  1. I can also confirm that this must be a "bug". Thanks for taking the time to formally report. I'll be watching this closely.
  2. I have seen where someone does a "Copy/Paste" of one edited bank to a "Blank Bank" thinking that they were copying the edited one to the new one. But, since the edited one was not saved it simply created a new Blank bank and I believe it does show the new name (not sure and I am not at my unit. Did you ever see the other banks to see if the data was there? As you say: Lesson learned. ALWAY save a patch you are editing an call it "Scratch XXXXX until you are finished and then give it the actual name. Saving multiple times only takes a few seconds and reconstruction can take a long time! Sorry this happened to you, but it seems to be some type of "user err" and not a "known issue" other than "user error" in the Save/Copy/Paste or save to disk/ import process. Can you duplicate this? If so, create a service ticket and it will get fixed, If not, then the answer is some type of user error. Hope you can get it sorted out, regards, Bo
  3. HP i7, 64 bit, Windows 7 Home SP1, VST3 ,Reaper 5.4 all OK here. Also Sonar XIII OK. Bo
  4. No . . . not the way it is suppose to be. The name field as loaded in the IR's Tab should show in the IR's Block and in the IR's Edit section next to the words 1012 or 2024. The Ir's Slot number will show at the right side of the IR's "loaded" slider. You can reference the Ir that way but NOT how it is suppose to be, based on how the Helix Floor and Helix Editor are designed. I'm sure this is an oversite. I created a service ticket and will let you know the responce. Since it is the weeked it will most likely take 5 or 6 days. Thanks for the responce . . .. anyone else haveing this issue? Bo
  5. Not seeing any names for the IRs in either the IR Blocks or the Edit area, Only the IR number Slot. Anyone else?
  6. Helix Native:: Low and behold I can not see any IR names on the Icons or in the edit area on the right hand side. The only clue is the IR slot number. Now I do use the IR numbering system i.e. 001, 002, 003 . . . . not sure if that has an effect. Anyone else not seeing the IR names?
  7. Loaded Native this AM on Windows 7 64 using Latest Reaper 64 and all is VERY GOOD. ONLY use VST3. For those confused on Authorization there are two boxes - the top to "Buy" and the bottom to 'Try Trial Version". If you have already purchased just click the "Trial Version Box" and the top button will change to "Authorize". Follow the "bouncing ball" and all should load. Make SURE if you are taking advantage of any discounts that your other Line6 items are Registered. Just using the Line6Updater DOES NOT register your products. Now . . . . back to my new toy!
  8. Nice post Zooey. Interesting that kit3 uses QT as a front end. Just now getting into that. If I understand you correctly, the issue ONLY arises if you make changes to the IR files "outside" of the Helix. In other words, if you simply export files, do an update, and import them back there is no issue. However; if you make changes to the file data OR change the file order then the issues you mention will become problematic - right? As long as you make changes on the Helix, save on the Helix and then export (perhaps under a different folder name then the "original folder name"); and then import from one of those files, things will line up and have the correct info? Thanks again for the heads up as I never really looked at what was going on. . . . . too busy trying to learn how to play guitar after 40+ years of trying!! lOL Bo
  9. OK here you go - straight from the manual System Requirements To follow are the requirements to install and use Helix Native on your DAW computer system. Note that Helix Native is a 64-bit plug-in and, therefore, requires that your host DAW application supports 64-bit plug-ins. Mac Computers: • Mac OS X 10.10 and 10.11 & macOS 10.12 • 64-bit AAX Native, Audio Units (AU), VST3 or VST2 host DAW software • Supported sample rates: 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz, 88.2 kHz, 96 kHz Windows Computers: • Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, & Windows 10 (64-bit only) • 64-bit AAX Native, VST3 or VST2 host DAW software • Supported sample rates: 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88.2kHz, 96kHz Minimum Hardware Requirements • Dual-Core 2.0GHz processor or faster • 4GB of RAM • 100MB of free disk space • Internet connection required for license authorization (and for trial version) Bo
  10. EDIT:::: See my second post for answer!!!! Go to the line6 web site - download the user manual and at the end it gives you the required specs for Apple and Windows. I don't know Apple but it sounds like you may need to upgrade. For windows it's Windows 7. Bo
  11. Hello, with over 30 years using MIDI I have not run across the term "DIM" - so I am assuming that is a RC-505 term. If what you are trying to do is control this unit from some of the footswitches on the Helix you my wish to go to CustomTone site and download my patch MIDI CONTROL 1. There are extensive notes describing how to use the Helix to control a DAW Record, Start, Stop, Pause and Rewind using the Helix. It should be very similar, if not exact, in controlling your looper. Your RC-505 manual should have a MIDI Spec Sheet with the commands to do what you want and if so, just change my commands to those items. Then again . . . . . .. UUUU ... What Phil_m said! Good luck, Bo Baker

    Coming soon...

