  1. Woot woot! It's here! P.S. You're hilarious DI.
  2. I have my old PodXT Live backup file saved, but the unit no longer functions. If I want to play with some of my old sounds, and I purchase POD Farm, can it load patches from the backup file?
  3. No, but they have different impedance levels... I'm not an expert at the sound tech stuff but read the manual and make sure that you gain stage everything properly.
  4. Why not plug your other instruments into the other inputs, i.e. Aux, Return(s)? Other than that, your question is regarding hardware that does exist but would be better directed towards a sales rep at whatever music store you frequent (p.s. if I understand your use case correctly, one solution could be a mixer with MIDI input, where you would program it to solo the channel indicated by your controller).
  5. For free software, I am not familiar with the free version of Cubase, but I sometimes use Audacity for quick stuff. Usually I use Cubase essentials which is $99. I am thinking of trying out Reaper since it is suppose to be pretty good and full version is $60. For audio interface, I use a FocusRite Scarlett 2i4, inexpensive and works nice.
  6. I haven't done back-to-back listening comparisons but I would think that the PC+ direct out would be exactly the same as the Helix direct out... the only "improvement" would be that by outsourcing cabinet modeling to the PC+, you free up an additional block for use on the Helix.
  7. When is the last time you logged into it? Are you sure you are using the correct password? Have you tried resetting your password? https://line6.com/account/forgot.html
  8. I don't know how to solve your problem.... but hold ALT key when you take a screenshot and it will capture just the active window :)
  9. Just play around with it. Best advice for tone search I've found, especially when it comes to modelling: "if it sounds good, it is good". Explore the details, but don't get hung up on them.
  10. In this thread we are discussing the same thing... the guy said he found some free software that claims to allow online rehearsal... maybe with some fancy software latency could be minimized to playable levels, I don't know. I intend to investigate it later. The software is call Jamulus: http://llcon.sourceforge.net/ If you try it, let me know how it works for you.
  11. I have Gearbox running on Windows 10 in compatibility mode for Windows 7.
  12. I did re-flash the latest firmware, which I believe is the equivalent to a factory reset? Hmm... I will probably try this, if I do I'll let you know how it goes.
  13. Cool, reviews seem promising, let me know how it goes!
  14. The following buttons on my PodXT Live stopped working: Save, Edit, Comp, Amp, Gate, EQ, Output Mode / System. All other buttons and knobs work fine. LCD display works fine. As far as I can tell, nothing is loose inside. I did open a ticket, but the L6 rep is unable to help me troubleshoot this deep in the hardware... I figured I'd give it a shot here on the forum. Anyone have any thoughts as to what could make these buttons stop working? I figure they are all connected via a single path, something in the path went bad, just don't know what it is.
  15. Also could you not double post, general forum etiquette, thx.

    Helix 2.9

I want to stop reading this thread, but I can't look away...
  17. It is not physically possible. The latency is due to IP traffic, not the helix. The best you can do is collaborate on recordings by putting your project in the cloud, but you could only lay tracks one at a time, not together.
  18. I have a feeling this is going to be the answer... honestly a compact mixer is so handy in so many situations, everyone should have one and I don't blame L6 or any other company for not including one in every single piece of gear.
  19. Make sure you disable Zoom's audio settings for eliminating background noise or changing the volume... you don't want it touching your input signal at all.
  20. Then, you'll need to connect your PC+ outputs into a mixer (or headphones amp), then connect headphones into that.
  21. Hmm... I think I get it now... so the headphones knob controls both your guitar volume and the USB volume from your DAW, and you want to control them both separately. I've never tried this before. I quickly glanced through the manual, it doesn't seem to cover this issue. I will tinker when I get home, unless someone else answers first.
