L3m Has A Rattle Just Like The L2m
Digital-sound replied to velok's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
I posted in the other "rattle" thread and admit I found this issue, but don't see it being a problem for me. I had to plug bass direct into L2m, put bass and L2m on FULL gain, and hit the F# HARD. No amp, just direct. Active pickups. And I heard a loud, distorted rattle. I admit it. But last nights gig, with same cab as a monitor on stage running bass through it had no rattle at all. Only seems to be a problem at a very high volume for me. A volume that I will not use. So not a problem for my uses I guess. L3t's and L3s's acted very good too. Many musicians were in the audience as well as regular customers of that venue. I have not had so many compliments on the sound in one night before. -
L2t Vibration And Rattling.... Noise
Digital-sound replied to tudscamp's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Well, I don't know if I found the same issue, but seems remarkably similar. I have been using my L2m as a bass cab. No pre amp, just plugged straight in. I use a Warwick with active pickups so was able to get a very acceptable tone. Saves packing more gear to rehearsal or the bigger L3t. We practice 3 times recently. Each time, I had the L2m. We are four piece, with 2 guitars, accoustic drums, and a 3 vocals. We aren't loud, but we aren't quite. I set the L2m "volume" to MAX. I then used my volume on the bass to control level. The bass was plenty loud. No rattle at all as described. On the last rehearsal....last night...as we were winding up, I decided to try again to find the rattle that some claim is on every speaker. And they may be right. So I turned my bass to full volume, (again, no preamp) and the L2m was also set at FULL. I hit the low B hard. Nothing. A few other notes, the same. But the F# produced the rattle. But it was LOUD. I think it may have happened on another note, but don't recall now. A person there said it was distorting the speaker. So I had to show him it was one particular note. A frequency. This only happened at the full volume. I didn't have to turn down very far to reach a point I couldn't create it. Definitely doesn't happen at low volumes.....again, at least on mine. I am not concerned as I always use my front end speakers (l3t) with the subs and line 6 link so it is crossed over and the gain structure is correct. As I mentioned, I do use the L2m's as stage monitors with the bass running through them as well. No bass cab on stage. It isn't a lot running through them, but the "rattle" doesn't happen during our gigs. Will definitely update if it gets worse, but right now, I conclude it isn't a problem for me still. I had to "hunt". Hopefully, it doesn't progress to a more serious state. Maybe it is something that does? Is it just a matter of finding a better way to secure the fan? -
People Always Ask Me...
Digital-sound replied to BucF16's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
I have the full set up. Using 2x l3s, 2xl3t's, 2xl2m (monitors plus 3 IEM setups that I wish were Line 6) and the M20d. I use the xd-v75 hand held mic/receiver, and the relay g55 for my bass. I have considered a pod HD, but being a bass player with one of the very light and small GK MB500 heads, I don't know if there would be a benefit. I run without a cab on small stages and all works well. Love my line 6 gear. -
People Always Ask Me...
Digital-sound replied to BucF16's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Yeah I have often wondered about things like stickers. Axemusic.com throws in a tshirt with every order (ordered on L2 m from them and got a shirt from them, and even a "Line 6" jacket...but nothing from line 6. (The jacket is from axe music. They do it with a lot of different stuff). And I thought everyone threw in a sticker. I have not bought very much new equipment that didn't come with a sticker...from a pair of IEM's, to mics, to strings even, and mixers. The big logos on the speakers are nice, but we all like stickers and shirts! -
Tudscamp - I have not wished bad on anyone, and in my other posts on this issue in another thread, I have stated my support towards finding a solution to the problem. Read the original thread. I was only stating in this thread that is is not an effective way to initiate an effective dialogue between line 6 and velok. The community support forum is for just that. Community support. We try to help each other with issues that we may have. It is a place to ask who else may have a similar problem. And then, a "customer" with a problem, would go to "customer support". That is all I have said. And I wish no bad on others either. Even if my parents say it is ok! Can't be bothered. Easier and a better feeling to wish everyone well. Regardless what happens to me. I am a believer in karma. Ever since I started using digital gear, I think about a possible problem every gig. And wish those problems on no one, and feel for them when they happen.

