I don't think so. I think that is for a printer only. -
Playing Music From Ipad

Moshi brand works as well. Pretty much same price as the apple brand. It was the first one I tried, and works great. It is sold online at the apple store too so obviously approved by them. What I like, is it also has a USB port. So I can plug it into the USB port on the M20d, plug my ethernet cable into that, and then, plug a USB stick into the Moshi adapter that has a couple backing tracks we use on it, and as well have the SD slot to record us. Don't lose the USB port for just ethernet. Works great. -
I did the same as you BucF16! Sold my yorkville gear (which was very good gear, but old and heavy) and I bought similar to you. 2 of each. I have not regretted it for a second. I love the system. The very first night we used it, I selected preset vocals with reverb. When we started playing (we don t do much of a sound check. Just line levels, and then dial in around where we think we should be. And that has only gotten easier with the M20d) we had a lot or feedback. The very first time was without the stage source speakers, but it don't use the FBS on them anyway. It turned out to be the fx. I didn't think they were that heavy, and we are not a loud band, and the venue was not "sound unfriendly". Lots of wood and carpet. But as soon as fx were off, the feedback was gone. So we have dialled that in and it is all good now.

Yes, it is very clear to me now too. -
Fbs In The Stagescape

In another thread, dboomer recommends not using the FBS on the speaker if connected via L6 link. However, I am also somewhat curious about the scenarios velok asks about. -
L2t Vibration And Rattling.... Noise
Digital-sound replied to tudscamp's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Mavril, What is it that triggers your L2m to rattle? I have not heard the problem on a pair I have. It was mentioned in here that an "e" string on a guitar would do it. I use mine for stage monitors. Just vocals and acoustic guitar but have not heard the rattle. I am hoping I don't have a pair with the problem, but would like to test in anyway. Loud, full range music does not bring it on. Nor does the e on the guitar. -
Conundrum With Stagesource Speakers

I misread. Thanks federalhog. Sorry for confusing the issue....if I did. -
Conundrum With Stagesource Speakers
Digital-sound replied to federalhog's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
I believe that is correct. I am also pretty certain that if you do connect both directions, you can then connect to the inputs on the L3m too. The you have EQ as well, instead of just straight in the back inputs. But, it will also work how you mention, as already reinforced by silverhead. -
Best Way To Use L6 Link
Digital-sound replied to PatFoghorn's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
If you are using the m20d, the best way is to use the second method you mention. If you don't have an M20d mixer, then the first method is the best way. M20d and all stagesource speakers = L6 link from the board and all around. No M20d = L& R analogue to the first sub, and then L6 the rest of the way. -
Green Day Rocking A Stagescape System
Digital-sound replied to dboomer's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
There are a lot of posts on here that are from users like me. The system is great. Better than any other system I have used. Yamaha, presonus, yorkville (yorkville are the line 6 distributors here in canada). And I will say it again and again....you may get a very good sound from all the gear in the same class, but you WILL NOT get it as easy as you will with the line 6 system. M20d, and stagescape speakers. All the gain structure, and pretty much all the EQ is done and ready to plug and play. With ZERO other outboard gear. Just a board and some speakers, and GREAT sound. I have started taking our sound so for granted in fact that I have had to remind myself to check it. Because it is such a set and forget system, it is easy to forget. In fact, just last weekend, I got their early, set up, checked levels. Drummer arrived. Checked that he had signal. He left. Singer/guitar showed up. Again, levels, nothing more. Then, about 15min before start time, guitar arrives, plugs in, and we start. All good to go. I mix our band from the stage. Just out front a couple times t check mx. It has been a long time since I have had to adjust much. A little on the EQ for a new room, but we play so many repeat venues, I load the scene, and we are done. Less than an hour to set up and ready to perform. Including lights (bit longer for more lights). Lights take much longer than the sound. Sound can literally be ready in about 20-30 min. Including monitors. As quick as you can position speakers, and plug in xlr cords. It would not surprise me at all if green day very well does know what they are playing through, and I bet they like it! -
Green Day Rocking A Stagescape System

