  1. In my past I managed to achieve a really nice distorted tone with the POD Screamer. Recently I tried to recreate that tone with real pedals and noticed that it sounded nothing like that which shouldn't be a suprise because the Pod-Screamer has Bass and Treble controls which the real Tube Screamer doesn't have. So what exactly is the real model of the POD-Screamer? The only thing I found with Bass and Treble controls is the ''Boss ODB-3 Bass OverDrive'', ''Ibanez TSB9'' and a Behringer-Copy of the Boss. I wouldn't mind buying one of these pedals but I don't really know if they do the same as the POD-Screamer since they're all bass pedals. Any experiences or suggestions (except buying and trying :D) ?
  2. Hey guys, Today we have a comparison and sound test to see just how close the Helix technology can get to the real thing. We are comparing the Ibanez TS 808 Tube Screamer to the Line 6 Scream 808 pedal model. Spoiler, it sounds pretty indistinguishable. I recorded a couple riffs, first with the Ibanez TS808 Tube Screamer and then with the Line 6 Scream 808 model inside of Helix or in this case, the HX Stomp. The riffs are taken from my latest single, NAHR-SU-SIZ-EM, which can be found on Spotify, Apple Music, Bandcamp, and everywhere music is sold or streamed.

  4. Last week on Tuesday I found out we'd be playing Joy to the World on the weekend (which ended up turning out really well). So to practice and try out a few different amps and tones, I decided to record the song in Mixcraft and have my 10 year old daughter sing lead, and since my brother is staying with us while in town for Christmas, I asked him to sing harmony. Thanks to Palico for the suggestion to use the Marshall Super Lead with a T-75 cab, as it turned out to be a perfect combo for the tone I was looking for. The band had fun playing it this weekend, and I had fun recording it at home with my daughter and brother, so I thought I'd share: http://www.mediafire.com/listen/bt7nsgfbpk10l6k/JoyToTheWorld+-+Brian-Chloe-Tracy.mp3 This is my favorite tone so far that I've been able to get with the Marshall models on the HD500X. It's just the amp using cranked mids with a screamer in front of it and plate reverb at 30%. The right channel guitar does have analog chorus added, but that's it. I also used the bass octaver and the flip top model for the bass part.
  5. Hi. I need some help. I've been using podFarm for a while and seen some great results for metalcore music. Recently I purchased an ibanez ts808 tube screamer and removed my tube screamer simulation from my podFarm tone to see if it gave the guitar a more realistic sound. I was happy with the result. I am now looking to buy an amp head So now I have two questions which I need help on. Can I have a chain of real tube screamer -> real amp head -> pod, and remove the amp head from my pod farm tone to give the guitar an even more realistic sound, as the only thing simulated would be the speaker cabinet? If I can do this can someone explain as simply as possible the way to do it, as I am a noob. My second question is what is the cali diamond plate amp head meant to be like in real life amp heads, I have £1000 to spend and want like a real version of the cali diamond plate, any suggestions? Thanks
