  1. Hi all, just bought a Fender Hotrod Deluxe IV 40watt, I Hooked up my HX Stomp in 4 cable method and it sounds great, but I lost the ability to use all the setting on my Amp and also cannot change channels via foot pedal because of this. The stomp controls the volume…. Is there a setting that I need to change on the HX Stomp so that I can use the controls on my Amp? Thanks for any assistance….

  2. Would it be nice that you can store your favorite global EQ setting with a title in the global settings? So you can choose depending on the acoustic response of the room or space you're playing in. Back for a gig in that bar again? Just recall your global of the previous gig and you're good. Just enjoy playing without thinking 'why does my sound suck today? what should i do after this song? ' . This idea is mentioned multiple times on FB: Helix Family Group. After one of us posted that idea again on FB, i think it's time to release this idea in a future update. I don't think it's hard to program that option. in your preset, just push the bypass button to engage the global EQ, like it is now. After that a screen option pops up to dial or confirm your favorite global EQ.

  3. I think it really comes down to one thing which has already been alluded to. Most of us that go for the full Helix floor or LT do so because it's the centerpiece of our rig. This was never an addition to an existing rig, it was a complete overhaul for many of us. And that's what we wanted. But that's because we wanted and/or needed something like that to address the wide range of things we wanted it to solve for us over the long term. If that's not in your game plan it's probably not right for you.

  4. You mean, amp packs with the vintage amps ? No, unfortunately the amp packs didn't sell well enough to justify the effort. But I'm working on a djent pack, for which the demand is much bigger

  5. Understood... which is why I included this in my post.... I hope the Sweetwater solution works out for you so you can enjoy a trouble free LT.

  6. Kilrahi, I agree with you. I am a child of Nirvana, 4 pedals and an amp! I play rock music and have never envisioned needing to create an 8 block clean tone. I see the Stomp as an amp switcher for me. Clean Fender Twin, Bassman, JCM 800, 5150, etc. I do get inspired by the Helix though with what I could create. The Dustin Kensrue videos are cool with he does for Thrice.

  8. You need to understand the concepts of "gain staging" Auto trim will monitor incoming signals and set them to the ideal input gain for the channel - not too hot so it distorts and not too low. That is all it does. You mic is on a channel and that has a gain knob that controls the signal level going into the main mix The main mix is feed to the PA amplifier and that signal level is controlled by the big knob on the right of the M20d The PA amplifier has a volume knob that controls the overall volume Each of these is a gain stage and has to be set correctly; if you have 16 channels of input all set to 0db and all of them have a full level signal then you will overload the main mix. You need to mix the signals together by balancing the channel volumes (and eq) So turn down the channel gain and/or big knob and/or PA volume until it is not too loud and feeding back. There is also a feedback suppressor on the mic input channels and you can use that if your mic position is such that you are getting feedback at lower volumes - it will notch filter at frequencies that are susceptible to feeding back in the current session (the settings are forgotten when you switch off)

  9. Apologies if this has been discussed before, but I did a search and I couldn't find it. Only a few weeks in with the Helix and up to now I've been running with good quality studio headphones. The tones have been spot on and I've been having a blast. Today I finally went from the XLR outs to my Adam A7 studio monitors, and the sound was AWFUL. There is a happy ending to the story however, and I want to share it here so that others don't make the mistake I made. Experienced users will go DUH, obviously. This post is not to help you guys, but the D'OH guys like me. My A7s expect line level and the XLRs were set to mic level in the Global settings. Changed it over to line and now my monitors are giving me loveliness again. Bliss.

  11. I'm using 3sigma Gibs Bird Electric 4c IR (part of the Gibs Bird pack). I've never tried to build such a patch using a humbucker and it only sounds good on my Strat on the neck pick up. The only thing I really do is use some hi and low cuts on the actual IR ... run it through the studio tube pre amp model and an EQ to cut 2db at around 250hz. you can add some delay and reverb as needed ... it sounds great ... using my guitar through my speakers, some of the settings I use might need to be adjusted for your guitar through your speakers. I find I need to boost the volume in several different places to get it to the same level as my electric guitar patches but there are lots of ways to do that.