Interesting. It is in the back line. At least the one speaker is. Didn't look close enough to see if they had any on the side, but he clearly steps away from mic. Would think feedback. -
L2t Vibration And Rattling.... Noise
Digital-sound replied to tudscamp's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
First, my nick name has been confused with my status. My nick name is "digital-sound". "Iknowathingortwo" is what "just start in', changes to after 100 posts I think it is. It is assumed I guess we pick up at least "a thing or two"! Which I am sure I have, but no expert by a long shot! You have some very good points. Getting a little off topic of the original thread, but all good stuff. I don't know all the digital boards and have only used this one and the presonus 16.4.2. The 16.4.2 had a 31 band eq on every output. Very convenient. But, it took a couple years to get it. And even with it, I still needed my driverack PA+ for proper speaker management and I found it just much easier to work with. So you could say it didn't play nice with speakers I guess. The M20d is the only mixer I have had that allowed me to remove the dbx from my rack. Although, it was only after the addition of the stagesource speakers. But still, more than I have been able to do. 8 fx on every channel would be great for some I guess. More to be able to assign different fx to different channels. I assume that may be what you mean, because using 8fx on every channel might be asking a lot. I am extremely happy to have 4. I only ever had two outboard (reverb and delay) and I know many "bar bands" only got by with the reverb/delay shared effect on their board. Anyway, way off topic. Typing to brainstorm ideas, is a lot of work. I am sure things will roll along with firmware updates. The M20d started where some had left off and it is still young. Certainly, Line 6 will look at it as constructive critisicm as any developer would. But I think they will look at your ideas more in the ideascale forum. (At least I think they will. I have heard complaints about that too). But this area is where someone would like to find a solution for their fan problem. And at the moment, it sounds like there isn't one, but Line 6 is aware of it. And maybe when it is solved, there will be a "recall"? One could only hope if it is a well known problem. -
L2t Vibration And Rattling.... Noise
Digital-sound replied to tudscamp's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
I have 2 of the L2m's as part of my complete system of line 6 speakers as well. Have used for a number of gigs as floor monitors with accoustic guitar. Playing loud of course as it was a full band with acoustic drums. I also use them in my rehearsal space and to play computer audio and music through. I haven't heard the problem. But I will check the E to F scenario. And will post back. As for the fans, they can last a long time. I have a behringer amp that is about 7 years old so far and is used regularly by the person I sold it to. The fan is going strong and that brand is not considered high quality. Fans are used in many powered speakers and I believe they are used in all amps unless liquid cooled. I am sure there are many many very old amps still running with the fan still spinning. Least of my concerns. I can understand the frustration of being with defective products, and having it happen a few times is even worse. And although it is very strange to have this happen a few times to you, clearly it isn't as common as it seems. I remember deciding to purchase a presonus board, and read so many complaints about the power supply dying mid show. Seemed more than half of the posts at the time were complaints. But, I bought one anyway. And it was good. My point is, I am sure this can be worked out. The system is great, and I would be very surprised if there is no way to make it good, and find a good one. Maybe you got all from the same batch of whatever is causing this problem? Cause many of us don't have the problem. So it can't be all of them. But if they are aware of it, then clearly it could be any of them. I would hang in there a bit. But can understand if you don't. It is easy to say when everything is working at the moment for me. Oh, and I must say that the Stagescape mixer does play well with other speakers. I thoroughly enjoyed the quality of the m20d before making the plunge to the line 6 speakers. -
Monitor Fxs Not Saved In Setup
Digital-sound replied to tochiro's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
I really don't think so. We were only using the monitor page of the app. And the recording page. But, it is impossible to say "didn't happen". For now, I am just going to step up my "observation" and pay very close attention to this "feature". -
Monitor Fxs Not Saved In Setup
Digital-sound replied to tochiro's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Ok, now I know this happens, and seems to be random. We set up to perform yesterday afternoon. There is a house system with sound man, but old board, with only two aux sends. We use IEM's and like our own monitor mix, so I brought my m20d to use as a monitor mixer. Set up in afternoon, all good. I saved the scene, and I didn't power the board off. Came back, first set good, and second set, I hear reverb. Somehow, effects were set to all monitors and at the same level. The first two effects were both at about 50%. I had the lid on my mixer case because we all use iPads, so no one was able to access the board. Only the drummer and I were actually using our iPads and there is no way either of us accidentally set the first two effects to 50% on all the monitor mixes. I put them all back to zero, and they stayed there. I expect when I turn it on today to check, they will be at zero. I will update later. But this must be a bug. Fortunately, it is a harmless one for us. It is also unfortunate that it will be extremely difficult to fix if we can't figure out exactly what happens to cause this. I can't tell you what I did. I do go back and forth between the stagescape app and our setlist app, and I was recording too. But that's about it. I will be paying closer attention for sure. -
Just a guess. Is the DHCP turned on in your airport express? It has been a while since I set one up, but, it seems that if it works on an extended network, the your home router is handing out IP address, but when it is not on your home network, nothing is handing out and IP address? When only using your airport express, make sure that the stagescape is connected, and verify that you ipad does have an IP address assigned, and is part of the network that you have named on your airport express.

