  1. So I have a jam man, hadnt used it with helix, figured just assign it to a send, but doesnt seem to be getting any signal working. Any one?? Thanks!
  2. So got a helix, letting my singer/bass player use my X3. Can I use his vocal mic going xlr out, and path 2 with the bass going 1/4" to bass amp at same time? Dont remeber the output capabilitiea of the x3.. thanks!
  3. Its not the interface at all. I set my altos at 12 oclock. Just had the interface set up for leveling. Tmrw I will try each one to the altos, with nothing going to mixer at all. Just seems to be noise using 1/4s instead if xlr to altos. And its alot of noise, very noticable?
  4. So was working on leveling some patches today, using both xlr to daw, and 1/4 to my two alto ts210s. Had all this hissy noise, so I switched to xlr to altos, and the 1/4s to my recording interface. All the noise dissapeared. The noise was from the altos, so wonder why I am getting so much noise through the 1/4s? This is my perferred live set up, hate to have all that hiss onstage. Never really noticed before.
  5. Yep Phil.. if at home, use a daw or meter, or against a drum track. Then tweak by ear if you go to a live session. Thats about it, spending a few hours doing exactly that today myself..
  6. I hear this alot. SO I downloaded a bunch of free IRs, and spent a few dollars and some others. I enjoy working with the helix cabs better, easy to navigate and tweak. I found a few IRs give me more here and there, mostly a few high gain patches I made. But I am 90 cabs. Nice to have a few extra options but whats there works well. And I am sure line 6 isnt done adding them or maybe another Allure type download. Some of those are very nice imo..
  7. Great post.. I have a few big outdoor dates July 3 and 4.. something to prepare for! Thanks for letting us know!
  8. Yes flangers are better. I had a electric mistress as a kid, and do alot of police material. Its very useful and fairly accurate as well. Need a better phase for sure! There was one in my X3 that was awesome. Cant remember which off top of head..
  9. Not crazy about most of the flangers/ phasers. Escpecially phasers. Love to see a few new models there.. and the update process!!
  10. Turn hum and sag all the way down, hum in particular. Sag has some uses, mainly for cleaner or bluesy tones, or solos. I trim my cabs to 5-6, lows around 120. I also use two amps usually on different paths. The blends are amazing and very useful in sanpshots. I ran into my amp for awhile, I broke down and bought 2 alto210s, and havent looked back. Dont miss lugging a bunch of gear at all. It took me awhile to adjust, but soooo glad I stuck it out! Best of luck! Try turning pad on as well, lets you use a little more gain, etc a little cleaner.
  11. Where did you get the lynch IR? 😎
  12. Quick follow-up, try using the vocal tube preamp. I love the Minotaur pedal myself, but a few of my patches we're still lacking. So I switched the Minotaur with the vocal preamp and got amazing results! I ended up switching out distortion pedals for the preamp on a number of my patches.
  13. Sorry, dang voice recognition.. meant to read he shows a patch he made using the vocal tube preamp
  14. So I was watching one of Scott's videos on the Helix Channel, and there is one video where he shows up a check I made using the vocal tube preamp in front of the Archon.. I had a few patches where I wasn't content with the sound yet, so I took out the distortion pedal I was trying to use and replaced it with the preamp. Wow! It sounds great, smooth out the harshness and gave it some great pic attack with a great tube sound. Been reading a lot on the high game patches the last few days, maybe you guys should give this a shot. Or as a nice boost for a clean Channel.
  15. Do you have one or two Altos? I have 2 alto ts210s and had the same problem. One I went through and did similar cuts to all my cabs (I don't use many IRs), and leveled all my patches through my recording studio, I seem to be getting much better results. I make notes of what is lacking at rehearsal, and tweak constantly. But getting there! I should note I use many varied patches so its a pain, but fun. I have a few that cut tremendously! Also, make sure your altos are not on the floor, I always have em elevated, makes a big difference, esp when creating patches!

    Wah Wah

Sorry, forgot the controller assign button, but glad you found it..

    Wah Wah

Go to globals, press learn controller.. then press the wah and it will work correctly now. You must do this every time you change a wah model..
  18. When running a split path, and not merged so each path has it's own output, what does the balance control for each path in the split block do?
  19. Thank yall.. ive seen the looper trick, it makes to much sense not to try! I only have a few IRs, I have enjoyed the stock cabs just fine so far. I have a few dual path patches that sound great, but if I use the top for a cleaner sound, and am trying to get the bottom paths to sound better with just one amp. You never know what combo it will be, so figured a few of you would have some recommendations to doodle with..
  20. So I usually start with the stock cabs, but like to add a seperate one for some flavor and depth. I find the soup pro a nice warm sound even though based on a small speaker. Rebuilt some patches with it, but wasnt crazy about the sound at practice tonight. And favorite cabs or amp/cab combos for a more modern rock sound? I am not big into IRs yet, have a few to play with, but Id like some stock cab recommendations! Thanks!
  21. I got Glenn's high gain. I learned alot from his routing options, still had to adjust the cab cuts, and Irs.. They sound good, but not great, hard to tell what speakers/guitars he used. But a little tweaking and I am there. Hum and ripple gotta go, usually two amp paths and multiple cabs, I still don't have many IRs, part of the reason I bought his stuff.. I've used a few in my own patches. I got some of my heaviest patches sounding so good last night and woke up and they still sounded good, thats the test! Lol
  22. Hey Dune.. were you on the Korg d3200 forum? And when I go stereo, I rarely pan far, but just a little goes a long way to adding depth but I have a few with pretty drastic spreads.. just depends on the sound i am after, and I have a sound guy who works it too!
  23. Hey Dune.. were you on the Korg d3200 forum? And when I go stereo, I rarely pan far, but just a little goes a long way to adding depth but I have a few with pretty drastic spreads.. just depends on the sound i am after, and I have a sound guy who works it too!
  24. So who else uses the merge block to thicken their sound? I find spliting a path after an amp, each with their own cab and then instead of merging, move so you have a duplicate output gives great results. Then maybe a second amp path so you have three or more outputs to pan and adjust volumes. Is this common practice? My sound through stereo alto ts210s is getting better and better, and I find I am going back to earlier patches to add this effect. At the very least it is a cool option. Also if you need a cut or boost (for a verse or solo for example) you can just reduce the volume of one path, and add some flavor without taking away from your original tone.. just tonights thoughts after tweaking for awhile. I am up to 58 individual song patches, from very straight dual paths, to the above idea with four outputs. I also find adding a third path with just a cab and effects is a cool way to add a clean tone if you run out of dsp using dual amp paths for stereo higher gain sounds.layer them all together for some sweet depth and snapshot versatility...