I didn't mean to sound hostile velok. I am just saying if you want line 6 to hear you, this forum isn't nearly as effective as a support ticket or phone calls.

I think we only need to hear about defective speakers once. Even once per person. But this thread has gone crazy. If you have been given a number, call it. Put twice the effort into contacting customer support as you do posting here, with the information you were given, and I am sure you will get further than you do in this forum. I think it is very fair to mention that several speakers work fine. I am sure that a lot more than your 6 defective ones. I have 8 that are used often with NO issue. People doing there research on new speakers need to know this as well. As silverhead has pointed out, focus your energy on customer support and you will arrive at a solution. This forum is intended for community support. And I support you in your quest to get it looked after to your satisfaction. It is fine to mention you have a problem with 6 speakers. We get it. Over and over and over again. Let me say it again, people need to know there are many many good line 6 speakers out there. I apologize for responding this way, but I don't think your posts are effective anymore. It's like turning down the wrong road and then complaining it isn't getting you to where you want to be. Again, "customer support" is what you want. This is "community support". And believe me, you have it.

L2t Mixer And L6 Question
Digital-sound replied to JeffersteinVS's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Someone will help out with this, but I believe as long as you make a complete loop, it will all work as you want. Close the loop by ending back at the L2t where you started. -
Monitor Fxs Not Saved In Setup
Digital-sound replied to tochiro's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
My problem seemed one solved by being sure to load my last setup, and the scene. The random effects were only loaded if I turned on the board and assumed it had my last scene an setup still in place. Currently, I have another issue and i have submitted it as apparently it is in the line up to be fixed in an upcoming update. I load a set up, then I create a scene and save it. If I power down the board, the scene is lost when it power back up and load the setup that had the scene in it. The only way for me to permanently save a scene, is to also go back and re save the setup as well. After saving the scene. Anyone else with this problem? I did reinstall firmware and like I said, line6 is aware and looking into it. -

Mine as well. Even with bass running through our L2m stage monitors because no bass cab onstage, we have no issues. And our L3t's as FOH speakers with all instruments and drums, have no issue whatsoever. I am fully on board with the people that have problems and do expect Line 6 to make good to those people. Just want people who may "google" this in their research before buying to see that it is not all of the speakers. There are probably lots that will never see this problem.

L2t Vibration And Rattling.... Noise
Digital-sound replied to tudscamp's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
To quote Ron, a big "what he said"! I am lucky not to be one of the customers needing help. But, it would sure look good, and make many feel better to see some sort of announcement indicating that all will be looked after when the problem is figured out. Regardless of purchase date. -

