  1. If you know that it's way too pricey, then you must have gotten a quote from an authorized service center. How much $$ do they want to fix this? Honestly curious - could happen to anybody....

    EXP1 "on boot"

If you want the WAH to be ON (engaged) when you load the preset, save it that way and it will come up as EXP1. If you save it in the OFF condition (not engaged), it'll be EXP2, ready to be engaged when you WANT it engaged. IOW, for the WAH, EXP1=ON (engaged), EXP2=OFF (not engaged). It's still "assigned" to EXP1 either way. Or am I misunderstanding the problem?
  3. If you want to save a modified preset elsewhere, you need to COPY/PASTE the original to the new location and edit it there, or do the SAVE on the hardware itself. Yes, the issue of there being no "SAVE AS" function in HX EDIT has been brought to L6's attention.
  4. You need to put a RETURN block in the signal chain, probably at the end so it doesn't go thru the effects.
  5. In Global settings/MIDI/TEMPO/ turn OFF MIDI PC SEND (disables automatic sending of the default PC message). In Command Center, set an instant command to send the desired PC# (or CC#) on the desired MIDI Channel.
  6. Since I (humorously) introduced the "cloud" to this totally unrelated subject, allow me to interject that hitting the SAVE button and sending your Helix preset to a storage device in "the cloud" will not likely subject you to either identity theft or CIA scrutiny. Although, I suppose if you're in the habit of naming your presets after famous assassins or jihadists.....wait, is that a black helicopter hovering silently outside my window.....and me fresh out of tin foil.....
  7. ICONic, for those of us old enough to remember what a floppy disk was....what icon would you use for an SSD?.....I'm thinking that MS is waiting to change that until they get EVERYTHING into the cloud....
  8. If this is the most serious complaint about 2.6, I'd say that L6 hit a home run!
  9. The point of an ICON is that it's an OBVIOUS representation of something. A new user would NOT recognize that icon as representing the function SAVE. That particular icon usually means DOWNLOAD, not SAVE. Best practices in GUI design (at least as I learned it) has always been to use pop-up Tool Tips with icons. EDIT - NBD, just pointing out a possible reason for OP's confusion.
  10. Sometimes computers lie, ya gotta smack 'em around a little or they'll mess with ya.....
  11. And you're sure the Audio Routing in S-Gear is set up right? Proper channel (L/R) enabled in the UI? If so, then.... If you haven't already, join the Scuffham/S-Gear Forum and post your problem there. I'm sure you'll get a quick response, lots of MAC users there. https://www.scuffhamamps.com/sign-in It has to be a problem with the configuration in S-Gear as relates to your MAC, since it works fine on PC.
  12. Works fine for me, but I'm using PC, not MAC. Shouldn't matter though. Make sure that the Sample Rate matches the Helix.
  13. What you're trying to do is complex beyond my understanding of how Ableton works, but it sounds like either a timing thing, or something you're trying to do is canceling something else. "I have successfully played a gig like this, but realised that i needed some improvements. So i have "Select next scene on launch" active and I am trying to have scene Launch automate loop Overdubs and use dummy clips to automate preset changes on the Helix, and this is where the problems start!" I'd start by going back to the version that worked, then adding features one at a time and testing thoroughly before adding changes until you get a fail. Also, install the just released 2.60 update. They promised midi fixes and, although the release notes don't mention much, it could be that something was fixed "under the hood" that will help. Certainly, you don't want to get your problem fixed, then install the update and have it break your fix!

  16. Sorry I never got back on this! I wanted to wait a while to see if it was all good. I wound up sending the unit to L6. They apparently had to replace a number of boards. I've had it back for a while now and all is good! Round trip one week. Great service!
  17. Have you tried my previous suggestions concerning memory and video drivers? I assume that you're on Windows10. Is it fully updated? Have you optimized your system for audio use? Are you running anti-virus sw? Wireless? Disable all that stuff when using Reason (latest version?), that's PART of optimizing your system. Power plan set for high performance? All USB hubs set to NOT allow sleep mode (in device manager)? GOOGLE windows10 optimization for audio. Most AI sites (Steinberg, Focusrite, others) have a section on doing that. Also, although running memory tests for 12-24 hours is a drag, you can't discount bad memory just because the system is new.
  18. Using the big knob for your 1/4" monitor send, the FOH will get a steady mic level signal. No worries!

  20. You probably want to set your XLR to FOH to MIC.
  21. You should DL the HX FX manual for full details. I have the Helix Floor, but the midi stuff is mostly the same (what I called "MIDI PC SEND" is called "MIDI PC Tx" on the HX FX). As far as I can tell, the HX FX stores 128 presets (vs 1024 on the Helix Floor). Each preset can contain up to 4 "Snapshots". Using INSTANT COMMANDS you can send different PC/CC messages with each Snapshot. So, one HX FX preset can have 9 FX (same effects in each Snapshot of a given preset) with different settings (bypass and parameters) for each effect in each Snapshot, and use whatever Diezel preamp or preset that you choose to use with that HX FX pedalboard configuration (preset). I'm not sure what you mean by "get all of them at "one push stomp". Hopefully, between the above and the manual, you'll be able to figure it out.
  22. CC#61 is the Looper STOP command. Nobody knows why it's sent (I've asked). This MIGHT be fixed in the soon-to-be-released 2.6 update. Meantime, unless you've got something in Ableton set up to repond to that CC#, it shouldn't be a problem.
  23. Yes. You set up a HX preset with the desired effects, then in CommandCenter you configure an Instant Command to send the PC# you've set up in the Diezel for the desired channel (or preset). In order for this to work properly you need to go into GLOBAL SETTINGS-MIDI/TEMPO and turn OFF "MIDI PC SEND". That prevents the HX from sending a default PC# when you select the preset. You can also set up a SNAPSHOT which, when selected, sends the required PC# to switch channels (or complete Diezel presets). This eliminates the "lag" that can occur when changing presets on the HX.
  24. Try opening a ticket, maybe you might be pleasantly surprised!
  25. Add DD's point about using a phantom power blocker.
