  1. I have a UX2 and an HD and TBH I mostly use the HD nowadays. The UX is cool as you can use Pod Farm and its interface but with the HD (if you get the Model Packs) takes care of the XT/X3 amps that PF would get you anyway. No need to use them together that I can see but as D sez whatever works for you.
  2. Check out Reaper which isn't free but has the best trial mode ever (even does midi drums) and Audacity (which is free and not too shabby either).
  3. Who knows Dude? I was thinking an HD version may come out but now the Helix is here too. I would be surprised if something is not in the works for PF. Though to be honest since the HD landed on my desk, PF is getting rather dusty (or should I say the toneports are).
  4. You cannot record any layers "to" Pod Farm you need to get a DAW or multi-track recorder and use Pod Farm to create your guitar tones which will then be recorded by whatever you then use.
  5. I heard a tasty little rumor that any price drop/increase that occurs will be for purchasers only. Crazy! 8)
  6. I know, I know: FYI - the blue ointment does not help with the Venezuelan beaver flea rash. Don't ask.
  7. Thanks for the info D! I am rehabbing my old RG570 and really just need to shell out for a new edge (ouch!) or a original Floyd (ouch). I had a brass big block on it once and used to get some excellent trem flutters out of it, but the abuse over the years killed the knife edges. Really loved the other soundcloud material too - that is stuff I would listen too any time (which I will do today once the boss leaves) :D
  8. That was awesome my man. Love the composure reminded me a bit of Savatage (sans keys) and the playing was superb (I <3 trem bar flutters btw). With the so-so speakers I have here - I can sense a minor expansion (for lack of a term) to the Helix's sound - need some headphones to listen again later. Thanks for the Share D! B!ll
  9. I ran a quick search and the first thing that crops up is turning all unused inputs to "off" and turning down the XLR pot in the back. If our 'puter' dude ever upgrades our browsers here I could actually paste a link! (arrrrrgghhh!!). But run Line 6 JM4 hiss though google and a bunch of links will pop up - look for the ones pointing to this board. Rock On! Bill
  10. Eeesh my man, I would think that if through the PA its cool the amp should go fine as well with the same settings. Only thing I can think of is a ground loop hum. Try plugging everything into the same outlet or power strip. I don't have a JM4 but the others I have DM4, MM4 DL4 and they can use batteries so the JM4 should use them too (maybe) which might be a way to try to see if its a ground loop hum.

    Path B GONE!

Hmmm is this on all patches? What about the 1/4" outs? Are you running any stereo fx that are hard panned? And when you say you have lost "input" for path B are you saying there is no input for a separate path? Only things I could suggest off the top of my head are double check the input settings, stereo FX and mixer panning.
  12. The public restroom must be the hedonistic bathhouse of days gone by. Boldly going where no HD should go. :)
  13. For a "hard Whiz" I believe there should be some grunting involved. Not going to put that phrase in the search engine... nope!
  14. Ooooh well then you probably already know about the midi reference in the manual which is as far as I go for midi controllers (usually older rack gear or the old beans - not for the HD Bean though). I've never used a sequencer.
  15. If we are talking a technology level jump (i.e. XT->HD->Helix) then I personally would say no like Cruisin said. Having gone through the Pod 1/2->XT/X3->HD I understand the sentimentality over tones but after all was said and done I was glad to have learned the new unit. But if you are talking about a change like the XT->X3 went then I fully understand and would support that backward compatibility. In 5 years who knows where things may be and what can be done.
  16. I am not sure the One Spot puts out enough juice TBH, I think it puts out ~ 1700 mA max and the HD's is ~ 3000 mA. My general rule of paranoia usually defaults to using the factory PS.
  17. Its only my 3rd cup of coffee right now but isn't the inst def file a midi reference file? In the way back machine of my dusty mind I want to say I used one for a brief adventure in keyboards/midi/pc connections.
  18. Alrighty now with that unpleasantness out of the way, may we now commence with the "Your Momma So Fat Jokes?" ;)
  19. Well the dude is entitled to his opinion. But D.I. explained it - the logistics would be a translational nightmare.
  20. Does L6 Monkey see the unit? I would still try another cable if only to be able to say you eliminated that variable.
  21. Download the flash file to your hard drive and choose the update from "file" option in Monkey. That usually fixes the "timed out" issue. Mind you I'm not on Win 10 but when I get the error its what I do. -B
  22. Might have to settle for a Chinese clone called The Helox. :D
  23. When in doubt DL the flash file to your PC then choose "update from file" works 9/10 for that issue. :)
  24. It is easier to list amps "not" using them. They are in almost everything we own for daily life in order to keep them affordable. Besides even "if" the board is domestically made where do you think the components come from? I wouldn't put Chinese pcbs on your list of daily things to worry about. :)
