  1. In INS/OUTS there's settings for DIGITAL OUTPUT (AES/EBU or SPDIF) and DIGITAL OUT LEVEL (typically leave at 0.0).
  2. While not the best in terms of latency, most of us have no problems with the L6 drivers. If you do decide to try ASIO4ALL and you can get it to work for you, great. IME it sucks. YMMV.
  3. Make sure that the TIP lead from the HXS Send is in the L Return, not the R Return. Next thing to do would be to check all of your patch cables.
  4. The only way I can duplicate your problem is to set the RETURN TYPE to AUX. When set to RETURN, it works as expected. Double check that setting.
  5. Attach a copy of the preset so we can look at it Something's not right, and if the wiring is correct, it has to be in the preset.
  6. Sorry, it sounds like you're already doing what I said. It should be working. Switching channels on the Bogner will only have an effect if the Loop is ON.
  7. Also, if you're going to toggle the delay from the delay footswitch, save yourself a block and an AD/DA conversion by putting the delay between the L/Mono Out and the Bogner Return.
  8. If you want to use the amp's preamp without the US Double Norm and the amp is in Loop L, then set the USDM and loop L to one footswitch, saved with one ON and the other OFF. That will toggle the signal through the amp with the Loop ON and through the USDM with the Loop OFF, bypassing the amp. The signal will always go through the Loop R. With Loop R ON you'll get the external delay, OFF bypasses Loop R (no delay). If your 4cm is wired right: L/Mono send to amp input, amp send to L Return, L/Mono Output to Amp Return, R send to delay, delay to R Return, It should all work.
  9. Any decent set of 5" or better studio monitors will work (smaller sacrifices bass), just connect them direct from the HX Outs. My "Studio" rig is a pair of Rokit6 monitors. Lots of people use the Yamaha HS series monitors.
  10. You need to use two FX Loop Blocks - FX Loop L and FX Loop R. That leaves only 4 blocks for everything else. Also, in Global Settings>Ins/Outs, Return Type has to be set to "RETURN".
  11. Yes. Headphones. Or, if you have a stereo system with line inputs, use that. My "office" rig is a bookshelf system - Sony MHC EC909IP - 6x6x10. Sounds great! Obviously not a gigging system, but loads better than your laptop speakers!
  12. Assuming Win10 fully updated, reinstall HXEdit. This reinstalls the ASIO drivers. If it's still a problem, install a different DAW (Reaper is FREE until you choose to buy it, Bandlab Cakewalk is FREE, there's a FREE version of Ableton LIVE). If the problem persists with a different DAW, then it has to be a hardware problem. Contact the maker of the PC (unless it's DIY, then you're the guy!). I use all 3 of the aforementioned DAWs on both an ancient i5 Gateway laptop and a 7th gen i7 HP laptop with no such problems. I tried Cubase, thought it was a total PITA, but if you have a specific need for it, and the above fixes don't work, I'd hassle Steinberg until they tell you to bugger off, which, IME, is more likely than that they'll be helpful. You could also try their forum, but I found that also less than fruitful. Line6 support is great, but they can't be expected to know everything about every DAW and hardware combination, especially custom builds.

    Output Questions

Assign the Pan parameters to a snapshot that centers the settings.
  14. I'm not hearing anything unusual, either from the clip (through HXS AUX or straight to speakers) or playing through your preset, through headphones or speakers. Obviously, I'm using a different IR, but you said that didn't matter. All I hear is the normal "hi-gain" type noise, and nothing when playing clean. Certainly no "ticking" noise. Did you check to see that you're using a filtered power strip? Different wall outlet (on a different house circuit)? Try moving the router to at least 10 feet away? No cell phone nearby? If you live in an apartment, could the neighbors have a router or signal booster of some sort near an adjacent wall (move your rig to test)? FWIW - my router is about 6 feet away and my iPhone is 1 foot away from my HXS. Only other thing I can think of would be a faulty HXS power supply. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
  15. If you attach a sample preset I'll have a look at it.
  16. A Helix Cab is a type of IR. IRs are just cabs created by companies other than Line6. There's hundreds of thousands out there. It's a HUGE Rabbit Hole. If you want to try some, most companies - Redwirez, Ownhammer, 3Sigma, Celestion, LRS, MLS, Valhalla, and more - have either a FREE or very cheap intro pack. They can consist of one Cab with a few general purpose IRs or a dozen mics at several distances and cone positions for a hundred or so IRs - for ONE CAB! A GIANT RABBIT HOLE! I have some of all of those I mentioned, and L6 even has a free pack (Allure). Have Fun! Go crazy! If you're lucky, you'll be happy with the stock L6 cabs. Many are.
  17. You said that the sound records. If your DAW allows, can you attach a sample? Just the isolated guitar track, not the whole mix. Also attach a sample preset (not a screenshot). You may be experiencing the dreaded "squirrels".
  18. The 1b gives it away as a 3Sigma. The "A" variation is captured using a tube amp, the "B" variation is captured with a "flat" solid state amp.
  19. Yes, that's what happens, I just tried downloading a preset from Customtone with an IR I knew I didn't have, it threw the "error" and used the IR I had in that position.
  20. Because you don't have that impulse in your impulse library. It should import anyway, and just use whatever impulse you have in that position in your impulse library. I seem to remember that happening once. Unless you have NO impulse in that position, then I don't know what would happen.
  21. I have it saved as a text file :-)
  22. If you want to get the attention of the developers, post it here: https://line6.ideascale.com/ Post 3 separate requests. I for one NEVER vote up multiples.
  23. Not gonna happen. Even if you mic the cab, it's going to sound like a mic'd cab, not the cab on stage. You can get CLOSE if you use a FRFR speaker on stage and send the same signal to it and to FOH, but unless FOH is using the same speaker as you, it will sound different. And then there's the FOH sound tech to consider. It's his/her job to make you sound good out front, and he may or may not be good at his/her job. Reality - get the sound on stage that inspires you to play your best, you have little if any control over FOH. Guitar>Helix>1/4" L/Mono (no cab/IR) out to Quilter FX Return>Quilter out to cab (no cab sim) Helix XLR L/Mono (with cab/IR) out to FOH

    trs cable

No. IIRC, Tip is Left, Sleeve is Right, but unless you're using a balance control or using the S/R as separate loops it doesn't matter.