Qsc Copying Line 6?
Digital-sound replied to Digital-sound's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
I am like that too! But one thing I don't think the QSC has is the recallable input gains, or the auto trim. One of my favourite features. I don't use auto trim to set up, but I do count on it to keep its eye on the guitar player, and the drummers, later I the evening, heavy foot. -
Migrating To A Stagescape Setup
Digital-sound replied to johndkeene's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
In regards to the "t" over the "m", as long as you are sure, but, you will have a couple amazing stand alone speakers to use for anything you want, and it never hurts to have it. When I bought my L3t's, they were on sale and were the same price as the L3m's so it was a no brainier. When I got my L2m's I was sure I would only use them as monitors, and the same deal wasn't on, so the L2t's were almost $200 more. But, it wasn't long after I was wishing I has just gone for it. I have already had a couple cases where it would have been nice to have an even smaller speaker than the L3t, with the mixer on it. I was going to trade them in, but have waited too long now so probably won't be a full value trade. You will really like the L3s. I bought two, and they are really great. The only thing that will overwhelm your impression of the L3s will be when you can afford to get the L3t or m into your system. They really do make an amazing difference when you have the whole system, all communicating on the L6 link technology. I rarely use any EQ on the front end. Just a preset from the M20d, and then some tweaking on the inputs. The true flat response of these speakers makes all the difference. As for your big loaded rack, it will empty long before you get all the speakers. If you are passive, you will drop an amp right away for your sub (you stated you are getting an L3s), and all effects and EQ's can go right away too. The board is an amazing tool for the working musician in particular. You will enjoy it. -
Qsc Copying Line 6?
Digital-sound replied to Digital-sound's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Those subs are great. They were the LS801p's and I bet they cost a bit to get to the Caribbean at 145lbs each! Those subs are VERY common in Canada, but mine were a little more unique as I added two pole mounts to the tops of them. So there would be three pole cups on top. I used to use two NX55p's over them on each side, and after I switched to the EF500p's, I would use the extra pole mounts for lights. Worked great. They are hard to beat, but in my application, live country/rock band, they have been beat. In the complete picture. With Stagesource speakers all around. -
Qsc Copying Line 6?
Digital-sound replied to Digital-sound's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
Very well said dscheidt. I was looking closer at the qsc and really, M20d looks like a much better built piece of equipment as well. Made for the road. Not regretting my choice at all. Also, I find the stage source speakers bad in all as far as price goes. After comparing them to higher priced yorkville stuff. Which is popular here in Canada, and I do really like their higher end speakers. And, Yorkville is the Line 6 distributor in Canada. -
Monitor Fxs Not Saved In Setup
Digital-sound replied to tochiro's topic in StageScape Mixer / StageSource Speakers
I have never paid close enough attention, but I have noticed my effects levels change. I have just come to check them every time. But I will watch closer now. And I save every time we play. I load the previous set up/scene, and then, later during the night, I save when I am done tweaking for the night. That way, our sound in each venue is hopefully "bettering" each time we play. Mixing from stage, I just do to have the time to put in every time we play. Can't just sit out front and tweak.
