Oh, $1499.00. Wow that is a bit of a jump from the HD500X

http://line6.com/helix/ Anybody know what the price of this unit will be?

I have been wanting to use the back row more, because there is less lag when just stomping effects rather than presets in the front row which switch amp models and have more lag, which makes it hard to have fluid switches within a song
-
Yeah - the effects loop has a boost option which I use all the time now- I have been thinking about putting an OD/distortion pedal in there as well as an EQ pedal to further tailor the sound of the boost on the effects loop.

Buy the external pedal, then you will have control of both vol and wah.

I have just started to use my firehawk again, as I want to see how it is sounding with my Roland KC350 amp and JTV-59, what do you know, I got the A/D lights of death again, this is with the firmware update 1.10. This is really bugging me, as it happened while I was on one of the stock patches - 29A. I had to do a system restore yet again. If this issue does not have a fix with explanation on why it is happening, I do not have confidence in it enough to want to use it in a live situation. The lag, coupled with bad stomp button geometry, and this ongoing freeze up - is making me an un-believer. Right now it is a novelty item, which I compare to a child's toy.

The gator works great, picked one up for mine.

Yeah, I could live with 4 patches at a time with fast switching times.

I always like to have an amp by my side, as I have had problems in the past with soundmen screwing with the monitor mix, so I cannot hear myself. I chose to have a clean amp by my side, which I can adjust volume on away from all other variables, and be able to crank If I get dropped out of the mix. I have just got A Roland KC350 which seems to be working out good. I like having the xlrs which go to our snake into front of house, while I use the 1/4" outs to go to the amp.

There is a good stock patch on the Firehawk you could use as a starting point - I think it is called Broken dreams? (like the green day tune), it has that effect in it.
-
Glad to help - rock on!
-
For me - it is still the lag issue- I need to use all four preset banks in the same song, and switching between clean , modulated and hi-gain amps is torture.

Sounds good to me- thanks for looking into this.

What you have to do is tap and HOLD on the purple slider you want to control, a box will pop up asking you if you want to assign it to tweak. Say yes, then enable the on off and slide to adjust your range. If you are trying to get the drop for lonely boy by the black keys, I made a patch with that drop in it already, just search for tones with my user id: bond19. I have not uploaded many, but that is one of them.

In the app, You have to tap on the assign button, then on a slider you want to control, I know it was a bit weird when I assigned the slider to the pitch, but you just have to play around with tapping in different areas on the bender edit screen. I am not at my tablet right now, so I am trying to picture it in my mind.

I want to set my firehawk with the following output paths - the 2 xlr outs in stereo to front of house, and the 1/4" left mono to my amp. Does anyone know if even though the 1/4" has combined the stereo signal to mono, will the XLRs still be sending signal in stereo?

Welcome to my world

you have to toggle the assign to pedal on/off button beside the slider - to "on"

Unless you are needing to stream via bluetooth to your Firehawk, you can keep the red setting on the large know at around 10 o'clock, and the white around 2 o'clock, then the pink adjust to levels of your patches to make them all the same. What I found is that if you are going into the effects loop of your amp- be at 100% wet (all firehawk), and all the better if you have a volume control on the effects level of your amp, this allows you to adjust on stage volume, without affecting the mix going into the PA system from the Firehawk (if running live)

I am thinking it will be best on channel 4. I also think that as I will be sending my stereo xlr outs on the firehawk to front of house, through a snake, I will be fine running mono 1/4" into this unit. Thank you for you input OZ.

I totally understand, I think that as I have a few weeks between gigs, I will try to put some time into making my patches smarter to work around the existing problems I have been having with the unit- I like the tones I am getting out of it, especially with the JTV-59 hooked in. Later Ovaltine

Ok, can you let me know how you set up for an HD500? Thanks, I have yet to plug into it yet.
