Yes thanks! I didn't realise the Lows, Highs and Focus settings are absent in Combo PWR AMP mode, my bad :)

I think Line6 thinks it's a "reinvention" because of the possibility to "easily" find the tone for a certain song via internet. That is in a way a pretty cool innovation. Technically there isn't much revolutionary going on, it;s just the way the technologies are implemented and integrated. Although I am pretty disappointed they didn't deliver something cool for my purposes, I don't fail to see that they came up with something cool. Stupid they didn't have an Android app ready yet. I am still pretty curious what else is coming our way. In the meantime I'm very happy with my POD HD500 + DT-25

Where did you get the information that those settings don't work through L6-Link? I'm not saying you're wrong, in fact it seems to me you are correct. I'm just wondering where you found that info. I find it a bit strange that the manual doesn't say anything toward that end. It does say the mode settings affects the signal going through L6-Link and since the other parameters are on the same page I assumed they would too. I am connecting through L6-Link, by the way
-
Like I said, I tried them but didn't really hear much difference. For instance: Lows from -50 to flat didn't do much as far as I could hear. I'm wondering what your experience is with these settings.
-
I used Samplitude for a long time. Every now and then I would try some others but allways ended up staying with Samplitude. The only thing i really didn't like about it was the way it handles the inputs and outputs. I was often getting unexpected results and it didn't seem consistent somehow. Now I have switched to Reaper which I really like a lot. The interface isn't as fancy all the time but I got used to it. No inconsistencies and it does exactly what I expect it to! I also liked Sonor but still came back to Samplitude from that one.

On the Anderton's review the Line6 guy says it's coming soon.
-
Ok, I think you misunderstood. I'm talking about the Lows, Highs and Focus settings on the Output page in System Settings (where you can set the POD to Studio/direct, Combo Front etc.)
-
I tried turning the lows from -50 to flat while connected to my Dt25 but I can't say I heard much happening. The same happened with the highs. I could hear some difference when changing the focus but it was very little, much less than I would expect. Has anybody ever fiddled with these setting? What are your experiences.?
-
I agree totally
-
It's alternating current, there is no polarity. The 3rd prong, when present is for earth. It would have been nice if the POD was earthed, but it isn't
-
Has anyone here actually watched the Anderton's review? The Guy clearly states that an Android version of the app is on it's way. Yes, I agree Line 6 should have had it ready at launch but hey that's the way thing go sometimes. It probably wasn't ready in time for the NAMM show, probably due to the time it takes programming around all the bugs in Android (no I'm defenitly not an Apple fan, wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole). Just stop fussing about it and wait for the Android app, it's coming.

Well, the DT-25 performed very nicely tonight. The JJ's sound great! A bit clearer and an little bit more definition than the Electro Harmonix. My presets needed a bit of tweaking because of it but I was very content in the end B) of course it could also be just because they are new. I don't know really. T really hear the difference you would need two DT-25 amps with different tubes in them.
-
I changed tube today and all is well :) I started with measuring the bias on the old ones and Tube 2 was on 7,6 mV! So, I took it out and found the following: The glass of the tube is actually melted B) Anyway, I still had some barely used JJ's and decides to give them a try. I'm rehearsing tonight and can't wait to hear what they sound like! I'll keep you posted. P.s. Apparently I can't have the picture in the text without it also showing up under "attached thumbnails". A bit annoying <_<

The DT-25 Works fine fore larger stages as well. Everything gets miked and It's loud enough for on stage monitoring. In my experience anyway.

I'll keep you posted, thanks!

I don't know really. I put new ones in somewhere at the beginning of 2013 i think. We try to practice once a week, so I guess we played about 35 tot 40 times for 4 hours. That would be 140 - 160 hours. The I play a bit at home so I guess 200 hours would be a realistic guess.

Topology Switch With/without Podhd Connected
talwilkins replied to aggravation's topic in DT50 / DT25
Great! I see now. There are two channels (A and B ). Each channel can be one of four "programs" consisting of any combination of the parameters. Wonderful! :) Thanks for clearing this up. -
Topology Switch With/without Podhd Connected

That is indeed the case, as far as I understand. Don't forget that without the POD the DT is Just a "simple" Two channel amp. -
The hum gets worse in Class A.

Topology Switch With/without Podhd Connected
talwilkins replied to aggravation's topic in DT50 / DT25
If you ask me the negative feedback is changed by relay switching, with or without connected PODHD. The difference is that without the POD, the DT also changes Pre amp modelling. With the POD connected the pre amp is comming from the POD and stays as is. -
Thanks guys! I don't know if there is a difference between A and AB. I'll check it out and keep you posted. I will also check the tubes. I have recently had a blown fuse so there may be something with the tubes indeed.

My DT-25 suddenly started humming loudly in triode mode. The penthode mode is still as quiet as ever. Nothing really influences the hum. Even if I turn the master down completely it hums just the same. What could be causing this?
-
I use some rubber band and the cap of some lip balm :D The rubber band is there to make it a tight fit for the cap so it will stay there. It's kind of stupid but it works great! When I pull the cap off I can still use the looper.
-
1. This is also one reason I use one signal path and put everything in it. That way the mixer comes last and I can use it to boost the signal without the danger of clipping something coming after it. 2. When you use a DAW meter through USB I presume the driver should not have th +18db checked and the "record send level" at full?

I have no gaps with the G5 when switching effects on or off. Only when changing presets, which I never do since I can have 8 effects in one preset plus the tube boost and an effect under the expression pedal. That adds up to ten additional effects. Quite enough :) I actually only use 4 plus an EQ which has become the oh so missing global EQ B)