Feedback Reduction Barely Working
Digital-sound replied to KeefPilchards's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Actually, our drummer isn't too bad at all. Just our guitar player. But we have him in control....just have to have a leash on him all the time! Not allowed to run free! -
L2t Vibration And Rattling.... Noise
Digital-sound replied to tudscamp's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
This is what I would like to know too. Can't tell on a forum. I remember the power supply in the studiolive boards was a huge issue that it SEEMED everyone had. But turned out, that compared to the units sold, it was just a very small fraction. They admitted there was an issue, but it wasn't worth a recall. They would repair them of course, but that was all. I have a feeling the issue may be the same here. The only thing I think should be a bit different, is that EVERYONE that needs a unit fixed should get it fixed even if they have had it for well beyond their warranty period. That is, once Line6 solves the problem. -
L3m Has A Rattle Just Like The L2m
Digital-sound replied to velok's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
That is really unfortunate. I am lucky enough to have received what you were looking for. Couldn't produce rattle in my L2m's, and although I haven't tried straight guitar to the L3t, I have used it many times now as FOH, and several times as a bass amp in rehearsal situations. All is great. I would like to think your next L3m's couldn't possibly have this problem AGAIN, but seems you attract them. Maybe there is a future for you in the QC section of Line 6 factory! And I would certainly be complaining loud as well of I had the luck you seem to. But I don't. It sounds like those who do are clearly mentioning the problem in the other thread. And it is impossible to gauge the size of the problem in a forum. Not everyone with a company's gear, actually join the forums. But, almost everyone with a problem, goes to the forum. So basically, we see close to 100% of the problems in the forum. It would be interesting to know the sales of L2m's. Certainly more have been sold than just the few of us active people here in the forum. Not at all trying to downsize the problem. I may have even moved back to my reliable yorkvilles by now if I was in your position, Velok. You are definitely doing your part and the some. Can only ask someone to hang in there for so long..... -
Feedback Reduction Barely Working
Digital-sound replied to KeefPilchards's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
I agree. I constantly battle with our guitar player. He claims he is not louder than the drums. I tell him to put his amp beside him and point at his head! But guitar players generally don't like to do that. They feel they need the tone of their amp. They have no faith in the front end sound apparently. At least, this is many of the guitarists I have played with. But not all. I have met a couple that use their amp as a monitor for themselves. We are a four piece. 3 of us use IEM. No need to mention who doesn't use an IEM! So he has an L2m as a monitor. I have stopped bringing a bass cabinet and run my bas direct. We mix it into our IEM's and I put my bass through the (non rattling) L2m. So we have made huge progress. Trying to get the drummer to move to E-drums. He is close....just not in the budget for him yet. But, at least he is willing. That is a start. But I totally agree. Feedback is drive by people being too loud, and often the guitar player (waaaay more than us bass players!). Then the vocal wedge is never loud enough. -
Managing Setups
Digital-sound replied to actdmusic's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
I could see that being a very good solution for someone with so many setups and scenes! Would work great. Keep them all on a USB stick. And it's ready NOW! Now that's support! -
I used one of these - http://accessories.yorkville.com/stands_accessories/speaker_lighting/hardware_accessories/product/sks-adapt/ And removed one of the screws from the top of the l3t and mounted the above adapter. I tried to get two screws through, but, I think I couldn't get them to line up, so left it with one. If one doesn't hold it, then the speaker is probably going over anyway! I will get a picture for you. (And will start a new thread or join one on lights/speakers...this one has gone off track a bit)

Managing Setups

Sounds like it won't be ready for download next week! -
I have always liked the idea as well. I have done it with my previous system as well (yorkville 801p subs that I added two more speaker pole cups to for speaker and lights....worked great cause those things are heavy beasts!). One question. How do you work around the light T bar on top of the speaker stands? I find my speaker pole are 1-3/8" and my light bars are 1-1/2" (I think those are the numbers). So when I put my light bar on top of my speaker, it is loose. Are the K&M poles adjustable? Or have a "flip side" like some poles? I have added a speaker pole cup to the top of my L3t and have a short pole to which I riveted a small piece of the bigger tube to deal with the issue I mentioned above (sloppy light bar). I have two lights a side I put up there. I have my subs permanently mounted to a hand truck for simplicity, so there is a bit more stability with the wheels slightly wider than the sub. So I am not too worried about them going over. And the lights are "light" so I would do it anyway. Sure saves some space!

Signal Interference/dropouts G55/xd-v75
Digital-sound replied to Digital-sound's topic in Relay Digital Wireless
Ok, I will first attempt moving things as far away from each other as possible. I can put IEM's and router right at the bottom of the rack, and I can put the receivers antennas on the top at back. Kind of above/behind the m20d. At the back of the "slant top" rack. Will try that first. Of there is still problems, the I guess I will need a separate rack for receivers and tansmetters. Which I know is the best solutions. I am just hoping to keep as small of a rig as possible. Thanks,
