Yes. I mentioned in the other forum that the fader view on the QSC looks very similar to the line 6. (But the dual meter view in the fader view on the line 6 is awesome...I out and output meters on same screen). And as for fader views, they have looked the same on many mixers for years! I guess, if line 6 (and Mackie even sooner I guess) have laid down the first of the touch mixers, we can expect many more to come along and look ther same over the years. And my kids, may never want to touch a slider! Unlike some of the old school sound men who think we are crazy for going this route.

I do like the dl1608. And it has some great features, and a good price, and I would look that way IF it connected to any speakers like the M20d does to its stagesource speakers. With no help, I can pretty much go trailer to stage and ready to play with a good sound, in about 30-45 min. 4 monitor mixes too. But two things that Line 6 has that no one around their price range has is the stagesource speakers and the way it links to them, and, my favourite still, is the recallable input gain levels, plus the ability to actually bring the gain down automatically when the drummers for gets heavy and begins to clip, or maybe the guitar player or even the vocalist gets a little louder....(but never the bass). It is awesome. Few nights went by in the past where I didn't have to adjust an input gain....and always down. Again, I like the dl1608, and if I still had my old....but very good speakers, I would likely own a DL1608 right now. Also, I need nothing else in my rack for anything front end or monitor wise. Even with the dl1608, and likely the new QSC, I would still want some kind of processor and crossover. For me it would be my driverack. But today, all that is in my main rack is a computer, power, and some IEM transmitters. It's pretty small, and does everything.

Saw this over on the Harmony Central forum. Looks very familiar, but still overall preferring the Line 6 setup from what I can see. I do like all the aux outs (8) and two are even in stereo. But, I have had lots of mixers and gear. Decent stuff too. But nothing has compared to the Line 6 DreamStage setup. This unit is only 6lbs (the 16 model) and I see no way that it is going to be able to link to speakers like the M20d. I also hear I it will be listing around the $1000 mark. http://qsc.com/products/mixers/touchmix_series/ Everything considered, and especially the fact that I now own some of the best speakers and board, I think the M20d is the winner. Generally, I have learned in this world, you get what you pay for.....generally. And especially with audio gear. Although I was proven wrong with the stagesource speakers!

I had this problem once too. But I figured I overlooked something (and maybe I did). But it was just the drummer's in ears. He asked why so much reverb....and we had never put reverb to his mix (not consciously). I am still leaving it at "operator error" until I can prove it's not.

I noticed the same thing. I have only tried it once, and I remembered the post at the time. I have done nothing to see what happened. But I didn't put much thought into it because the recording came from a different venue. We didn't do it right then, so I just assumed I did something different. Will be interesting to see if Don finds anything in your file.

Section 9.3 in the manual explains it. You want to "use with existing wifi network" and once that is selected, you will see your router. Connect to that.

When you choose belkin858 in the ipad, where is it trying to connect to the Internet? In the ipad "settings" app, on the "wifi" page, it should show the network, and a check mark beside the one it is connected to. The ipad won't "try to connect to the Internet" unless you open safari, or App Store, or something. But it is ok to connect to the Internet if it wants to. But once you see it on your ipad as connected to your belking, the , go to the settings page on the stagescape and then the "wifi" section on the stagescape, and you should see the network available to connect to. And a 4 digit pin. Then, once the M20d is connected to the belkin, and you ipad is too, you can open the stagescape app on your ipad, enter the 4 digit pin, and be ready to remote control the mixer.

Completely agree! But, before you do that, it is nice to see that you can connect. Once you can connect, the you do need to figure out how to set up you admin rights on the router. I am not a hacker, but sometimes, if I connect to a router that has the default name, I check if it has the default password. And it almost always does. So while no one could get to your stagescape without the 4 number pin, they could lock you out of your own router and it is very easy to do.

It really isn't too difficult, but something that many may not know. Right out of the box, plug in your router. Plug your apple ethernet adapter into your M20D, and then, connect that to your router with an Ethernet cable into the LAN port. Go to the settings on your M20D (the "i" in the top right corner), click "settings" and then click wifi. I can't remember what shows from there, but it should be obvious I hope. When you connect your ipad, you will be asked for a code which you also get from the M20D settings menu. That is the most basic setup. If you want to change your network name, or password, you will have to go through it in your manual. It also isn't too hard.

You shouldn't have to give up a strip of xlr connectors to use phantom power. Your dynamic mics will be fine plugged into the same strip. Nothing will be ruined. It is common on mixers to turn phantom power on from just one switch. With decent cables, you should not hear any hum, or any difference in the quality of sound. At least for live sound. Maybe recording, you may hear something?

Too many "mixer" words. I understand the short answer is no. Plugged in to the L6 link, the mixer on the speaker will do nothing correct? Unless maybe it affects instruments plugged into the mixer side of the speaker? I only use mine as front end, and sometimes as a monitor on another system, so I have not experimented.

I recently did a recording of our night, and at the end, I forgot to stop the recording and another band member hit the power before I even thought about it. But no problems whatsoever with the files. All there, and all good. I was worried they were lost after reading about several issues on here. I have been lucky in that I have never had a recording issue even though I have been careless. It's best to practice the proper procedures, but, I think it is like dealing with any drive or card, and the proper "ejection" procedures. It will probably be ok, but if the recording is important, be careful!

I have not tried, but the manual mentions using a USB harddrive. Maybe try reformatting? Or make sure you can see it when plugged into the computer? Probably tried these things.

Always great to hear the "no issues" side too. Often, only problems make it to the support forums.

I haven't picked up any bags yet. I have been considering it. Before the speakers get banged up. I will keep this in mind when checking them out.

Yes, it is true. We all got by on just one with so many of the smaller boards. And it was great at the time!

Yes, I think the second post answered the question on how best to use in ears with the M20d. Just 4 outs to 4 transmitters. However, if your IEM syatem allows for another input for the "more me" feature, that would allow more options if, for example, you use the main outs too (assuming you are using L6 link). Then you could just add yourself in to the main mix at you transmitter. (And now I just re read your post more thoroughly SiWatts69 and guess I repeated you).

My iPad 3 is working and I am sure the air will too. Likely running iOS 7.

Yes, other users are very happy with on sub. And settings are all set up!

Would the 2.4 interfere if no one was logged on to it?

I use the airport express. It was an easy setup, and it works flawlessly. I use a relay55 and the xd v75. So far, never had an issue with anything. I am amazed at the clarity and quality of the 55 and 75. I think I will switch my router to the 5GHz band just to avoid any problems I have heard of. I would expect a flawless connection with any decent router. Much better than a USB dongle only.

Mine also acts this way. It is the way it is "scaled" I think.
