Hey Joel Seeing Sabbath this Friday and I think they are swing through Mich again in the summer! \m/ BTW does the Raven drummer still do the exploding helmet? Love that band.

Its never a waste of time OR. FRFR is not the law its an option. At the end of the day it is your ears and what makes your toes tingle. :)

If its not turning gray its falling out my man! :D

I used to take tab from Guitar World or Guitar for the Practicing Musician look at the progression and lay it down on cassette. They used to answering machine tapes where it would loop after say 30 seconds. I could then run the scales for leads over those. A DAW would do the same for ya. A great teacher is priceless but the learning part has to be in the woodshed.

Is that $200 used or new? :) Yep got some nice compliments on my EB Musicman, sounded awesome, etc.., poor fella was crushed when I told him it was a cheap OLP Copy. I wouldn't drive by some of the places with a $5k guitar in the car. But from a pro's perspective I understand the sentiment.

Hey now don't dismiss a good turf vs grass debate and cleat length. Turf-toe hurts buddy! :)

You are right 100% right Joel but what else can I call it when its made virtual. :) and they had tubes!!! (at least the real old ones). Amazing what a bunch of 0s and 1s can do.

Remember the show Cheers where Norm would always go to the Hungry Heffer? Its not beef its beff. Joyo -> Heilips. :P Makes one wonder if in the distant future the amp mfgs could patent their signature tones for a royalty on them being modeled.
-
Man its been a while since that question came up. :) In the 2.0 - tuner mode with vol turned up. XT -> should be a "bypass setting" in the amp models. -B

Hey Brazzster - yep back when ciggies would only harm you if pregnant and you could wait a week for a printout! :)

Eeesh isn't that for really old mainframe apps? The old languages were some pretty clean code.

The X3L for me. I always dug the chrome holes.

You get $50! Score! After a gig last winter I got a can of PBR and $5. and no I didn't quit my day job. :P

Thanks fellas that points me in the right direction of what to research prior to demoing some. My home PA is an external power amp / speakers, nothing fancy just an old Peavey setup. It does sound great but its not gig portable like a powered FRFR. Solo playing, yep sounds great. Band mix? eh depends on how the drums and bass are. The only times the PA sounded better was on the cleaner tunes (less ham handed high hats and bowel moving bass). But I tend to roll off the high highs and low lows when on the PA (ironically to sound like the amp/guitar cab). :) Good stuff thanks again. Fortran 77 anyone? Real fun using punch cards to program that language. :) -B

Here is a good question: What physical characteristics are different between a guitar cab and a FRFR cab? Tweeter, sub, materials? I just haven't sat down and put in a lot of time yet. As far a guitar cabs go I have found the best response from SS amp, a 2x12 open back with GT1275s. Real crisp. A V30 in a 1x12 closed back was OK with a SS power amp but sparkled with a small 5w tube head in front. That darn rabbit hole, eh? :) -B

Wait till we convert you to hex! :P

What's a Hz? Some kind of %? Nice one. -Honky

I would say no unless something goes wrong.

Pod Floor Plus Rattling
BillBee replied to starman's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Never took mine apart but if its like the XTL and X3L all the bottom screws for sure. That might be it. The case was a bit different than the XT/X3's and it might just be a bottom tray IIRC. You probably just need to get a corner/side to drop to shake out the "thing". :)- 4 replies

Cool stuff Ari! It would be cool to see/hear what happens to the sound when a hot chick walks in. :)

If you have already updated the flash memory then it would be a good idea to shoot a support ticket into L6. Try to do a reflash again and if it still fails then it probably needs to be serviced. If you have a spare power supply you should try that as well. http://line6.com/support/tickets/

There are a bunch of decent cab wiring websites so do some searching. Basically, speakers in series add ohms while is parallel get reduced. Two 8 ohm speakers in series go to 16 ohms (8 + 8) while the same 2 in parallel go to 4 ohms (8/2). There are a lot of different ways but those are the most basic to get to terms with. BTW (I know you know already) use a speaker cable for the head to cab not a guitar cable. \m/

There is a way to do that with the pocket pod IIRC. Shoot over to moltenvoltage.com pretty cool stuff.
