the first place. I take it you are in the UK so I don't know if there are any different fuses used do to being across the pond. Push comes to shove and if one of our UK brothers don't pop in, either call L6 or shoot a support ticket. -B

Can't access line 6 edit
BillBee replied to scottkatz's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Gearbox is the editor for the older versions of the Pod XT, X3... For the HD series you need HD Edit. If you are having problems you should post your question in the HD section of the forum so the right people will see it. Edit: BTW L6 gear does not work well with USB hubs. -B