I must say that it has been a treat to follow all the posts on this topic. I have to give Line6 a high 5 for having the B_lls to post a projected release date on the Native software. Having been involved in several software development projects, I know what it takes to bring a program like this to market! All I learned about "release dates" can be traced back to a little 7 year old girl and an 8 year old boy. The story goes like this . . . . . A little 8 year old boy ran up to the sweet 7 year old smoking girl and whispered into her ear . . . " I want , what I want, when I want it!" . . . .. The little girl proceeded to punch him directly in the nose, and whispered into his ear . . . . . "You'll get, what I got, when I get it!" 'nuff said .. . . this one's for you DI!!! Bo

  15. Yes - just remember that the location will effect the outcome of the sound i.e. pre-amp or post-amp. Also, note that the "mix" should be set to 100% if you want the effect(s) to be at full volume. And . . . think about putting the Snd/Return Block in Parallel with the rest of the tone path. i.e. Path A1 for most effects but the ME80 in Path A2 . Just some thoughts. There is no "right" way - just the right way for you! Blsssings, Bo
  16. 1. So. . . . have you made sure that everything is set to Send and Receive on the same MIDI channel? If so, the Thru setting should just be passing the System Common messages on to the Boss. See #3 for a better alternative. 2. Have you tried connecting the PC directly to the Boss DR-3 to make sure that it is set up to receive these messages? If it works, then it's something in the Helix. If it does not work then there is part of the problem. 3. Since you are trying this as a "Pass Thru" I am assuming that you are sending messages to both the Helix as Program messages and the DR-3 as pass thru System Common messages from your PC. So try setting the PC up to use channel 1 for the Helix Send/Receive and channel 2 (or any other channel) to Send/Receive for the DR-3. Pass thru would require an "original MIDI message from a source other than the Helix (thus a Pass Thru) into the Helix and out the "thru" of the Helix into the DR-3. The fact that Helix can not send System Command messages was the reason I mentioned the MIDI Solutions products in my first post. That may be your only "solution". Good luck, "Bo"
  17. I don't have this unit but looking at the manual https://static.roland.com/assets/media/pdf/DR-3_OM.pdf the MIDI specification sheet (at the back) indicates that it will send <Select-Hex F3>; <Start-Hex FA>; and < Stop-Hex FC> along with several others. This is a System Control Message and not a Control Change Message. The format would be to send a two byte Control Message with the first byte a F3 and the second in the range of 0 to 99. Keep in mind that everything in MIDI code starts at "0". So "0" = 1, 1 = 2, 2 = 3 and so on; so when you look at the song select on the BR-3, if you chose 5 as the selection you are actually choosing song 6. If you need to start the song after selecting it,(( instead of doing it manually on the BR-3)) you will need to send a second message which the Helix will (should) provide as a MMC (Midi Machine Control). You should be able to just select the options of "type MMC and 'Start'. by assigning this to any of the Stomp Buttons. Same thing for the "Stop" command. Worst case - you can send a MMC command with FA to Start the song and a MMC command of FC to stop it. I will edit this message with a reference to a MIDI controller when I can locate the item that my help you now or in the future.. Additionally, you can download my "Custom Tone" called MIDICONTROL1 in custom tone. Read the notes included in the description and that, along with looking at the settings I used, should get you started. Let me know if you need additional help. Good luck - Gary "Bo" Baker Item of interest:: MIDI Solutions . . . . https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MIDIFC1
  18. If you have not found a solution yet get this: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MIDIevent It will do a lot of MIDI things and is dirt cheep! Blessings, Bo
  19. When you "HIT!" a MIDI brick wall - try finding a solution here http://www.midisolutions.com/ They are great to work with and can come up with a product that can help you get around most "interface" issues. Sounds like perhaps a "re-direct" product might work between the Helix and your amp. This takes a given MIDI message and changes it as it goes through the "box". Good luck, Bo Baker
  20. Check out my patch on Custom Tone by doing a search on this name: "MIDI CONTROL1". It has a 5 star rating and is designed for the REAPER DAW but should work for your purpose in just about any major DAW. Let me know if you need help. While the Custom tone has a few patches in the A1 channel you can delete those and use your own. Be sure and read ALL the instructions in the patch description to set it up correctly. Basically, you are sending MMC (Midi Machine Control) messages NOT CC# messages. If you are not trying to trigger "record" on a DAW you should be good to go. Good Luck Bo ::::GBBAKER on Custom Tone
  21. New info from DI today on this topic. May not be the Total solution but more info to digest. Posted Today,6/1/2017 09:05 AM From: Digial_Igloo trossitrumpet, on 02 Jun 2017 - 11:50 AM, said: I have been looking into a FCB1010 as well for the same function. I currently have the guitarist of the band on his own path with the Helix at his feet, while I am a little bit away running my trumpet mic through effects on the Helix on the second path as well. I'd like to be able to switch my different effects remotely without having to walk all the way over to do so. I have read that there are mod chips for the FCB1010 to allow for something called "stompbox mode". Maybe this is a solution? Has anyone had any experience with this? Or maybe with the new MIDI features of the latest firmware update can we now bypass blocks through MIDI? Yes. Since my post above, we've added per-block bypass via MIDI: Press MENU and then Knob 1 (Bypass Assign). Turn Knob 4 (MIDI In) to choose the desired CC. Values of 0-63 turn the block off and values of 64-127 turn the block on. In lieu of step 2, you can also Learn incoming MIDI CCs. Just press Knob 6 (Learn) and send Helix the desired MIDI CC. Note that some CCs are reserved for global functions and cannot be selected or learned.
  22. I think your process is right but it is more a "timing issue". Some MIDI devices can not take a "fast" streaming of serial data. It needs to "breathe" between CC#. If you can do it with two button pushes that will most likely be the only way to get it to work with your current receive devise. You might try two snapshots each with a CC# command. Yea, two button pushes but at least you still have all your foot switches to utilize. Good luck, Bo
  23. Yes, I am on Windows 7 and I do believe it is a Win 7 64 issue. Bo
  24. HI, this has been the same for me since day one . . . . . it has never been a problem. EVERYTHING works fine (Audio/Midi/Editor) so not to worry. Others have seen the same issue . . . but others have not?? I do recommend that you get a better quality USB cord as the original that comes with the HELIX is known to "drop out" on some systems ( like mine!). Good luck . . . . enjoy! Bo Baker
