  2. Is the device firmware updated to the latest version 2.62? Is the POD HD500X Edit program updated to the latest version 2.27? Both are necessary conditions to be able to use model packs. Furthermore, as suggested by pianoguyy in POD the original names of the modeled amps are replaced by pseudonyms and therefore the Peavey 5150 model is called PV Panama, the Bogner Shiva model is called Mahadeva, and the remastered Marshall JCM800 model (2204) is called Brit 2204. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
  3. If you mean that after installing the model pack you don't find any presets already made with the models you just bought, know that you won't find any, it's normal and that's how it works. What happens when you install a model pack is that new models are added to the others that are already in the list of amp models supplied with the device and they are therefore findable and selectable when you edit/create a preset. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
  4. As you can see in the pic above, the POD Tap Tempo will respond to midi control #64 (with any value between 64 and 127). every single midi message received by the POD will correspond to 1 Tap.. Simply connect a midi cable from your drum machine's midi out to POD's midi in, set the same midi channel on both devices, make sure your drum machine sends CC #64 to the beat _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
  5. The problem could also be due instead to old solder joints of some SMD components that need to be reflowed, as described in the following post: https://line6.com/support/topic/33436-pod-hd-300-problem/?do=findComment&comment=497988 _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips

  7. It could perhaps be a hardware problem in the input stage on the motherboard, for example one or more damaged capacitors that need to be replaced. Check also the mic input, if it works well it means that the problem is only on the guitar input which is equipped with an analog circuit with variable impedance (try changing the impedance value via the input setting). You can also try reinstalling the firmware and then doing a global reset (but first save your presets on the computer), I don't think it will help in this case but you never know. Electronics skills are probably necessary to resolve the problem. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
  8. Is your device connected to your computer by any chance? Is it possible that the last time you used it you tried an IR loader plugin and therefore you set (and forgot) the hardware monitoring volume to zero via the Line6 driver control panel? (If so, turn the hardware monitoring volume back up to maximum). If you set the device as your computer's audio interface, can the audio of the music being played be heard? _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
  9. Im my opinion a "fuzz with an octave below" is the key element to easily get that Moog type sound you can hear starting at around 3:12 of Let It Happen by Time Impala. Eg my modeler includes the PAiA Roctave Divider model called Sub Octave Fuzz which works very well in this case. Combining the Sub Octave Fuzz with a P90 (or other single coil PUP) equipped guitar and a VOX type amp model would be perfect, but not strictly necessary given that the above FX is a very distinctive and predominant element of the chain.. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
  10. You can also download the firmware file manually from this site and using the monkey app choose the option to update from file. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
  11. You're right, I use a HD500X and I didn't remember that the HD300 didn't have the MF EQ. But I think that the HD300 should be equipped at least with the Vintage Pre which also contains a Low Pass Filter which you could use for the same purpose. In this case the values would be more conveniently expressed in kHz, and a setting more or less around 6 kHz could be what is needed.. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
  12. Try putting a MID FOCUS EQ after the pre-amp in your POD patch to use its included Low Pass Filter (sort of like a HIGH CUT). By default, two MF EQ parameters that are not needed in this case are active and therefore must first be neutralized by setting them to zero: the GAIN and HP FREQ. The parameter that serves as HIGH CUT is the LP FREQ, setting it to a value between 63 and 70 (depending on the amp model chosen) should solve the fizz problem. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
  13. In the 4-cable method you basically have 4 cables/lines. Depending on where you want to insert your physical pedals using additional cables you can insert them into any of the 4 main lines above. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
  14. Hi jspade, I did a check on my site and in fact there was a configuration error that prevented correct registration which I have now corrected. I just tried creating a new test account and it worked perfectly. Thanks for the report and for the compliments. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
  15. What you need is to use the "4 cable method", which will allow you to configure some POD effects in front of your amp and others in the FX loop of the same amp. Try doing a search online for "4CM", and/or read the article on the topic that I have already written on my forum website dedicated to POD, here is the link: 4 Cable Method _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
  16. If you want you can try what in this forum is considered a sort of remedy for all malfunctions, especially for which the exact cause is not clear, and that is reinstalling the firmware, which in practice is a way to completely reset the device. After reinstalling the firmware it is recommended to perform a Global Setting Reset and finally the Pedal Calibration procedure. Before starting everything described above it is advisable to save your patches on the computer which you can reload later. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
  17. Pressing the left navigation pad while turning on the device (as you did) is a procedure for the POD known as "Global Parameter Reset" which generally should be performed every time the firmware is updated/installed (and which should always be followed by the "Pedal Calibration" procedure) to avoid malfunctions. Furthermore, the "Global Parameters Reset" procedure can be useful to get you out of a boot-reboot loop (as in your case) which could be caused by the last used/selected patch being corrupted, and it succeeds because it defaults back to Set List 1 Best of HD preset 1A Son of Plexi. A corrupted patch in this context is a patch (probably downloaded) that was created with different version firmware than the one currently installed on the device. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
  18. If the SDRAM is really about to fail only an electronics technician can fix it.. In my opinion it could also be the power supply that is no longer able to provide the necessary amount of current.. Or further upstream, perhaps for some reason (eg too many devices turned on and connected to the same power strip) not enough current passes through the socket where the power supply is attached _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
  19. 22. Some POD internal components may need re-soldering.. Perhaps what is described in the following post could be useful in solving your problem: https://line6.com/support/topic/33436-pod-hd-300-problem/?do=findComment&comment=363848 an excerpt: << I resoldered with liquid flux all the U8(072 op amp) and D3 legs and straight away all was well even after freezing and heating again . 25. Both what comes in via the CD/MP3 input and playback from the computer via USB are only played back/monitored by the standard outputs (jack and xlr) and the headphone output, but cannot be streamed (or recorded) using only the POD as audio interface. To be able to stream everything together you need another audio interface to connect the POD to. The other audio interface could also be the one already integrated into your computer, in which case you should connect the POD to your computer via jack and select the intergrated AI in your streaming program. Headphones should be connected to your computer or other external audio interface depending on what you choose to use. The POD can still remain connected via USB to your computer just for editing purposes. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
