Where to put an amp (or effect) - wherever it sounds best to you. There are no rules, there are only some guidelines based on 'we tried this and it worked, so try this' . But the other way to look at this - just because it is a virtual amp/effect, doesn't make it any different than a physical amp/effect. Where would you put an amp or effect 'in the real world'. Well, that is where you put them on the computer screen.

for future reference - There is no 'factory reset', at least not in the common vernacular. But there is a 3 step procedure that we refer to as a factory reset. The truth is, if you don't already know what it is, then I suggest you do it because.... If you are still running the original firmware, you will see some serious improvements and additions if you install the latest.

sounds like you switched into pedalboard mode

Snoop Dog didn't get his dinner because the delivery driver waited 8 minutes... and left.

I take the opposite approach. Tell the woman to use a sharp knife next time - to make sure she gets it done right. And as far as what I've been told about marriage - a husband and wife not speaking to each other sounds like heaven. Better than having her nag all the time.
-
That is really the only way to do it.

No, you don't. Because the amp is mic'd, any change to the volume would lollipop off the sound guy. However, to answer the question with the answer I have said countless times (you are new, therefore have never seen me say it): All the adjusting needs done before you hit the stage. Once the curtain rises, it is too late to fiddle around with anything.

(I missed this part when you edited) Yes, they are. That is one of the reasons why I said not to compare the watts to guitar amps. Public Address systems are designed to be clear when loud. Which is why you buy a 600-1000 watt 'clear' system for personal monitoring, while your buy 100 watt guitar amps to compete against drums.

Without busting them out to see - They are older. None of this usb or bluetooth enabled non-sense. But I believe they are 15. Well, in fact, I know it is a 15inch speaker, and I am pretty sure that is the model, but not the complete model name because they have different years and features. They are plenty loud enough to gig. I do gig with them if needed, but I typically run direct and don't need to provide anything. It's my little sideshows that I may need to use them. They are pa speakers. A lot of people use them for 'pa on a stick' or hung from a ceiling. So, yes, they are plenty loud enough for most applications. YMMV

We should probably start discussing the Pod's system settings and stuff like that. The wrong settings can lead to someone never having a good sounding patch. First and foremost: Don't think in terms of a guitar amp. A 100 watt guitar amp vs a 100 watt pa system are not comparable. Due to my personal experiences, I would look for something that resembles a floor/wedge monitor. Something that you can stick on the floor at the front of a stage near your microphone. Personal preference, I would want a pair of something that can be connected together so that I have one master volume that controls both speakers, while still allowing me to hook up separate input sources in each unit.

I run direct to the pa (mixing board, recording console, etc). But I do have options available for at home, small gigs, etc. I use a pair of JBL Eons. So, of your list, just by brand association, that would be my choice. Kemper Profiler users are very... I guess we could say, 'snobbish'. So, to me, it makes perfect sense that someone using their Power Kabinet would say it was better tha.... I always suggest a matched pair for stereo. But to each their own. A lot of people here use Head Rush and Alito. You can look into them too.
-
until a phase issue ruins the tone that was meant for stereo or, down the road, when someone uses the XLR to go to the pa and hears only half the tone they created.
-
1/4" out - make sure you put a dummy plug into the the other 1/4" jack, otherwise it will sum-to-mono which could cause tone issues Don't forget the Pod's system settings. They make a big difference too.

The thing to remember about FRFR is that it goes by many names depending on the intended uses. Studio monitors. PA systems. (some) Keyboard amps. (some) Acoustic guitar amps. These are all examples of the same basic bland sound that you get from FRFR. So, go check out your local Craigslist. There's always someone getting rid of a little pa-on-a-stick system.
-
Even going FRFR may not give you a tone you like. Here's why: Same room sound vs album ready tone They sound fantastic on record. They sound fantastic live through a pa. But they don't provide that bedroom tone we spent most of our lives hearing. Nor were they designed to. ================================================================== Modeling 101 states: You won't sound like a Fender or Marshall if you put a virtual Marshall amp/cab tone into a real Fender amp/cab.
-
The bad news, is that it will override your current settings, which could change your tone.
-
First - define 'clipping' If you are talking about a mild fuzz/distortion when using a 'clean' tone... Change Input 2 to Variax Also, make sure the In-Z is set to 3.5

I don't own the go, so I am just going to toss this out there... If pressing both buttons got you into this mess; have you tired pressing both buttons to get you out of this mess. Sort of like an on/off scenario.

Yes, I second that. The XLR outputs are much quieter than the 1/4".

I just saw a Line 6 Helix Floor in limited edition Space Grey.

He's not wrong. He was just talking about something different because you mistakenly said you were stuck in the boot loop. So, instead of fixing the pod, we need to fix your computer... Tell us what Windows you have. And, most importantly, tell us if you had this stuff working ever and when the problem started.

Has any used an external generic valve preamp live with Helix?

Having never used a tube amp, I can't speak to the allure. But I can use a little deductive reasoning to figure this out .... First, we must be aware that a modeler is not designed to give 'same room sound'. They mic'd a guitar amp. Modelers give that 'final sound', like you would hear on an album or through the pa at a concert. It isn't what you hear in your bedroom direct from your amp. Once we know this, we can then say - adding the T will still not give you that bedroom sound. However, let's take a look at how to use this thing anyhow (particularly since you aren't talking about your bedroom): In the physical world, where would the tubes be? They would come after the preamp and before the cab. So, we can assume that putting the T after the L6, which is after the preamp/amp/cab/mic, would not be the right placement. This would mean, we would need to put the T in the fx loop. I don't know if we can put the fx loop between the amp and cab, or between the cab and mic. But those would be the most ideal place to put it. -
now I feel bad. I just figured people stopped trying to talk to me. I didn't know it was removed. Apologies to the new guy for that - although, IMO, the idiot moniker still applies for referring to the product as dated. It is old, without a doubt. But, contrary to popular opinion, there is no self-destruct feature built into old products set to go off the minute new stuff comes out. The HD500 is every bit as good as it was the day it came out a decade ago. there is still the 'leave a public message' option. And, I quoted his post - which will email him if he didn't turn that feature off. Doesn't seem to have been active since August.

hey, castlevania, this guy wants to buy your stuff but can't figure out how to get your attention
