  1. I see, so Helix can control PC+ through AES, but its not utlizing actual MIDI messages. I suppose another MIDI cable for now, then!
  2. I have successfully controlled my PC212+ via MIDI cable from my MIDI keyboard (master volume, speaker mode, speaker model, etc). I want to plug my MIDI keyboard into my Helix, and then still control my PC212+ which is connected to my Helix via AES/L6 Link. "MIDI Thru" is set to "On", but the control is not working. Does "MIDI Thru" only relay messages through MIDI cable? Is there any way to relay MIDI messages through AES/L6 Link?
  3. I see you one OCD spreadsheet, and raise you bored at work searchability improvements. Helix 2.90 Amp Cabs Effects List.xlsx
  4. https://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html
  5. You bring HX Edit to a gig? Anyway at a show isn't the sound guy looking at meters on the board (as well as using his ear?)
  6. The "IMPORTANT!" note for Output meters is hilarious. Basically: "we didn't really want to give you this feature, but you wouldn't shut up about it, so here it is, but you really shouldn't use it anyway. Please leave us alone."
  7. Woot woot! It's here! P.S. You're hilarious DI.
  8. I have my old PodXT Live backup file saved, but the unit no longer functions. If I want to play with some of my old sounds, and I purchase POD Farm, can it load patches from the backup file?
  9. No, but they have different impedance levels... I'm not an expert at the sound tech stuff but read the manual and make sure that you gain stage everything properly.
  10. Why not plug your other instruments into the other inputs, i.e. Aux, Return(s)? Other than that, your question is regarding hardware that does exist but would be better directed towards a sales rep at whatever music store you frequent (p.s. if I understand your use case correctly, one solution could be a mixer with MIDI input, where you would program it to solo the channel indicated by your controller).
  11. For free software, I am not familiar with the free version of Cubase, but I sometimes use Audacity for quick stuff. Usually I use Cubase essentials which is $99. I am thinking of trying out Reaper since it is suppose to be pretty good and full version is $60. For audio interface, I use a FocusRite Scarlett 2i4, inexpensive and works nice.
  12. I haven't done back-to-back listening comparisons but I would think that the PC+ direct out would be exactly the same as the Helix direct out... the only "improvement" would be that by outsourcing cabinet modeling to the PC+, you free up an additional block for use on the Helix.
  13. When is the last time you logged into it? Are you sure you are using the correct password? Have you tried resetting your password? https://line6.com/account/forgot.html
  14. I don't know how to solve your problem.... but hold ALT key when you take a screenshot and it will capture just the active window :)
  15. Just play around with it. Best advice for tone search I've found, especially when it comes to modelling: "if it sounds good, it is good". Explore the details, but don't get hung up on them.
  16. In this thread we are discussing the same thing... the guy said he found some free software that claims to allow online rehearsal... maybe with some fancy software latency could be minimized to playable levels, I don't know. I intend to investigate it later. The software is call Jamulus: http://llcon.sourceforge.net/ If you try it, let me know how it works for you.
  17. I have Gearbox running on Windows 10 in compatibility mode for Windows 7.
  18. I did re-flash the latest firmware, which I believe is the equivalent to a factory reset? Hmm... I will probably try this, if I do I'll let you know how it goes.
  19. Cool, reviews seem promising, let me know how it goes!
  20. The following buttons on my PodXT Live stopped working: Save, Edit, Comp, Amp, Gate, EQ, Output Mode / System. All other buttons and knobs work fine. LCD display works fine. As far as I can tell, nothing is loose inside. I did open a ticket, but the L6 rep is unable to help me troubleshoot this deep in the hardware... I figured I'd give it a shot here on the forum. Anyone have any thoughts as to what could make these buttons stop working? I figure they are all connected via a single path, something in the path went bad, just don't know what it is.
