  1. Well fire up Pod Farm and select Mic as the input. Its been a while since I've used my UX2 but I want to say you need to try the either the knob on top for volume or in PF. But if the green light is on and the drivers are all installed you just need your DAW to detect the UX as the input source. I use Reaper and I have to go in a select which unit I am using (HD, UX, etc...) if things are good the level meters should be indicating a signal.
  2. Its not that the fan-boys would not like "more", its we have reasonable expectations for a relatively new product. Almost every MFX L6 has had has went through the same path. OS support, more FX, more models...etc. "More" will more than likely come after the initial buying surges wane a bit. As was said before, patience, sometimes its worth waiting for something done right rather than something done quick.
  3. Are you trying to authorize PF or the UX2? PF2 is a no go without the UX2 connected (unless you bought a separate PF2 license).
  4. Try changing your soundcard sample rate to: dvd quality ~ 16 bit and 48000 mhz. You may have to uninstall/reinstall the driver's too. I don't have Win10 but it worked for some other peeps.
  5. Go to the link above "support" and shoot a Support Ticket into to Line 6. They won't sell you one direct but can direct you to an authorized service center. There is a bit more to it than the plug and unplug.
  6. To reset an XT you have to reflash it. You might want to try it on a friend's computer if its still a no go for yours.
  7. Wow that is a beautiful guitar what a splendid combo! Congrats on the new baby!
  8. I've never heard of the Packs disappearing on their own unless a reflash was done. But there is a first time for everything. You need to run the license manager to have the authorization for the XTL. When you purchased them they are linked to your account (except the FX junkie or maybe the power pack - one of those was included). So as long as you have your account info to prove you bought them things should go smooth on that side. Now for your connection issues I don't have Win10 so all I can say is try searching the forums here and try a different usb cable and check the usb port on the unit for any physical damage (missing center block, bent wires, etc..).
  9. Hey Ron, Missed this....... in a nut shell, to me at least, it adjusts the cab sound. But you really should check out that Pod 2 manual for a better explanation. The PP uses it in the same way. -B
  10. Hey PF I think you are correct it has the DSP increase not really memory. I think the footswitches were redone as well on the HDx.
  11. Try Pod farm 1 that should work with all the model packs. I don't know how accurate this is but I want to say PF2 was enabled for some X3s if they were purchased after a certain date. But you should go through the license manager first to see if that is where the problem is, PF2 might need to have the X3s authorization confirmed.
  12. Fire up the Vyzex editor (you downloaded from L6) after you connect the midi/usb cable (use the M-Audio Uno). Dl tones to your pc and use the editor for transfer. How many? IIRC 16 banks at 4 per. The manual has the info.
  13. Who knows dude. You have to be careful with PS and fx. I usually sharpie what the PS is for in case I have an old man moment. :) It might not be fried if you can see if you can try a PS from a store like Guitar Center, they are usually pretty cool if they have one on hand.
  14. One thing to check too is fire up HD Edit and check the settings in there. Amp vol, mixer levels, pan, exp pedal... stuff like that. If its a used unit who knows what the prior guy had stuff set to.
  15. If memory serves this was brought up before with a different device (UX2 - IIRC) and it was a no. The answer being was the UX2 acts as the authorization dongle for PF. PF2 is a self standing product. I can't see how the X3 would be any different. You can try and use PF1 (well no add-ons unless you bought them) in a pinch. But if it works let us know. I could buy a dead X3 and transfer the PF license. <- forgot the j/k part btw :)
  16. SLAYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. I know about the top secret "can-cozy" but this is sweet. ;) http://www.guitarworld.com/gear-news/line-6-ariax-air-guitar-never-felt-real/28944
  18. Like choosing a cab. Acoustic Integrated Recording. Its explained pretty good in the POD 2.0 manual.
  19. IMO you should leave it off until all your tones are where you want them for your main rig. Then if you switch rigs you can use it to nudge the EQ in the desired direction. As it effects everything use gingerly but that is all my opinion. Some dudes will cut the low and highs in every patch and will just use the global EQ to do it.
  20. The Pod's PS is 9vAC, 2000mA, I think the One Spot is 9vDC IIRC ~ 1500 - 1700 mA. Could be the problem right there. Try it with the original PS.
  21. TBH with you dude, the HDs do sound better than the X3/XT series but only if you spend some time with them. If you are only now figuring out that the output modes change significantly the sounds then that should tell you all your above comments are based on a lack of knowledge of the unit. The XTs were the kings of fizz until you EQ'd the snots out of them and 99% of the patches DL'd sounded crappy too. If you've had it for years you probably forgot the initial learning curve the unit had. I still use the XTL (add-ons fully loaded) for a grab and go for jams (love the Big Bottom amp) but the HD is better. -Sap
  22. Hahaha!!! When we first got together it was decided to do some OMs to get some stage legs for the new guys. Well we kicked off Running Down a Dream. Nice upbeat tempo until the first chorus where all of a sudden you could feel the dark clouds rushing in and the tempo was nearing double bass territory. Literally had to start sweeping arps through the outro solo, man there were some stink eyes flying around. I loved the "I thought it was supposed to speed up". **insert face palm here** Good - Times!
  23. Its all true too. We were auditioning singers and we had a guy come in who had no clue. I understand memorizing the lyrics will take some time so an ipad or lyric sheets are cool. But not knowing the basic melodies, with a two to three week notice................ "Next!"
