    Tube amps Gone?

After getting kemper 2 years ago I sold all my amps because I couldn't tell the difference between the profiles I made and the mic'd signal from my amps, which is all I ever hear anyway because I'm on IEMs. Then I discovered mbritt and got a nice tone upgrade. That's right, my tone with kemper was better than the mic'd up tone from my own tube amps. Then I started getting tired of pedals so I got a Helix. Same thing.
  3. Recently I've been using the Litigator for everything except heavy stuff. Really versatile and a TS in front is great for leads.

    wow hahah just wow

If they actually ran the modelers direct like they're supposed to be used, instead of mic'ing up the FRFR (WTF?) then the differences would be much more noticeable.

    High Cut Settings

Parametric EQ has a high cut and low cut. There is also a simple high cut and low cut eq block, as well as a global EQ you can turn on. high cut range: 1k to 20k no Q on the high cut but there is Q on the low med and high sections yes you can control literally any parameter with expression pedals for a smooth sweep or stomps if you just need to toggle between two values instantly. In the case of the expression pedal you can also easily set the minimum and maximum values for the range of the sweep.
  6. I have never had anyone react to my digital stuff like that. Every single time they are blown away, even if they are pretty serious gear snobs. Are you sure your tones are good? It would be a good idea to bring your own monitor. A DBR10 is only $400 and the upgraded DXR12 is only a little more. Either way, I'd add to this list and shoot it back to him. The guy is clueless. Yes, all of that is possible, very simple with Helix.

A/B box for two wireless into Helix Input

You shouldn't have any problems using the AUX input for a low impedance signal from a wireless unit.

Harsh, or disappear? How much high-cut is too much?

  12. I run all of my effects into the front of two amps in the helix as well. I'm just using the controls on the split block itself to hard pan, same on the merge block. I recorded a few reverbs yesterday with this preset and they sound stereo to me, particularly when I switch to the boss RV6 (0:28) the stereo image is extra obvious. Am I doing something wrong? I don't really understand the difference between what I'm doing and what you recommended. I'd really appreciate if you could take a look at my split/merge block settings. How does the helix work??

"amp in the room" is really just "guitar cab in the room" so if you wanted to use a modeler and get the amp in the room thing you'd need to disable the modeler's cab modeling, and run it into a neutral power amp and guitar cab of your choice.
  14. The problem you're going to face is that you're used to hearing the cabinet in the room with you. When you use an FRFR, monitors, or headphones, you're taking the signal that would come from a mic on a cab, and making it louder. Not the same sound or feel as a cab sitting behind you blowing on your legs.

    Help me keep my helix

Disable the cab modeling and run it into a power amp and cab. Only way to get the cab in the room feeling is with a cab. Everything else is just making a mic'd signal loud.
