  1. I don't have a MKII yet so I can't tell you what the extra upper switch is for but with the MKI I have no probs with the HD Bean (mind you I don't use the looper ever if thats what the switch is for). The MKI display is actually a bit larger.
  2. I know exactly what you are talking about. I took one of the rubber feet to the hardware store bought bolts, washers and nuts (I can't tell you the size as its been over a year). Screwed them in the bracket and put electrical shrink tubing over the threads. I use the amp handle of a Tech 21 Power Engine 60 in lieu of the mic stand. You could probably use a couple of the thin velcro cable ties to really secure the Bean to the mount and stand, if onltyfor peace of mind. :) -B
  3. Fire up Gear Box and deselect the amp model - there might be a clean one in there too (tube pre?). You can also turn off all FX there. Sorry to be brief but I'm getting buried by work today. :)
  4. HAHAHAHA!! I hear you Bro. I have to ditch the cigs too and its been a mofo. That first cup of coffee in the morning.............. \m/ Pulling for ya! \m/ B
  5. While I don't use the ext2 pedal often on the HD500 I have used a Zoom brand pedal (FP02 IIRC) and worked fine. The Rocktron Hex was a no go.
  6. I've always preferred Studio Direct for the XTs. The VS sounds great on its own so usually just ran the XT into the FX loop in lieu of the front end when I paired the two. Perfect output though is subjective. What I like might sound like crap through your gear and visa versa. Just hook it up in a variety of ways and play around with it. Its the best method for getting to know what it can and can't do.
  7. Does the L6 Monkey see the HD? If it does see if everything has green ticks or you might need to let it update the drivers and firmware.
  8. Hmmm.. if you could somehow route the UX1 into it maybe. Your PodFarm copy is tied to the UX1 and uses it as a dongle for authorization.
  9. Cool Dude. I know how you feel (having said to myself "where are all the tones?") but once the baby steps are over the fun really starts. Don't get frustrated and if you get the time there are a lot of great old posts in the HD section. \m/
  10. Having to use IE today for posting. Chrome works fine for all other sites. But even here in IE, pasting doesn't work. That's one way to keep posts brief I guess. No problems here. I typically use Firefiox, the above text in blue is copied from Firefox tthen pasted, font color edited, and posted with Chrome. IE 9 here: Cut and paste is fine. Hmmmmm who knows.
  11. Power supplies fail - they almost all do over time. L6 has the PS in the store (last time I looked). But there are online vendors too like Sweetwater that carry them. http://store.line6.com/accessories/power.html -B
  12. Don't hold me to this but I think the MWA is the old old one. But if the specs are the same it should be good to go.
  13. Support ticket my man - like what was said in your other thread.
  14. Oooo not good. Does the Line 6 Monkey recognize the XT? Be sure to try a different cable too.
  15. http://line6.com/support/tickets/ Read the info there and submit a support ticket.
  16. The XTL is still cool and gets great tones my man. If you have downloaded the flash file you have to use the L6 Monkey to do the update. Choose the option "update from file". That's how I usually do the flash updates on my L6 gear. -B
  17. Hey Man, I would try it on a different computer. I don't have a Mac but there have been issues with the latest Mac OS. IIRC peeps have been going to a Mac Beta OS which has cleared up a bunch of issues with thier UX(s). If you go to some of the other sections here you can read all about it. -B
  18. There used to be a "spider capo" or something like that, but IIRC it didn't have the intervallic spacing between the strings. The PITA factor looks suspect. Neat idea though. :)
  19. First thing is to check the inputs. Set 1 to guitar 2 to mic. It cuts down on a signal boost. I always run direct out btw. But a lot might be a personal thing and its tough to guage what "digital sounding" means per se in the context of what type of tones you are trying to get. The HD has a learning curve but it is well worth it to stick it out and it does "the metal" real good. A good thing to do would be to spend the day reading older posts and running a google search for Line 6 HD editing or metal something like that for some tuts.
  20. In the Defender's case, not really, there is not much in the way of a preamp there. Though it can be driven with pedal or such into distortion. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/amplifiers-effects/kustom-defender-5h-guitar-amp-head Just saying it depends what you are looking to do and how loud you want to go. -B
