  1. I use a Moshi brand adapter and it works great. But I think it is similar in price to the apple product. And apparently not supported....but works.
  2. Yes there is some info on this forum. If you do a reset on the router, the use your ipad to set it up. Don't plug it into any other source to start. Just use the airport setup app (should be on your ipad) and on,y go in to change the network name if you want, and the security. Again, only if you want but you should if you are using it in public. The , you can plug it into your M20D using an ethernet to USB adapter. Go to the settings on the M20D and the network settings. You should connect. The airport express works right out of the box, but you will want to pick your own network name and security. The only reason I suggest a master reset on the router, is to be sure there are no altered settings. Hopefully that all works. I will give a step by step if you still can't connect. I believe all versions of the airport express are recognized, but can't confirm. Mine was new last year, so likely a version 3 or 4 but will check.
  3. I do believe you can do that. Click the "monitor" hardware button, and then at the top of the screen, you select "FX to monitors". I am pretty sure it is independent of the front end. Ie. you can have lots in the monitor and make it pretty much in audible out the front end. Not sure about actual "0", but pretty close.
  4. I think the main volume remains the same level when switching "scenes". Could you configure a "scene" to do what you need?
  5. I am not sure if it is any cheaper than the apple brand, but Moshi is the one I have. No problem ever.
  6. I guess that, or use an external media player. Too bad it doesn't work for you though. We all like to have less gear to bring and hookup!
  7. I also say no need to buy the apple one, but you should consider one that has the USB port as it allows you to put a USB stick in and play your backing tracks or "between set" music, and leave the SD card to deal with only recording. I purchased one from Moshi. But I bet you can find one on ebay. Another option is a powered usb hub. They also work I have read.
  8. The other advantage to the airport express, or similar router, you can use the 5ghz option to help avoid any issues with wireless devices should you have any. As well, it is a much stronger signal from what I have heard. I have not tried any of the USB dongles. Just word on these forums.
  9. I use apple's airport express router. It is a small, and reliable router. But any router will work. I connect it to the board with an Ethernet cable and a Moshi Internet to USB adapter. This adapter also has a USB port to plug a USB drive into. So you can play music from a USB stick and be connected to your router, and therefore your ipad connected too.
  10. The only track we use is the keyboard part on the intro to Journey's "Don't Stop Believing", so no "click" required as the track starts the song and stops at first chorus. That is where I need to remember to hit the pedal. I used to play this part on keyboard, but it was the only song we dragged the keyboard along for. I like playing it better, buy instead, recorded it. Personally, I think the board would be the best thing for backing tracks, with foot pedal control, and in between sets would be easier with an ipod or computer. Clearly. I am one of the few or it would have been designed that way.
  11. Hi, This is not possible. There are a couple comments here - http://line6.com/support/topic/2912-recording-by-using-footswitch/?hl=%2Bstart+%2Brecord+%2Bwith+%2Bfootswitch
  12. There was discussion in another thread and it was brought up that people who use it to play background music between sets would not want it to loop. I understand that completely, but, I would rather use an ipod for between sets and cue my backing tracks with a foot pedal and have them stop after each track. I guess it was designed more to play background music. Maybe in a future update, there will be an option for one or the other. Not yet.
  13. This is what I use. http://www.moshimonde.com/product/usb-to-ethernet-adapter.aspx I am able to plug a usb stick into it and play tracks from it using the ipad with the airport express as well.
  14. This is the USB to ethernet adapter I have. It is a Moshi. It allows me to plug a USB stick in it as well with my backing tracks, and plays and records no problem. http://www.moshimonde.com/product/usb-to-ethernet-adapter.aspx
  15. At the moment, you have to click your pedal when you want the track to stop playing. I do the same thing, but, we only use one backing track at the moment, so I am not sure if it goes to the next song when you want it to start. We need ours to stop about 1/4 into the song. I forgot to click it to stop once......ONCE! I wish it would stop at the end of the track.
  16. I thought I saw it in the picture, but I will post back here tomorrow evening with the one I am using.
  17. The Ethernet adapter I bought, has a USB port. It is very similar to the apple usb to ethernet adapter. I will look to see which brand I bought. I can't remember and I am away from my board until Monday. It looks similar to the apple one when I was trying to find it.
  18. Don, does your table indicate which line 6 channel to use, or not to use base don't the WiFi column?
  19. I am going to try that on my board. Seems like it would be common to have the mute all button engaged on power down.
  20. I will have to check, and won't be able to until Monday. I just can't remember the name, but, I believe it starts with an "M". Pretty sure it was a green and white package. I believe I got it at a Staples or might have been London Drugs. And it isn't just a straight ethernet to USB solid adapter like you can find. It has the USB that plugs into the board, with a short cable that goes to a female USB plug (for the USB stick, and an Ethernet port for your router. I will hint for the name, unless someone else finds it.
  21. I use the airport express set up. It comes with a sort of USB splitter. So you plug the USB-Ethernet adapter into the USB port on the M20D, and then the USB stick plugs into a littler "dongle" off of that. So it is a USB hub...sort of, but I don't think one that you would find. But I have read in other posts that USB hubs work, but best to get a powered one.
