The Variax Preset list is named Variax, so I think this is not what you are looking for. Best way to do what you want, is save the setlist of the new presets (on edit save setlist), put your bundle back (simple drag and drop) and after put the new setlist to replace another. PS, if you load a bundle while pod is connected, immediately this bundle is loaded to your pod (but not saved)

Check on the sound card panel (inside your recording program) if the +18db is on, resulting to clipping. If not, check your mixer volume, maybe the effect that is after is clipping your signal. If not, maybe some effects before the amp are clipping your signal. Check for gain. Also on the deep edit parameter check the master knob, reduce if required. Finally, make sure your input1 is guitar and input 2 variax. Come back with results.

Something that can help tame your tone is a mid focus EQ with HP Freq to 20#-23% HP Q to 0% and LP Freq to 93%-94% LP Q to 0% and gain 0 for no added volume. This should be placed after the mixer, at any amp. Results will be very nice.

Better sound quality but requires a hell of learning curve to achieve a great sound out of it... You will be a sound engineer kind of procces.

Can I run pod HD for effects only to the Axe Fx?

True. Custom tone is a mess over a year and now became even worse.

It is easy Phil. Since you heard it more than us (I believe you was a beta) you can at least please tell us how close is to the sound of pod HD? Let's say that the pod HD was 80% better than the X3, the Helix is ? to HD.

The way I am using it is for any configuration. It smooth it for the mix.

Very good idea. This is what stopping me also from buying Helix. What I heard up to now is a pod HD. Put them side by side and we will see what is were..

Lm or LM, nevermind which, it is on 2nd and 3rd page of Helix FAQ. There are pre models, but what I read is that it will not provide the same with the HD to DT functionality.

Don't.. It is answered already, it is better to connect with LM than DT with Helix.

Then think about it ...It is almost ready to go on production, already cost set, probably already units are ready, and you want to redesign to do what you want to do, by stating that you use 3-4 effects. Indeed. But I trust my ears, and they sound very similar. Will wait an A/B tone test between a HD and a Helix.
