For recording: No, you can't. At least not in the method your are trying to avoid, lol. If you want the sound of your Katana MK2 Head and cabinet, you need to mic it. The digital recording aspect of the Pod won't capture the sound of your rig. Only a mic can do that. For all other playing: Sure, you can plug* the Pod into the Boss. Rock on. *how you plug it in is variable due to personal preferences.

That's your own fault for designing patches around your GEQ. Use the audio outs instead of the USB. redesign your patches without GEQ turned on.

It is an Apple issue.

Actually, the Dual Amp setlist was older, before the X units even came out. But,yes, there are dual amp patches on the current firmware. *I have these things saved, but don't use them.

There are dual amp and dual path presets. But, also, depending on the firmware version someone has, there was even a Dual Amp setlist at one time.
-
You are describing a problem that may or may not be related to the rest of your statement. And since you weren't very descriptive in your set up... let's try this first - go to your control panel and switch the direction of the pod's signal

I still find it a laughable question. Not just because of 'can it be used with one amp and in mono'... I mean, DUH. But also, anything made for stereo can be mono simply unplugging your 2nd audio source. Take out one earbud, you no longer hear stereo. The reason you only see people talking about how to make dual or stereo patches is because THAT is the more advanced stuff that not all machines do and can be difficult to properly set up. People ask if it can be done. People ask how it can be done. The thing you want, everyone knows it can be done and how to do it. *Now, since I brought up "more advanced stuff", I will point out - the 1/4" outs will sum to mono if you only use one jack. So, I advise you to use a dummy plug in the other, that way stereo is always 'active' and you are hearing what is truly meant to be in the one channel. You won't have any unintended phase issues. This is especially important if you use XLR since XLR does not sum to mono. You want to hear the same from both sources.

i must have totally misunderstood that, because there is no way this is a real question

your broken english may make it difficult for us to fully understand what you are saying. but let me try - to download tones from Customtone, all you need to do is be signed in. it has nothing to do with you registering a product - don't even need to own one.

There's nothing stopping you from plugging it in. But the Pod doesn't supply power, so it isn't going to do you any good.

the HX uses HX tech. The HD uses HD tech.

Have you adjusted the mix

there are some parts in the 500 and 500x that are different. i will let someone else give the parts advice. but i wanted to point out - at this point in it's lifecycle, it may be better/cheaper to buy a 2nd 500 so that you have a backup unit full of parts
-
No. How much power you need for any given situation is up to you. Plus, I would just hop on your local Craigslist and see what is available. The point is - you want something 'clean'. Not something colored. Modelers replicate the color. Color on top of color defeats the purpose.

DO NOT BUY A GUITAR AMP Get yourself a keyboard amp (always get 2 for stereo). Get some floor monitors. Get studio monitors. Get an FRFR. PA-on-a-stick (which is probably the same as the floor monitors, but with the free stand). But do not buy a guitar amp.

This is an Apple problem. L6 is more than willing to supply its users with functionality. Your complaints are best suited with the Apple complaint department, or by joining any of the numerous lawsuits against Apple.

Downloading HD packs? Do I need the lastest firmware?

I don't know how much more simpler to make it. -

You don't need "the latest" firmware. But you need one of the 3 latest. Packs begin with 2.6 -
if you use one output, it is quite possible a phase issue

plug a sound source into the mp3 jack. do not touch the pod, just plug in your music player and use it for a few days. it is vitally important that you do not touch the pod. report back
