  1. I was using expression pedal 2 and it was clashing with the volume pedal. I changed to expression pedal one for whammy and expression pedal 2 for Volume and all works as it should

  2. This may or may not work for you, but thought I'd mention it. I perform solo (guitar/vocal) and have to switch things easily on the fly, so prefer to use MIDI to change Helix presets for songs (using one preset per song). The app SetListMaker can run on iPhone or Android, and will send any MIDI (such as Helix preset change) when you select a song from your song list (with a simple tap). If you keep your Helix in Snapshot mode, then you can use MIDI to select any song/preset, and use Helix buttons to change Snapshots.

  3. Hello everyone, Thought I would share a video I did on getting the Van Halen 1 album tone. I used just the Helix with no IR's and no other processing. Download the tone here: https://line6.com/customtone/tone/3254199/ Enjoy!

  4. Make sure you don't have the volume pedal and the Whammy assigned to the same EXP pedal, and make sure they are BOTH assigned to the toe switch, or whatever switch you are using to turn on/off the whammy.

  5. Whichever matches your speakers. Not strictly required to match, but I'd imagine the manufacturer tunes it to work well with their speakers. You want to make sure you aren't missing any frequencies. My setup is all Yamaha, HS50m and HS10 or something like that, but there are other good options.

  7. Have been playing with a new 89F since Christmas and used it for first rehearsal yesterday. Goes into an H&K Grandmeister head and cab. No issues so far and I like it very much, especially the neck. Band members thought it was a better sound than my previous guitar which goes to show a $4K PRS doesn't necessarily make the sound you want for a live band - we play fairly standard rock and pop covers. I bought it for gigging not recording and so far the ability to switch tunings and use different sounds including acoustics has made a big difference to several of the songs and saved messing about mid-gig with capos and re-tuning. I added a Tremolo-No and set it to dive only to prevent strings going out of tune if 1 should break during a gig - took about 30 mins to do. Generally I find posts on forums are from the hopefully relatively few people who are having problems rather than the many who are more than happy - which can give a negative impression of any product. So far I find it is a great guitar, actually better than I expected, even just on the mag pups which sound almost identical to the Lester models. Will probably post a more extensive review after a few more weeks and a couple of gigs.

  8. I suspect that the 6 block limit is mostly a UI choice, due to the size of the screen, to keep on-device editing as streamlined as possible. That being said, I think there are things they could have done to mitigate this without requiring a bigger screen, or smaller UI elements. For example: 1. Allowing Send/Return to occupy the spaces between blocks, much like if you have a split path. 2. Allow additional blocks on path B.

  9. This whole post was a very good explanation by codamedia on the approach. I just wanted to add that this is the way I did it when I originally set up my HD500X. The only difference was my amp was a Fender Twin '65 R. I had to use the Studio EQ at the front with a gain level of +12 to match them up with the Master 'all the way to 11!' So, if you've got the master all the way up and you don't hit the right level, this is another option. Follow codamedia's advice on this one....it's spot-on the best approach to this for the way you're using it.

  10. If you have ANY line 6 software opened when you are trying to use the Updater it won't work. You have to close everything else out first and then run the Updater.....works every time!

  11. I use a Focusrite 18i20 USB into a 7th gen i7 HP laptop with 16gb, Sonar Platinum DAW. Round Trip Latency is 13.1ms, 44.1/128. Just for kicks I switched to the Helix driver. RT Latency went to 22.8ms.
